An absolutely awful experience. Do NOT use Speedy Glass Kingsway's services at all costs! - Condescending, dishonest staff providing misinformation. I brought my vehicle in for a very small rock chip repair, which is covered by ICBC (so no cost to me). The front desk takes my paperwork and keys and brings my vehicle in. I return approximately 1 hour later, and sign the ICBC authorization letter for the rock chip repair. Minutes later, the staff inform me that they caused further damage/cracking to my windshield, and that it will need to be entirely replaced (at an additional cost of $500 - my glass deductible). They advise me that they can book me in for the replacement. Very upset, I decided to not utilize their services any further and bring my vehicle elsewhere. Now here's the kicker - the technician informed me that there is an approximately 8% chance of the repair causing further damage. This was NOT mentioned at any point prior to them taking my vehicle in. Furthermore, I did NOT sign any paperwork indicating the risks of further cracking. The technician simply informed me that their "demo / example glass" at the front desk and a supposed verbal confirmation of the risks is all that they provide! On top of that, after picking up my car, a significant dent / paint damage appeared on the hood area of my car, right next to where they would have been performing the work! It appears that a metal tool or similar was struck against the car. This was not disclosed to me at all, and I am certain it was not there before! I received an estimate from a body shop and due to the dent/depth of the damage, it is a $1000+ repair bill! Furthermore, after calling ICBC and taking my car to a few other shops, I was informed of the following: a) It is not the policy through ICBC for me to have signed for the repair work, when the windshield was further damaged. It appears that Speedy Glass Kingsway was attempting to process the repair work through ICBC falsely. When damaged, the customer does NOT sign the ICBC paperwork. ICBC had to manually void this from their system, and they reached out to the shop to understand why they had not voided it. b) Two other ICBC accredited shops saw the windshield afterwards, and mentioned the supposed 8% risk of damage (which again was only disclosed to me afterwards by Speedy Glass Kingsway) is completely out of line. Speedy also tried to tell me that due to the chip being in the corner of the windshield, it was a much higher chance of failure. The other shops confirmed it was nowhere near close enough to the edge for this factor. The other shop indicated to me they have done hundreds of ICBC repairs and have not had any issues with further damage. Whilst it of course is possible, it would be MUCH less than the 8% chance I was told after the fact. And other shops always advise customers to sign on the potential risks of the above. Had Speedy informed me it was such a high chance, I would have just left the chip without repair! It was microscopic, the size of a pencil tip. I submitted a formal complaint to head office and am waiting to hear back on this as well. It's impossible to get in touch with someone from their head office - I called 10+ times only to be left with voicemail, and had to submit a manual / email complaint. Pictures below/attached. Brought our car in to replace the windshield after being damaged by a rock. The staff were amazing, super polite and helpful. Originally, our car was supposed to be in for 3 hours but the job was completed in less than 1.5 hours. Fingers crossed we never have to replace our windshield again but if we do, we'll be returning to Speedy :) Oh! They also vacuumed the inside and gave the dashboard a quick cleaning. read more

really poor customer service. they don't stand behind their work. they didn't install my wipers properly, as documented by my mercedes service. they couldn't even callibrate my navigation system. the wipers become loose, broke off and damaged my windshield. now they won't take responsibility. my advice is only go to your dealer read more

The worst and inhuman service ever. I drove to Kingsway branch Wednesday Aug 19 2020. The driver glass completely shattered and broken into. Glass every where. My belonging stolen. I had been trying to reach them over the phone and no response! Waiting for ever. I called Broco glass and got somehow to them. I parked the car not in the correct place (my bad) just to talk to the guy. He who claimed was manager gave my crap for my parking. I told him I need help. He said call. I said I have been on line for 20 min. He said it's covid!! With a lot of attitude and then said we are busy today. I parked my car properly and put my mask on. Told him while crying that I am clearly in distress and need help and all he is giving me is hard time on my park, covid and no service. By that time I am crying but also my voice was raised as I was very stressed. All he did is at that point tell me to go elsewhere as he refuse to give me service. Go elsewhere. Repeat my with the worst tone ever. Never ever pne should go to them and especially that man again. This was by far the best customer service experience in a long time of my living in Vancouver! Making appointment was a breath, then I got a reminder by e-mail and by phone about upcoming appointment, and once I got there, they paid for my transfer to work and for return back to Speedy Glass for car pick-up, wow! There were 2 people at the front desk, very nice and polite and ready to help, both ladies (the one whom I gave the car key to, and the one who return them to me) went out of their way to help, they were very nice, very fast and professional. I was really impressed, and couldn't believe the quality of customer service I got. The job with my windshield was done well and I got a call as soon as my car was ready. Highly recommend this place, and although I live in Richmond, I would use only Kingsway location of Speedy Glass for all possible auto glass problems. Thank you! read more

