Took my car for windshield replacement. They could not complete the job, I drive an Audi and they could not calibrate the windshield. Had to pay them for crappy work then spend an additional $500 to go to the dealer to get the windshield fixed. Turns out their tech reinstalled the camera backwards. Seriously? How does a windshield installer not know to put the camera back in the same way? Go elsewhere, maybe find a place with techs who know how to do the work, wish I had. I am now out an additional, unnecessary $500. I would not have lost so much money if they had simply completed the job correctly. read more

Took my car in for a windshield. They INSTALLED IT WRONG. I had to take my car to the dealer and pay an additional $250 to get it installed correctly. YES, YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY. THE PEOPLE WHO INSTALL WINDSHIELDS CAN'T PUT THEM IN THE RIGHT WAY. I CONTACT THEM, provide all the documentation from the dealer that they did it wrong. They say they will make it right. THEY LIED. STRAIGHT UP LIED. They did not do one thing or contact me again. Poor customer service. Poor quality of work, obviously, if the techs do not know how to put in a windshield correctly. Cold and professional but they get the job done well. At least the tech who worked on my car did but I cannot speak to every tech who works there. I didn't catch his name so I apologize for that but I am very satisfied with my new windshield. Making the appointment was confusing because my insurance company told me that all I needed to do was call the glass replacement shop of my choice and that they would handle all of the insurance information. When I called Speedy to make an appointment, I was informed that I needed to call my insurance company back and file the claim myself. I did so and on the day of, I showed up for my appointment about 15 minutes early. They wasted no time checking me in and within minutes, my car was whisked back to the repair shop. This place replaces or installs all types of glass from auto to home and probably more. They have a small showroom in the building with home windows and shower doors etc... There is a TV on the wall but they didn't turn that on but they offer free wifi should you need it and they also make fresh hot popcorn and offer free coffee and water. It was a cross between an emergency room and an auto dealership. It only took about an hour and I was on my way! There was no charge to me because I have a zero deductible auto glass policy and so they handed me my keys and I was on my way. If you don't know about the zero deductible auto glass policy, I highly recommend you ask your insurance agent about that. It costs me only $5 a month and you never pay a deductible for broken auto glass. I also recommend having Speedy do the replacement. read more

This is my second time at this shop. The first time was for a drivers side window which they did in a timely manner and cleaned up all the broken glass thoroughly. This last time was my rearview mirror fell off my windshield and I had taken it to the dealership and they couldn't attach it so I brought it here. They took one quick look at it and then glued it back on. They didn't even charge me. I'm impressed with the service here and will return for any glass needs. read more

Lousy service. My driver's side window was broken and there were chips everywhere. I went to their office and they told me that my glass needed a special order, which was not surprising, since I have sport car. I asked them if they could clean out the glass in the car while I was there and the receptionist said ok. I waited a while for them to do it and when the car was brought back, there was still broken glass to be cleaned. I asked them to do a bit more and they did. A week later, the new window arrived and it was installed. Six months later, the window motor broke and I took the care to a friend who worked on cars. When we took off the door panel, we discovered that the window motor cable was cut and there was broken glass everywhere that had likely been the agent of destruction. It cost me over $300 to order a new/used motor and regulator and have it installed with my assistance. Thanks Speedy Glass; you're too speedy to do a good job. read more

Brought my van here a day after it was broken into. I was calling around to different places and they were giving me 7-14 day timelines. I called speedy and they were able to get my glass here the next day and get the work done quickly and efficiently. When I got my car back everything was clean except my window was not going up and down. They came out quickly reset the motor and got it going for me, and told me of something goes out of whack to go ahead and bring it back and they would work on it. Great guys, speedy service, offered coffee, water, and television while I waited. Thought I was going to be here for at least 2 hours. They had me in and out I'm like 45 minutes. Another victim of the Tacoma BB Gun Shootings, my rear quarter glass needed replacing. The glass was special order / dealer-only, and Speedy made it happen. Due to the recent boom in business, they weren't able to get me in as soon as I wanted, but all the same, they accommodated my request to meet at my office and come to my parking garage to perform the installation. The guys were pleasant, courteous, and worked swiftly! Even recommended a tint shop nearby to have my newly-minted glass re-tinted. They took good care of my vehicle and were generally stellar individuals. Would recommend and will call again. read more

