I contacted Speedy glass the end of October 2025 to replace a window. They measured the glass on November 6, and called me I week later to give a price. I agreed and paid half the cost upfront. In December I called them and I was told they would get back to me the next day on the status. Two weeks later no call back so I called again. This time leaving a voicemail. Still no call back. In January 2026 I went into their office and with no apologies was told weather was the delay, but the glass would be available for installation the following week. On January 20, almost 3 months since I contacted them the glass was installed by two very professional technicians. We pursued Speedy Glass (Gig Harbor) primarily because we like to support our local businesses. Also, this location had stellar ratings. (Lesson learned - ratings were dated.) The staff was very nice people. Doing business at this location, however, required our patience, understanding and tolerance. My husband and I made multiple (unnecessary) trips to have our auto windshield replaced. There were no advance or courtesy notifications of the following prior to our arrival, instead on our 1st trip - advised installer ill; 2nd Trip - advised damaged glass delivered; new glass will be ordered; 3rd Trip - glass installed (but hubby noticed a 2.5"crack); advised new glass ordered; 4th Trip - metal clips need to be ordered for install; asked to leave car at shop overnight and 5th Trip - glass finally installed, all was good. (BTW, we were told there was a new office replacement involved.) Speedy Glass, a trademark business, prides itself on being an industry leader, delivering the best service and top tier products to fulfill needs. Large rock took out the windshield on Gorst curve, and they were able to fit us in short notice and have new windshield installed the next business day. I had my sunroof explode on me as I'm driving on the freeway on Highway 16. I drove to speedy glass and they immediately took care of me. They offered to vacuum up the glass and prepare the area for a new Glass. Within two days they had the glass and had me scheduled to install and the installation took less than one hour. I've been told by other places it would be days. I had been waiting on another vehicle the last three months for glass to replace our Subaru Forrester's windshield. The other glass company had told me there was no glass to be found. Talking with speedy glass they'll have it in 10 days. The manager the office manager and all the employees seem to be customer centered. They ask if you've been helped they genuinely seem to care about your satisfaction. I went to Speedy Glass to get my cracked windshield fixed. They replaced it and I payed for it the same day. I find out while driving home that the rain censor is not working (I have never had a problem with it). They have me come in the next day to check what the issue is. They end up telling me that the rain sensor on the new windshield is faulty and that they need to replace it again. I'm very understanding at this point because I realize things happen that are sometimes out of your control. The manager then tells me that there are no tint visor windshields on the aftermarket, so I would have to pay extra if I want the same windshield. They tell me I will not have to pay extra if I go for the windshield that does not have the tint visor. At this point I'm annoyed, because they essentially want me to pay extra for the same part I had payed for. I don't make a fuss or anything and agree to take the windshield without the visor. I go back two weeks later to get the windshield installed, come back an hour later to find out that my rain sensor still doesn't work and my car still has the "faulty" windshield that they installed two weeks earlier. The manager proceeds to tell my husband and I that with newer cars there is more "gadgets and gizmos" and it makes it harder for them to get things working properly (my Mazda is from 2007!). They end up telling us that we will probably need to replace the rain sensor and it will cost us around $240. The manager did not take responsibility for the mistake and was not at all apologetic. The customer service was lacking throughout this entire experience, and we still have a windshield that does not work properly. In summary if you have a "new" vehicle that is from 2007 it will most likely have too many "gadgets and gizmos" to be fixed properly at Speedy Glass. For those of you that have cars from the 1950s you will probably receive adequate service. read more

1'st time On 4/23/2023 I took my 2004 Toyota Tacoma in to The Gig Harbor Speedy Glass for a front windsheild, it was never installed correctly, the bottom weather stripping was about to fall off going down the road making a rattling sound sound. 2nd time took it back and the technician pushed down the bottom strip which was'nt sealed to the glass so there was a gap for water to get in behind the glass. 3rd time I brought it back I notice a crack on the lower bottom left side of widow, had 2 technician come out and look at it and couldn't figure out why it happen. So they drove it in side the shop for there I guess the manager of the installation dept. to look at it. Drove back out and showed me that there was a rock chip on bottom corner of th winsheild. Long story short there wasn't a rock chip before they drove it in the shop. Talked to the office manager and she pretty much just hung up on me. Plus there shop dog tried to bite me. Called late in the afternoon to have a rock chip repair and they got on it almost before I got out of the car. My insurance State Farm wouldn't cover the cost. State Farm is the only company not to cover chips. BUT speedy glass did it for free for convenience. I have done business here before and will recommend it to everyone. read more

S***lite wanted to charge me $150.00 more over what I paid at Speedy Glass for a windshield replacement. Initially, my small windshield crack was repairable. So I went through my insurance who connected me to S***lite. They informed me it would be a free repair due to the size, however, they would not be able to get to me until a week from that day. During that period the repair became a replacement. Speedy Glass gave me a quick reasonable quote, provided me quality service and I was in and out in just over an hour. If your shopping around, at least get a quote from these guys, even that process is quick and easy. read more