it took a week to get the rear window glass in, and they didn't clean the broken glass out of my hatch window so for a week broken glass fell into my hatch, then they ordered the wrong glass and told me to come back, then my car wasn't ready... read more

Not only did they drive her to work during the repairs but they gave her taxi vouchers so she could return to the shop once the repairs were complete. Just brutal service . Cancelled twice and rebooked several weeks down the road each time. Was called both times to cancel only an hour before my appointment. I have an hour commute so was on the road. Was told all techs called in sick first time and now "THE GUY" is in hospital. Hope thats not true however can't say I believe them! Each time they cancelled I am told not covid related. Yes it tough to get good staff but when you only provide one service you would think you would have it nailed down. Stopped in here yesterday for a quote to fix a windshield chip. After standing in front of the shop area for a few minutes, no one acknowledged I was there. I walked into the shop and employee #1 yelled, yes yelled at me that I wasn't allowed in the shop. Exiting the shop to the office area employee #2 yelled the same thing at me. There's no need to yell at a customer unless your workplace culture sucks and you show it by yelling at customers. Someone else is getting my business. read more

So while watching my mom's car while she was on holiday, I got a broken windshield (yikes) so I called speedy expecting it to take weeks to get a late model OEM windshield for my mom's new Lincoln. After twenty questions about the type of Windshield It need ed she said .... bring it in at 1! 3 Hours later New Lincoln windshield in my mom's new Lincoln car. They even processed it under her insurance so all I had to pay was the deductible. Over all fast and painless, just how I like it. read more

I had my 1997 Benz windshield Changed for ~$500 and they cleaned the car for me, and helped me with other parts of the car that needed help. My rear window was smashed, so I went to Speedy on 12 and Kingsway in Vancouver to ask for help. Their technicians had problems understanding how an automatic rear door is operated, and found them forcing it manually which puts a strain on the hydraulics of the car. It was 4.30pm and they were in a hurry to close the shop so the foremen in charge told me to take the car to a repair shop because the rear wiper motor is damaged. I am an engineer, and tried to demonstrate that the motor is fine (and it is), and he told me to speak with his manager. The manager told me that I should take my car to a repairs shop because his worker said it cannot be repaired. Very rude people, no customer care or emphaty, no technical expertise. I want to mention that i have a brand new top end car, and when I came to their shop my rear door and window were carefully covered with poly because of torrential rain. They took the poly off to examine the car, and didn't bother to put it back on. I fixed it the best I could as they were watching me (didn't offer to help), and left the shop. Never again I will go to one of their shops. I still cannot believe how rude these people can be including their manager. read more

Went on a road trip and got 2 rock chips on my windshield. Called to get an estimate and for the 2 it was less than $120 taxes in! The morning of my appointment, I was 15 minutes late and called them to let them know. They were really cool about it. They repaired both chips in just over an hour and even included a free Rain-X treatment or similar, which is perfect with the rainy season upon us. In the waiting area they even had complimentary coffee, WiF and plenty of magazines to help pass the time. Oh and they even offered taxi vouchers for me if I wanted to go have breakfast somewhere while my windshield was being repaired. Super service! Would highly recommend if you need your windshield repaired or replaced. read more

I brought my car in yesterday because a rock chip in my windshield suddenly developed a star pattern and began to spread. I was greeted very professionally by Patricia who asked me about my car's year make and model and promptly confirmed that a replacement could be done. We set up an appointment for today, and she informed me that the work would take four hours. I dropped off my car this morning, and received a call, some hours later, that my car is ready. The work was done on time, the work is spotless (as is my car - it was vacuumed), and the cost was covered by my insurance minus my deductible. I am very pleased with my experience with Speedy Glass and would not hesitate to recommend the Kingsway location to my friends. read more

