Dealing with some of these independent financial companies can be negative, but overall I will say that my experience with this Speedy Cash location has been fair. The biggest PRO to this location is the efficiency of the staff and their willingness to tailor the experience to the needs of the client. I've gotten checks cashed here and borrowed payday loans from this location several times, and despite whatever complexities I presented at the time, they worked with me to make things go smoothly. The biggest CON to this location is their technological difficulties. There were crucial times that I have visited the location I have been turned away because of their computer system, phone system, or printing system not working. Poor time management in operation. Arrived at 6:01pm when an employee came out the door to say "we're close!" Then I mentioned that their website says they close at 7:00pm. She then repeated to say "we're closed, we're changing our times again" and proceed to walk away. The website, the Yelp app, and their store front even says they are still open. I've sat in my car and counted 4 customers trying to get in and also was confused why they closed earlier than normal. read more

Staff is very uneducated on the procedures to cash a check....all they had to do was call the issuer of the check and verify it was good.. but they first told me they didn't trust giving the number they called to verify my social & that they had to wait for district managers approval when really the verification place was just closed for the day LOL then the second day I go when I know the company is open & they tell me that this company has a block with them all of a sudden..total bs as I've cashed 4-5 checks here already...they also apparently charge 10% went up the street on artesia & Downey & got my check cashed straight away with one verification call and was only $24 compared to this place charging $70...if you just want YOUR money given to you without being treated like you're committing fraud then DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE read more

I give a negative 5 star rating...these people will have no problem giving you money then gouge you and make life worse in the long run. We borrowed 975 dollars and had to pay back 3360 dollars. At 672 dollars a month for five months...they take advantage of those in need..I understand and agree with capitalism but these people are a scam and criminals. The wait times are incredibly long, despite them yelling out "sorry for the wait be right with you" be prepared to spend at least 30-45 mins at this location. And despite you giving them your government issues identification with all your info on it they make you verify your address like it's not right there on the government ID you just handed them with your picture on it. I never understood that, why make paying you back so tedious. I could go on and on about the incredibly high rates but if your here, your obviously out of options if your taking a loan over 400% APR. the thing that get me is when you show up 3 days before your next pay day and instead of skipping that pay day they'll make you come back in 3 days so you end up paying 900-1,000% APR because they're absolutely greedy and prey on you when your at your lowest read more