They tried hustling me homie. What the fuck I look like, a sucka to you!? Brought my vehicle in to have my window replaced but the incompetent individual who did the installation, installed a rear side window that was clearly too small for the frame. As I was driving off, I felt the breeze seeped through the window and a whistling sound can be heard. I immediately brought my vehicle back in but was told that I had to wait another week to get it repaired. I informed them of their unacceptable work and asked why if the window was cut too small, why didn't they just informed me for a redo and apologize for the inconvenience instead of hoping I wouldn't noticed. I woudlve not only respect the realism, I wouldve 5 stars you up and continued our decade in a half relationship.. I've been coming to this particular Speedy since 2001 and have recommended all the family, friends, and associated hoodsters to this establishment anytime their windows were damaged by gunshots, bats, rocks, crazy ex's or just by plain ole living in the hood and this is how you repay me? Clearly, must be a new ownership because the previous times, their CUSTOMER SERVICES and workmanship were exceedingly up to par.. And even though I noticed 4 wifi's services under 'speedy glass', I didn't quite understand why in the hell don't you provide wifi for your waiting customers- Its 2016! Unless it was only me that you've denied it too. Also, it is pivotal to note to my fellow yelpers, as I do any other time when I bring my vehicles to a shop, ALWAYS TAKE PICTURES AND VIDEOS (WITH THE TIME AND DATE) OF YOUR CAR IN THEIR LOT PRIOR TO YOU LEAVING! It's the little things that impressed me. Fresh popcorn. A surprisingly decent little coffee bar set up. Slow close toilet seats with the toddler attachment. A fun kids area. Not just an old worn out coloring book, but a small table with several newish coloring books, fresh crayons, books, a basketball hoop with nerf balls, mega blocks and that giant foam alphabet puzzle. All sectioned off. Visible to the main waiting room, but a place meant to contain and entertain young kids. Service was quick. Had some issues with the insurance company, but that's my insurance fault, not theirs. They couldn't get me in day of, but I had both a window and windshield to replace and they got me in first thing next morning. This is my second time using Speedy Glass, and both experiences have been great. When my windows were smashed this last time, my best friend mentioned that she had a great glass place. It's funny how excited we were to find out we both had the same great glass place! I won't use anyone else! read more

We showed up at the counter on a Thursday after getting our windshield bashed with a huge rock. The lone employee answered the phone while assisting us, but instead of putting the person on the phone on hold, continued to help him instead. Before he answered the phone, he quickly told us the windshield wouldn't be able to be replaced until Monday. We told him we were willing to drive to another facility if they'd be able to replace it sooner. This was essentially when the phone rang and we got the shove off. We called SafeLite instead and they were EXTREMELY helpful, getting us an appointment for the next day. The additional star for Speedy Glass is giving them the benefit of the doubt. read more

Woke up the day after Thanksgiving to a smashed rear windshield from what looked like a BB gun shot. Thanks Tacoma. Not very happy to say the least. This place was the only shop that could take my car before Tuesday and they triple checked to make sure the specialty glass made the truck for delivery before making the appointment. Originally told us they couldn't fit us in but ended up being able to squeeze me in. Dropped my car off at noon and it was ready by 2. So so grateful they made the schedule adjustments for me. Quick, efficient service and I'm very happy with the work. Hopefully I won't have to go back but if I need window work, I'll definitely go to this location. read more

These guys are great! Not only did they have the best price on a drivers window replacement (anti-break-in tip: Never leave your GPS mounting hardware where someone could see it, even in a supposedly "safe" area), but when shards of glass had fallen into the door frame, they went in and vacuumed it all out repeatedly until the door was good as new. The shop is clean; the waiting area is comfortable, and they work quickly. My car is my prized possession, so it was more important to me that it be done right. The folks at Speedy Glass in Tacoma did it right the first time. Furthermore, they warranty their work! I'll always take my glass claims to this shop. read more

Mike bought this place recently. He's polite, kind, and very upfront about costs (my quote from them included tax total price). The place is nice, comfortable, has free coffee and water available, and has free Wi-Fi for customers. They were prompt, vacuumed out the bits if broken glass left in My car from the smash and don't grab, and bear every other local glass repair place by at least $15. They were also able to accommodate the repair the same day that I called, something that most of the other sites were unable to do. Highly recommended. When the crack in my windshield becomes untenable, I will bring my truck back here. read more

Speedy???? Not likely. Called to see if I could get a quote was told due to car type and different items on car needed to stop by, no problem. Stopped in and was given the garbage can service as if I was a bother. Okay people get busy, was told they needed to check on some pricing and would call with quote and install dates........and we wait and wait and wait. Waited 4 hrs for a call then went to Genuine Auto Glass, walked in got helped promptly, was told they needed to call me with appt as the glass was a special order, called me 15 mins later. Had the passenger side window on my truck replaced the Speedy Glass technician was prompt, professional, and courtesy.