Long story made short - 1995 camper van, windshield replacement, not by Speedy = disaster. The windshield wasn't right, the rubber around it was flapping in the breeze (not the right one and not installed correctly). Thanks to the wonderful gentleman at the other company's head office, we were sent to this Speedy Glass to have them "fix" the bad job. Did they ever, looks amazing, everything fits, they replaced our wipers at no charge and they were nice folks. I will not hesitate to recommend these people to all and any that need these services. read more

I'm extremely impressed with staff and service of this particular speedy glass branch. What had occurred was my windshield was chipped by a rock that flew from under a construction truck. The chip was quite small, it actually looked like a spider / snake bit their fangs on my windshield. So I immediately did my researched and found speedy glass which was near my workplace. Dave had called my cell to confirm my appointment and what the injury to my car was. When I got there, Dave greeted me instantaneously and was so polite and kind. He then introduced me to Moises, who assessed the damage to my vehicle. The speedy glass team found out the damage to my windshield was very minor, and just did some minimal chip repair to my car... FOR FREE!!! This is unheard of! I insisted on paying them, but Dave refused and said, the damage was so little, he didn't want to charge me. Wow!! Well, they just got a new loyal customer! So if anything ever happens to my ford again, I know I'll be returning to Dave and his team. =) read more

I will state this is a review of the managers customer service etiquette. I had dropped by two weeks ago about what happened to my windshield and the service person then was lovely. My appt today was to be completed by 2:30, 4 hours of work time my car was there as scheduled by them for10:30, so I prepared my day around that. Was called at 2:45, en route to the shop to be told they'd only just started the work. Yes, told they could stop and rebook appt as I was needing by a certain time. I have already lost a day and so couldn't foresee another day workable. Called back requesting someone could be there possibly just after 5, shop closing hours, as I rearranged best I could and was told in no way going to make that happen. Was told they lost a staff to injury (first I heard of it) I empathized and said understand and I need some help in my way of rearranging my day, too. He began to be rude, condescending and irate so I asked where I can complain. He said he's the manager. He then kept arguing with me and never acknowledging what I was saying. When he continued to be awful with customer service, I asked for a higher up, he could not provide but he'd be sure to have it for me so, in his words, "you can complain to your hearts content" and then he hung up. I'll be contacting BelRon Canada, the parent company. Again, the other service people were great. Manager was awful!! read more

Phoned the central booking place on Saturday and, after an extremely slow detail-gathering conversation, was given an appointment for 9:00 am Tuesday morning. Was told the cost and was told that it would take 4 hours. For some reason, was not booked into the closest one to me (York St) but to the Kingsway one instead, which I found out only through Monday's e-mail reminder. After making arrangements for return transportation from half-way across town, we arrived, and the guy said he couldn't take my car then but suggested I come back later. Since we had driven so far to arrive for our appointment, this seemed to me to be an unreasonable request. He hadn't been prepared for us at all, as he did not know the cost or even what window was broken , (blamed Telus for the system being down). Would not let us leave the car because papers needed to be signed that he couldn't produce. Also said that he would not be able to honour the 4-hour time to complete the repair. When I mentioned the closer York St. location, he phoned them (using Telus?) and said their system was up (clearly Telus was not the problem) but they'd have to phone around for parts because it was so expensive (hello, didn't we discuss the expense on the day I phoned for an appointment?) and that due to this, the other location couldn't do it in the time promised either, but that it would take an entire day and maybe two. I left, swearing that I would never return. What is the point of making an appointment if it isn't communicated to the shop? And what is the point of gathering all the detailed info and giving an estimate of cost and time, if no one acts upon it to order parts or is prepared to honour the time booked or the time to repair? "Speedy" is neither speedy nor efficient. Their appointment system is a joke and they seem to have absolutely no idea of customer service at all. read more

Not sure if this is a problem with this store in particular or that their website needs to be updated. I've used speedy auto glass in the past and was never disappointed previously. This time filled out their online form for an appointment. Received confirmation that my request for windshield repair was received and someone would call me. Nobody called me back or emailed me. Online form said they still had the service where they came to you for windshield repair. Also called to inquire about their services. Was told they don't actually do repairs anywhere but their shop now. My contact info was left online and I wasn't asked about my appointment when I called. Waited several days and nobody contacted me. Found another company in the area who were much more helpful, had better prices and they immediately ordered the parts and called me to arrange an appointment. read more

