I brought my car in on March 12 to get an oil changed. The gentleman suggested that I change all of the oils in my car and I agreed because I want to make sure that my car is running like it supposed to. Fast forward to last week; I am driving along heading to work and my check engine light comes on. I decided to go into the AutoZone to check and see what the issue was so I had them run a diagnostic. Come to find out, there was no oil in my car. I get synthetic oil in my vehicle and it is supposed to last longer. I am not due for an oil change until July 10 or at 66,000 miles and I'm not there yet. So please help me understand why I have no engine oil in my vehicle? Either the guy didn't put enough or the oil filter he put in is no good. Something is not right. I will never patronize this place again. I have come to this speedy lube a total of three times. Each time, I have been offered "extra" unnecessary services, which is quite frustrating. I prefer going to my Toyota dealership and paying the extra 10 bucks. Also, I once came here and got the free car wash that came with the oil change. What a horrible set up. They have two entrances (one from st George and one from stiles street).. The car wash line assembles right in front of the oil change lanes and you have to move up/back/around constantly to let cars in and out of the garage. Cars will also enter from st George and attempt to cut in front of you in line. The car wash is sub par. I opted for the 'gold shine' which includes inside and out plus wheels and ended up with a dirty film across my windshield and excess dirt on my wheels which I had to go and take care of myself. This would be acceptable at $10 but not at $18.95. Also- the store inside is overpriced.. Hint- drive to auto zone down the block for an air freshener less than 7$. Off to find another hand car wash. first time here, offered a $5 coupon through Yelp and they wouldn't honor it because it wasn't printed out and the owner wasn't there to approve coupon. nice way to conduct business and retain new customers. here's a tip; don't offer a coupon that states it just needs to be shown when paying and not honor it. read more

I have been using Speedy Lube for several years. I can say, that they used to be very pushy on getting extra work done when you went it for an oil change. They have done something to change that. I needed an oil change today before leaving on vacation. I went in, dropped my keys and waited for the sales pitch. About ten minutes later, the very professional young woman at the register called my name. "Your car is ready." I was shocked. I handed her a coupon I printed online, and then went in for my free car wash. Again, not sales pitch to upsell. Just pleasant, courteous help. Thank you for a job well done. read more

I decided to give this place a shot because I got a coupon in the mail in which I get a free car wash with an oil change. The mechanic frustrated because he persistently recommended purchasing additional services. Why would I get a tire rotation if I did it 2000 miles ago? Why would I want to buy the more expensive synthetic oil? Why would you ask me 3 times to purchase wheel shine services when I want a FREE carwash This place is not customer oriented at all. They only Care about maximizing their revenue even if it makes their customers uncomfortable. The only positive I can say was the cashier was very friendly. I looked at the reviews and other places have complained about the samething. As for the car wash it was decent. But why go when you don't trust the people there? read more

Out of all the places that I've gone for an oil change, Speedy Lube has by far done a decent and honest job on my cars. They go an extra leg when it comes to servicing your car. They'll ask you to come look at the price of the oil change as well as recommend services that you may need to do now or later on. People may take it as if they're trying to get money out of you, but if you say that you only have time and money for a simple oil change, they'll take it. The waiting area is comfy and has windows that you can look out into the garage and car wash areas. There's a massage chair, but don't sit in it if you don't tend to use it because it'll make this annoying sound to tell you to put money lol. The merchandise shelves are always stocked, and offer a lot of different products from fresheners, windshield wipers and cleaning supplies for your car. The best part I like about his place is the free car wash you receive after getting an oil change. The car wash is pretty good; they don't use heavy brittles to wash the cash. It's mostly done by hand. I never have to worry about unknown scratches or dents on my car. Plus if you check-in you get a $5 discount! Give ya car the best treatment! read more

Stay Away! Went for standard oil change. They had a large sign for an oil change and free car wash for 24 or 25 dollars. Sounds like a great deal. Then they start with the air filter is dirty, oil is old ect....the price climbed to $650, but they would give me a discount, all the work for $450. I will never go back again. read more

Don't go here! They are very unprofessional, I brought my BMW X5 for a simple oil change and all I got was a headache. The mechanic was just interested in up selling me with repairs I did not need. He also didn't have any consideration when entering my vehicle, he was completely dirty with grease and scum, but that didn't stop him. I watched as everyone who was there getting repairs done, were approched by the mechanics trying to get more money out of them. Customer service at this place sucks. worst experience ever. took my car there and they drained the engine but no oil. my car brake light came on. had to park the car because of trashy noise coming from the engine. took it to my mechanic and lo and behold no oil. my mechanic said I am lucky I did not lose my engine. ask to see video proof of them putting oil but no video with all the cameras in there. will never do business there ever again. really thought about doing jail time for this but my wife and mechanic said to relax. hope that thing goes up in smoke or go out of business. either or is fine by me. read more