A rock chipped my windshield. I went to Speedy glass. I'll give it a 1 star just because the work was done. But I'll tell you why it wasn't a 5. I filed a glass claim through my insurance to get that part squared away and the work order was sent to their shop. I picked them because they are near my work and have a pretty decent rating. I call them and asked if appointment is necessary and they said for rock chip repairs you can walk-in before 4pm. I arrive at 3:45pm and not a single greeting. All I got was a confused stare from a lady with black hair at the front. I gave her the run down and she sighs like she was so unhappy I walked in. I gave it a chance and kept professional. At this point after giving her the run down, there were no other words exchanged. I stood at the front counter staring at her unpleasant face for 5 minutes and finally she asked me to have a seat. She sounded so annoyed. I felt wrong inside. I felt like I ruined her day walking in. I kept silent. I heard her other coworker behind her say, "see it's a good thing you're here." She rudely replied, "this isn't my job." Then the other lady said "we are a team." Still no words was said to me, wasn't guided as to what will happen, the product they offer, asked me to show them where the chip was, nothing. I even thought about getting my wipers replaced and get the coating added to my windshield as it sounded cool after seeing their sign, but I felt like I would bother the lady if I had inquired further or had asked for additional service. I got up and finally mentioned politely, "should I have made an appointment instead?" And offered for me to come back another time. I asked if it was a bad time for me to come. Then she smiled probably noticing that I can feel her negative vibe and said "it's fine, I already started the paperwork." The she comes out to my car and after about 10 minutes she comes back in and said it's done and to sign the paperwork. No instructions, no feedback. Unless I asked, there is no interaction whatsoever. I will never come back nor refer anyone here. I should have stuck with my insurance's preferred shop, Safelite. I manage a business locally here in Gig Harbor and I treat everyone that walk in the door like royalty. They are the ones that give me business which is why I can pay to have a roof over my head and have food to eat. I'm not asking for royalty treatment. But at least the minimum required for the service my auto insurance pays for which I pay for. I could have chosen to go elsewhere, but it's a risk we all take. I hope every employee in that store reads this and learn something new today. read more

He mentioned they were too busy to measure for at least two weeks. While I'm happy that local businesses are busy, his customer service skills are so poor that I won't consider them. Don't. Just. Don't. Don't even call those nuts. They'll forget to order your window pane. They'll screw up the order. They'll blame the wrong window pane on their supplier. They'll forgot to order you the correct pane. It takes over a week to figure out that nothing has been re-ordered. You ask for a refund, they don't care a bit. Sure thing they say, no problem they say. No apology, no attempt to fix the mess they made. On top of everything, you will have to wait for the corporate office to issue a refund. They can't even do that. Only takes 4-6 weeks to get your hard earned money back. Still faster than the brains work in that glass shop, obviously. Bottom line: Better get a piece of plywood before calling this so called glass shop. Yes, buy local. But not at speedy glass. Ding dongs.... read more

I can't say enough nice things about this shop. We dropped our car off 4 minutes after close, and it was done by 10am the next day (Christmas eve!). They did all this with patience and a smile. It was just so nice to be well taken care of since we were traveling to be with family and just sort of panicked about getting our window fixed. Just stopped to have a rock chip fixed. Without my consent or permission the glass technician started to drill my tiny rock chip and turned it into a 7" long crack. Their only response was "well it would have cracked anyway by the end of the day". Totally unprofessional. Talked to the owner, Steve, same response. I had a great experience with Speedy Glass when they replaced my windshield. They did a thorough and expert and fast job. I am an artist and have done business with them for years, cutting specific sized specialty glass for my framed art. They did a very good job. The past two times I have ordered glass, I was on hold "forever" listening to annoying music. When I finally did get connected, I was told they weren't sure when the glass would be ready but they would "call me". This last time when that happened...I asked if they could have it for me in the next 3 days... I was still told they didn't know and they would "call me". I went to another supplier. I am driving to Lakewood to pick my glass up today (a same day turn around) ... so disappointed that I can't shop locally any longer. Speedy Glass is awesome! They really live up to their name. We had to replace a window in our home as the seal had cracked and the glass had fogged up. They gave us a prompt and reasonable estimate and the glass came in sooner than expected. They were on time for installation and did a great job installing it. Because our window frame was tweaked due to settling, it wasn't a particularly easy installation and one of the sliders on the window (not the replacement pane) did not reinstall perfectly. Speedy Glass spent some time with it and it now works well. We are very pleased and would definitely recommend this company! read more

I've used Speedy for several projects over several years. They've replaced a few cracked windshields as well as several windows in 3 different homes. Customer service is excellent. Timely appointments are available. Installation is done professionally and I've never had a leak. They've also custom-made a few glass tops to protect wood table tops and night stands. Speedy Glass technician was very talented. Our front door carved glass panel had broken and dropped below the moulding. Technician was able to remove the trim, fix the panel and put everything back in place like new. This was a huge savings because replacing that door would have been well over $1,000. We've also had them replace several of our Milgard windows since the seals don't seem to last very long with that product. My experience with the employees at the Gig Harbor location has been extremely pleasant. In fact, one of the gentleman even taught me how to remove a small slider window so I could bring it in to the shop for repair and do the installation of new window on my own. It sounds crazy but I felt proud when I put that window in by myself. It wasn't easy for me..but I did it and saved money in the process. Just phoned them today for an appt. as more Milgard seals have broken. I miss old-fashioned single pane windows! read more