I went here a few years ago to have the goo put into a stone chip in my windshield. They did it quickly and for a very reasonable fee and all these years later, my windshield is still fine. They warned me they couldn't guarantee it, but I 'm so glad it worked. I'm sure there are lots of places that do the same thing, but I'll probably head straight back to this place when I need the same kind of service. It is so rare to receive such amazing customer service and complete professionalism these days but Jim and his crew went all out to solve the mystery of the leak in my Rav 4. After a mobile unit replaced my windshield, the next rainfall produced a small lake in the floormat of the passenger side. They cam back and tested - no leak from the windshield. More rain and more leaks. Took the car in and they tested further - no leak. UGH. Frustrated at this point. Took to Maximum Collision in South Surrey (also highly recommended) who spent 12 hours over two days to figure it out (and only charged me for 1 hour). They did find the cause and put in a temporary "plug" Speedy came back to see me and realized the problem was the cowl was damaged during the window replacement. They scoured the local yards for the piece and today it is all done. No charge. Happy old lady am I. read more

If you need auto glass repairs, this is the place to go! I had a side window in my car smashed in downtown Vancouver on a Saturday afternoon. I called several auto glass shops, including the Speedy Glass main line, and they all told me I would have to wait until Monday! How can one do the things they need to do in Vancouver rain for two days with a smashed side window? I called Speedy on Kingsway, where I had dealt before, and they told me to come right over and they would fit me in. They were sensitive to my needs, more than courteous, and put me on the road quickly with a job well-done. The people there are amazing!! read more

Do NOT go here, especially if you are not using insurance!! My deductible was $500 for my windshield and so I didn't want to put my windshield under my insurance, I wanted to pay cash instead. They quoted me $500 without insurance which I thought was REALLY high. So I called around and got a quote for $325 from Boyd on Southwest Marine Drive in Vancouver. Wow huge price difference!!!! So if you aren't using insurance do not go here, or even if you are using insurance don't go here they are super overpriced!!!! A waste of time and money. They'll "repair" the chip but sure enough it reappeared a year later. I assumed their life time guarantee meant they'd put more resin on the chip. But not so! Instead they offered to replace the whole windshield. They told me the chip could not be re-gooed with resin. It just felt all orchestrated and unfortuately I got roped in. read more