I'm waiting in a very long line at Speedy Cash in Lakewood. (South & Lakewood). I stopped by here just for a money order. there's 2 customer. "Jazzmin" was helping me when she received a call. Instead of saying "Im with a customer right now, would you please hold" she took the call anyways. I was just sitting there. After waiting in for 24 minutes. Very unprofessional to say at the least. I will probably take my business to the one in Downey (Imperial & Lakewood). That's the place that I was going to originally. This is a horrible establishment the people there are rude and they're a scam artist I applied for a loan on a payday advance online which I really don't want didn't want to but I was in the situation where I had to because I needed the money fast and upon applying online I was told that I need to come down to a location to verify my identity established bring documents to verify my identity and finalize the loan sign the documents and finalize the loan well I applied online late at night so I couldn't go right after I applied I had to wait till the next day and in the morning I received a call from a lady saying that she represented Speedy loan Speedy Cash Loans she was confirming my appointment to come in and verify my identity with the documents and sign the loan agreement I confirmed the appointment time and proceeded to go down to the store when I reached the location she proceeds to hand me a new application for new loan and I reminded her that I wasn't there to apply for a new loan I'd already applied online I was there to verify my identity and I brought the necessary documents to do that and she replied by with an attitude saying well this is how we do it you need to reapply for the loan so we can do the process I said that doesn't make sense you need to me to reapply for a loan that I applied for online and then she proceeded to tell me what you didn't get approved online then questioned why would you tell me to come down and verify my identity if I wasn't approved online oh well cuz we needed you to come down and verify your identity in person but why if I didn't get approved because we need if you wanted the money you have a better chance of getting approved in store then online and I questioned it and asked her does that make sense to you that I didn't get approved online but I'm going to have a better chance in the store and then I asked her why does your qualifications lower are they lowering the store then online do you have a higher qualification or standard for getting approved no there's a saying you just have a better chance of being approved because you're handing in the documents physically to verify your identity and that's when I was really confused because I told reminded her didn't you tell me that's why I was coming into the store is to verify my identity in person hand you the documents physically to verify my identity and she proceeded to have an attitude well if you don't need the money you don't have to do it and considering that I was in a situation where I did need the money I had to do it and then I asked her is this going to be another hard pull on my credit report since you already have my credit report when I applied online see then proceeded to tell me with an attitude no we need to do another hard pool on your credit because we're a different we're a different department than online and I said no you're not you're the same she said you're a different business than online and I said no you're not you're the same business Speedy Cash Loans Speedy f****** cash loans I didn't understand that it was not a different company they were both Speedy Cash Flow but yet he had to do a whole new application on me which was weird because I told her how do you not have the information you already have my credit report how did you get my number to call me and make the appointment to come in and verify my identity if you didn't have the same information from online where did you get my information then to come call me and tell me to come in and verify my identity. Ive been here twice now. This location has outstanding customer service. Both times the customer service I received was top notch. I came in today ( a Saturday ) and it was quite busy but the staff was very apologetic for the wait. While waiting there for 5 minutes the staff shouted "we're sorry for the wait, we'll be with you all shortly" at least 5 times. At that point, I didn't mind waiting since I knew that they were working as fast as they could. Next thing you know I was up next & It took the employee less than 5 minutes to complete my transaction that coulve easily taken much longer if she didnt have a sense of urgency or care for my time. I looked at the line behind me and we were all in and out. Also, the ladies are always nice. I don't like small talk, but theyre friendly and ask how your day's going, what you do for work and such, which is nice. I don't know if it's just this location, but I can tell that the employees here have received good training upon being hired. I am not sure why this location only has 1 star. read more

Hello this is a personal review I know I feel about speedy cash if you were sitting with the disability do not go to speedy Cash they don't about people with disabilities it all, The only thing that speedy cash cares about is the money they make white people with disabilities suffer they lower than in saying that they can qualify for as much is $2600 and then when you go to apply for it and you don't qualify they offer you something small. I'm in the hospital right now trying to get a new wheelchair and speedy cash charge me on my debit card and stole the $300 without calling me letting me know that they were going to charge the card even though one person had a late payment if I don't known that they were going to charge my debit card without my knowing about it and they sent it to a third-party collection I never got a email or a letter from them so Flo person with a disability and you need a quick cash don't go to speedy Cash there's another place on the Internet that I would recommend and it's called cash that do not trust speedy cash if you are a person with a disability. Worst experience ever cashing a check. I was helped by a younger African American woman. My check was a written check, from my employer. She first made me sign up for an account with them. So I did. Then she told me that she needed proof that it was from my employer, so I gave her all of my pay stubs for the year as well as a business card and a written letter of my proof of employment. Then she took my papers, read through all of them and said "since it's a written check we need to call your employer. Okay.. I called him and he answered and then she said she needs to call him directly. Long story short they talked and it got confirmed. But that wasn't all. She needed to call the bank! She called the bank and after 45 minutes I finally got my check -14$. I had to pay rent today so I had no other option. That placed sucked. That employee sucked. She wasn't even friendly despite how hard she tried. She literally asked me "why do you have these?" When I gave her my proof of employment. Because I knew you were going to try to do everything in your power to not cash my check and I was trying to avoid that! Whatever, at least I got my money.. read more

They get you through the phone, you give them your info they say everything's going to be alright they make you take the time off of your work, you go in for them only to tell you that they can't process you because you don't have the right bank account... However good thing that they didn't accept me because the APR was through the roof and basically you will have to pay three times whatever they let you borrow at the end. read more
