Arrived within window both visits. First time told me I needed my unit power washed and cleaned but insurance didn't cover this. Paid them and he left saying it was fixed. The wash did nothing and I called again. Second visit had to ASK to check freon levels and other issues. Again told I might need a leak check, not covered by insurance, was told freon was low, but didn't add any or do anything to help because I wouldn't pay more out of pocket. After waiting 2 weeks and paying over $300, still not fixed. Awaiting a different company to come help. read more

We needed two ceiling fans replaced and since we used Speedy Electric before we called for the installation. They arrived on time, replaced the existing ceiling fans and provided us an estimate to replace the outdoor lights that are old and needing updating. I was forced by One Guard Home Warranty to use this company. Brand new AC system. Over 3k out of my pocket despite having home warranty coverage. Your company put a wrong pipe fitting that was causing the water not to drain and backup which caused a water line backup and a rusted out pan, basically less than a year old. This was done on purpose. So I would have problems in the future. An AC & Hearing professional told me this information. In his 30 plus years of experience he has never seen a fitting used like the one your company used. It was blocking drainage on PURPOSE. I will never do business again with your company and also share my experience. Shame on you. AND now discovering they didn't charge the unit correctly so I need more pureon!!! read more

when my AC went out it took them one week to come out. It ended up being the compressor they said. Well within a week it was out again outdoor unit not come on or cooling. This was the same issue as before.It took a week for them to come out AGAIN. The technician came was there 25 minutes and claimed everything was working fine but it wasn't because within 2 hours the AC unit outside turned off and would not come back on again. The technician just kept saying everything is working fine everything is working fine. Obviously everything was not working fine because I did not have air conditioning. I finally got fed up and called someone else that came out the next morning and fixed the problem. read more

We had an emergency and we agreed for them to perform work while we were away. Speedy Electric and A/C stated they performed work but we suspect they never did and they have refused to provide us a copy of the receipt, proof of the work performed, and information on warranty for their work. Additionally, they charged us $800, which I now know was roughly 40% higher than the five other electricity and HVAC companies I've now spoken with in Ellis County. Shame on me for trusting Speedy Electric and A/C without calling for other quotes. When we've called multiple times to obtain a copy of the receipt showing proof of their work, we get put on hold for 5-10 minutes only for someone to come back and tell us that they're too busy to find the receipt and to stop calling. read more

They're "Coil Scam" expert my home warranty company sent speedy to fix an ac issue. technician came here said coil is dirty and need to be cleaned, 300$ for cleaning service but no guarantee that if it'll work. If not work, then the coil need to be replaced but he wasn't sure if coil is covered under warranty. Later called another company. they found the freon level only has 1/3. They help me recharge it and told me there should be a leak in coil. Then I checked my policy, Coil repair or replacement is fully covered under warranty. So I called back, customer service people told me ok, yes, coiled repair is covered , but i still need to pay their 300$ cleaning service first otherwise if warranty company see it's dirty, they'll deny the service!!!???Then she threatened me if we don't pay for coil clean service they can come back to take pictures of my coil and tell my home warranty it's broken due to lack of maintenance!!! We were having trouble with our air conditioning on a Friday night and we called speedy air. They were at our house in an hour-- on Friday night!!! Great service. The technician diagnosed the problem and ordered the part. It delivered on Monday and they were right back over to install it. We have had no problems with the unit since. read more

they said they brought their A team to my house but they lost a portion of the A/C when it blew out the back of their truck. Other than waiting for them to go get new parts the install was good. Had to insist they not use card board instead of the insulated board that blew out of their truck. They did not do a follow up and they did not give a quote for electrical work as requested. The A/C works great that they installed, I have no complaints about the A/c they installed it has worked great. read more

They serviced by house 6 months ago, unfortunately because under my house warranty they're the once that are under the contract. Now i had to call out a new company. Turns out that our coil is broken, and has been broken for a long time, and the AC unit didn't have any freon left. Last time this company came out and I was complaining about the AC not cooling, they said everything looked fine. I asked about freon, they said they supposed they could add a few lbs in there. It's very frustrating to be lied to. read more

I scheduled an appointment, weeks in advance, for an electrician to meet me at my new house build. I wanted additional work done. I called the day before to confirm the appointment. I was assured that the electrician would be there "10am sharp". At 10:15 I called Speedy Electric. the Office Manager, Barbara, had no idea what I was talking about. Said she'd call me back. When she did, said that "someone" should have called me at 9:30pm the previous night to let me know that the electrician wouldn't be able to be there! (9:30 at night? Who is working that late!) My home warranty sent this company out because my thermostat was not turning on they came out took the guy about an hour or two to figure out that my thermostat had a short... Two weeks later my ceiling starts leaking from the A/c. Now I am not blaming him but I've lived here a month with no issues and he comes and all if a sudden I have to patch my kitchen Ceiling... Call my warranty again they send this same company back out and he tells me there is no leak from my duck work!!! A day and half later more leaking in my kitchen! This business responded to an American Home Shield service request. The cook top on my Jenn-Air stove would not heat large pots of water to boil, although it would heat smaller saucepans of water to boil. When the Speedy Electric contractor called to confirm the appointment I explained the problem in detail. Nevertheless, he said he would have to look at it. When he arrived, I demonstrated the problem with a large pot. He then said, "Oh, your cook top element has a sensor in it that prevents it from staying full-on with pots that are not completely flat on the bottom. That will be 75 bucks, please." Since he obviously had encountered this issue before, HE SHOULD HAVE EXPLAINED THIS TO ME ON THE PHONE, instead of wasting my money! Since he did nothing, I would like to be reimbursed for the $75. read more

Although parties who answer the telephone at Speedy Electric are "friendly" and "professional", the customer service at this company is less than professional. Three appointments later and our electrical issues still is not resolved. The first appointment was a "no show" after waiting through a four window without a telephone call, and the technician arrived on the second appointment time almost two hours late after a four hour window; however, only because we contacted Speedy Electric to follow up on the status. When speaking with an alleged owner / supervisor, the party stayed he question if we were at fault due to the repair not being completed. In addition, we experienced additional outages due to an error made by the Technician that had to be completed by another vendor. It is unfortunate to have to write a negative review. Although I appreciate the efforts to attempt to complete our repairs, I do not appreciate being questioned when it is apparent that this company needs to question their ethical and professional responsibilities. read more

I do not recommend this company. They were sent by my Home warranty company and after I had paid for $150 worth of freon the AC was not working any better than it was before they came. On the second visit they repaired something unrelated and still no change, which meant every night for 3 weeks it was 80 degrees in my house. On the 3rd visit they wanted to add more freon for $50! Why would I do that when I had already wasted $150 with ZERO results???? I am done with One Guard Home Warranty and Speedy Electric and still have an AC that needs repairing so I can sleep at night. read more

The technicians did a good job with the work, but failed to quote me any prices after assessing the project. They told me it was based on an hourly rate before they started, so I was under the assumption it was an hourly rate. My final bill was $444.00 for less than 3 hours of work. They charged me $120 to install a ceiling fan that took them under 10 minutes to install. Their install price was more expensive than the actual fan I purchased today. Unfortunately our latest experience with Speedie didn't go well. Apparently when you have all the work you can get, quality and customer service goes out the window. I called dispatch about the problem we encountered and she basically said that I'm glad you were able to fix the problem your self (after the technician wanted to charge us an additional $89 to install a new thermostat) but claimed the system was working fine with the current thermostat) because it would be another week for them to come back to resolve the issue... imagine not having ac for another week.... read more