My Speedy Glass experience was wonderful until it became incredibly... nasty. Day 1 - Called Speedy glass to provide the make/model of my car and explained that I had a privacy back glass that needed replacement. Agent #1 booked a mobile appointment for me but cancelled it when a privacy glass was not available. Day 2 - Speedy glass mobile service guy #1 showed up with a regular back glass to install. He left and was nice/apologetic about the mistaken appointment. On the phone later, Agent #2, Cynthia, wanted me to drive out to the workshop for verification that the shattered glass was privacy-tinted. At the workshop, Cynthia confirmed that it was privacy and ordered one that would arrive around Day 5. She also checked for other damage, assuring me that all-related damage would be repaired under the same claim. So far, the service has been stellar. Day 5 - Agent #3 called to explain that the privacy glass had arrived but was "missing". Day 6 - Mobile service guy #2 called to say he was on his way to install my back glass: 1) I did not have an appointment; 2) He had the wrong glass. I'm baffled. Later, I spoke to Agent #4 (Patricia?) who was apologetic about the confusion. She promised to get to the bottom of 'things'. Later that day, she called to say the privacy glass had been found, but because no mobile service was available for several days, she recommended that I drive the car to the workshop (not a mobile service) and that my cab rides would be reimbursed. I remarked that this seemed costly, but she stressed that I need not fret about cost. She would take care of it. Day 8 - Drove my car to Speedy glass at 8am, as scheduled. Patricia said the privacy glass would arrive at 9am and gave me 2 vouchers for 2 cab rides. (The great service was about to decline rapidly.) To my astonishment on the cab, a voucher was only good for up to $12.50. It did not cover my fare. Upon reaching home, I could not reach Patricia on the phone. Another Agent #5 told me that the maximum value is clearly indicated on each voucher and that they do not reimburse for fares that exceeded this value. After strongly expressing my displeasure at this turn of attitude, Agent #5 said I SHOULD have paid the driver with 2 vouchers (something I was not privy to), but offered a reimbursement when I returned to the shop. Later that day, Agent #6 (Carl?) called to inform me that my original glass was not a privacy glass and that there was no OEM privacy glass for my make/model (why did previous agents inform me that the order had arrived?!). My only option was to get a privacy tint over regular glass, which could be done the next day. I lost my temper. After these confusing interactions, I no longer trusted anyone at Speedy Glass. When I was calm enough to verify if my car would be ready the next day, Agent #6 condescendingly indicated that they would work on my car then, but he did not promise that my car would be ready the next day. Furiously I told Carl that I would only speak to Patricia thereafter. He put me on hold for about 10 min before the line went dead. Agent #7, Luke, called soon after my call with Carl, to check in on me. He was new to the job and couldn't do much to help. He said that Patricia was busy on the phone trying to resolve the case of my (missing?) privacy glass. I told Luke that I didn't care now if the glass was OEM-privacy or regular-tinted-privacy glass. I wanted my car back and everything to be in working order. Luke thanked me for my understanding. That afternoon, my car was ready. They had installed a regular glass and applied a privacy tint. When I arrived at the shop, both Luke and Patricia had left. Agent #8 showed me my car and indicated the tint was 'fragile' when I tested its fit on my tailgate. Unfortunately, the 3rd brake light (attached to the back glass) did not work. Fearing it was an electrical issue, not just a fused bulb, I insisted on testing/replacing it with a new bulb. Agent #8 was extremely reluctant to do so. He said the fuse was broken (held it inches from my face for my inspection) and since the bulb wasn't broken, the damage could not be attributed to the accident. I told him I would not leave without proof that the electrical system was sound. Agent #8 briefly left and returned with a new bulb. The brake light worked. I offered to pay for it, but his tone had now softened and he offered to write off the expense of the bulb. After paying my deductible, I asked for reimbursement for my cab fares. Like the previous agent (Agent #5), Agent #8 tried to shrug it off with the same "policy" chatter. Again, I had to express my frustration about the whole experience and recount the false promises made to me, before I was reimbursed. As I left Speedy Glass that evening, I made a mental note that Not-so-Speedy-Glass will never see the headlights of my car again. I crossed my fingers and hoped that the replacement glass would not give me any trouble. I've simply had enough. read more

This next time was told by customer service to head down and they would tape the window as soon as I got there. The manager told no it would take 1-2 hours before they could do it. We had a windshield crack that likely resulted from a flying pebble. It hit low below the wipers so we didn't notice it until there was a 1 inch crack. It grew to 2 inches so we had to replace it through ICBC. We utilized Speedy's mobile service and the entire experience was top notch. They took down my contact info correctly. I got a confirmation call the day before and the service guy came to our house as agreed. He was very experienced and changed the windshield without any hiccups. In the end, he even vacuumed the car and wiped down all the windows. Super nice guy who gave service that wowed. Thank you. read more

For what they charge I would expect better Give it 3.5 If the rate was a bit more reasonable, then 4 out of 5 It always comes down to small thing and paying attention that counts specially in this business where it only takes a few blocks to either direction and you can find another one They vacuumed the car to get the broken glass out and put a temp plastic so I could drive the car and bring it back in the next day since they had to order it in from their warehouse But when I got into the car there was still a lot if broken glasses, so I cleaned some of up The next day I asked them to make sure that there is no more glass since I have a child passenger But upon pick I checked carefully and there were still some They forgot to call me when the car would be ready but they never did, so I called after a few hours to check and surely they had forgotten to do so The sticky tape that used around the window to hold the temp plastic in place had left a trace of black gluey mark and it was not cleaned And she acknowledged it by telling me that I could remove it easily when I clean the car next time Not a very gesture Nice people but need to step it up a notch read more

Made an appointment to get a chip on my windshield fixed, when I got there the chip was unusual. They asked me if I had had it fixed before. I told them that they had replaced my windshield 12 months before, but otherwise I had had no repairs. The technicians called me liar and said that the chip was smooth on both sides and that I had had it repaired. I will never go back, since I was paying out of my own pocket what reason did I have to lie. Also location is really difficult to get in and out of. read more

After i didn't receive a call, I called into the office to ask if they were going to come replace my windshield. She then said that has been sick and under the influence of medications which might have caused her to not fully book this appointment. ARE YOU KIDDING ME.