I needed to have my windshield replaced. These guys had it done in about an hour. Although it looks like they did a quality job installing the new windshield, the outer glass trim (on both sides) came back scratched and some of the black paint was rubbed off in several spots exposing the metal below. When I confronted them about it, they told me it was natural wear and that they did not do it. It clearly looks like tool marks to me and I know that the bare metal exposed on the trim was not there before. Never the less, they did volunteer to touch it up with some paint... Although I declined to have them do it. read more

Don't have them cut mirrors for you. They have an over priced, cheap, and extremely fragile mirror. Their customer service is fine until something goes wrong, then they become hostile. I purchased 4 mirrors and two of the four were broke when I opened the one sheet of paper wrapping at my house. When I called Mike at speedy glass he told me it was my fault and they must have broke in route to my house. He helped me load the mirrors and told me they would be ok with how they were being transported. Now he says he knew they would never make it ok. Speedy glass refuses to refund, replace, or repair the mirrors. read more

My observation hole on my hominid transport device had seen better sun and moon cycles to say the least. The businesses front desk homosapien was pleasant and accommodating when I rang. Upon arriving I was treated like the "homosapien" I am. My observation hole was replaced in 1/24 earth day to my gratitude. Also the consessions and couch are respectable. I did not consume popcorn from their popcorn contraption though the smell lingered in the space and smelled delicious. This time, however, I went in for another small chip repair about the size of a dime expecting a similar size repair like it was last time. This turned out to be terrible: a permanent blotch on my windshield about 4 time the size of the original chip. Never going back. read more

Last week someone broke into my car and I was very upset (obviously).. My insurance referred me to another place that was going to cost almost $100 more and make me leave my car there all day on my only day off. I called speedy glass the next morning and spoke with Mike, his quote was much less, and even though they needed to order the window, he sent a technician to my work (all the way in Tukwila) the next day to replace it. They also cleaned all of the glass out of my backseat. Thank you for turning a really stressful situation into a much better one! If this shit ever happens again I'll be calling you! read more

Best customer experience! I just had one of my car windows replaced at Speedy Glass on S Tacoma Way. I made the appointment over the phone, and they ordered the glass and installed it the next day at a much better price than a nearby competitor had quoted me, and 24 hours sooner! From start to finish, I was in and out of the shop in 54 minutes. The time flew by in the waiting area stocked with a flat-screen TV, refreshments and magazines. The staff was genuinely friendly. Best of all, they vacuumed out my car -- a happy surprise for me. After I drove away, I noticed the window moved about one millimeter when I rolled it up and down, and I could hear the sound of a tiny glass pebble stuck in the track. I called Speedy and they suggested I bring the car right back so they could take a look at it. I'm going to wait a week to see if it works itself out. If it doesn't, I'll take it back, and I'm sure they'll fix it. It's a great glass shop! read more

This was a terrible experiences, Not only did they come when I was gone and measure the wrong window to be replaced, they were going to order it tinted when my windows are clear. I caught the mistake and had it corrected. On the day they put the windows in the guy used his pry bar to knock the plastic frame back in, putting nicks all along the edges of the frame. When I heard the pounding I came out to see what he was doing and asked him why he was not using the correct tool, he said he could not find it. I went to my garage to find a rubber mallet and when I got back he had gone out to his truck and miraculously fount it right away. I believe he was just to lazy to go get it. when I pointed out the nicks he was making in the plastic frame, he said: no one ever looks at that. I said: that doesn't give you the right to damage my property. in the end they came out two times to measure, once to check that the glass was indeed clear and twice to get the windows in correctly. 5 trips to get it right, I don't think speedy glass trains their people properly. It was a disaster beginning to end and they say they are #1 in customer satisfaction, I think not! read more