Don't bring your black car here. They take the same shammy and wash your entire car with it from the top to the bottom. Then they take a brush with no soap on it and attempt to wipe down the roof of your SUV. The only thing you're doing is creating scratches all over your vehicle! I would come here again! read more

I came to speedy lube because i was looking to switch to a more local shop, and i couldn't have been more satisfied with the treatment i received here. First off the staff was very courteous and accommodating, greeting me with respect and concern for my needs. The oil change was very affordable and i was given a free car wash with it. I have to admit, I was hesitant to come here based on the not-so-great reviews I saw, but I needed an oil change and I didn't know where else to go. It was done in about 10 minutes and the while the guy did tell me I needed my transmission fluid changed, he was not pushy at all about it when I declined. Many people have complained about the car wash, but I thought it was fine - and it was FREE with the oil change. The car wash by itself was about $16, I think, which I think is a bit high for a basic wash. I wonder if they charge so much for a basic wash because they give them away for free with an oil change? I'd probably consider changing that pricing model and lower the cost of the car wash by itself and charge maybe $5 for a wash if you purchase another service, like an oil change. Anyway - service was good and fast. I'll be back in 3,000 miles. read more

Prices are not bad and waiting time is pretty quick. The bad point is they try to say something is wrong with the car and try to upsell you some BS thing for the car. When you get the free car wash the guy there always gives me a mean face like I am stealing from him. I would give this place zero stars if I could. I came here for a car wash on September 2nd. I selected the "gold shine" option, thinking it would yield me better results than a basic wash. As my car was returned, I inspected it and realized that my car was not properly vacuumed and the ashtrays were not cleaned at all. Also, there was still polish residue all over my tires, which noone bothered to wipe off. I was beyond furious, as this was the laziest cleaning job ever. Granted my car was not the cleanest to begin with, but thats why we go to the car wash, right? One of the workers saw my disgust and offered to vacuum it again, which was nice of him. However, it should not even have taken a second vacuuming to do it right. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I go here regularly and today I went here with a 10.00 off coupon. I went to the counter to pay and asked what was the total the girl advised 109.00 and then I presented my coupon and she applied it to the bill and said 104.00. I questioned how did you come up with that number? She said she applied the tax. The total is what I asked for prior to me adding the coupon. I agree with everything Dahlia Y. said. I went to this location last year and the mechanic that changed my oil was extremely condescending. I believe it was because I was a woman. He would never have spoken to me in that way if I were a man. He changed a filter without my knowledge. When I told him I did not ask for anything outside of an oil change, he had the nerve to get an attitude with me as if he was doing me a favor. I live in Woodbridge, and was driving through Linden and happened upon this place. It was busy so I knew I could take my time to clear out my truck before cleaning it! Not your average car wash. I am a stickler for detail so to see these guys go through everything I was happy to know I was in good hands with the hand car wash. Not only did it look clean, it smelled great. I use synthetic oil so I know it is a bit more costly but my ride is better for it. Well to see them check all of the vitals of the vehicle I knew I wasn't going to miss a beat. They do go the extra mile and for that I will drive the extra mileage to come here because what's near me is not nearly as good as what I found here! I was overdue for an oil change and I came to speedy lube because I had a coupon. They gave me the oil change with a free car wash for $20.28. I only waited about 15 minutes for the oil change since I was one of the two cars in there. When I went up to pay the girl at the desk she was very generous. do not bring your car to this service station. this station preys on the elderly. my 79 year old widowed mother went to this station for an oil change. her final bill totaled $691.11 the number of addtional services noted are incredible. fuel service care savings pka - 99.94 comlpete oil system flush - 79.99 total trans flush - 199.95 special atf charge - 28.00 radiator flush - 79.95 now check this out - rear pads and rotors - 249.95 this car did not need new rear pads and rotors - most cars never replace rear rotors especiailly since this is a front wheel drive honda with less than 70,000 miles. it has service records supporting all required maintenance has been performed at an authorized honda dealer ship. the pads and rotors were never shown to my mother. they were not provided to the customer upon pick-up of the vehicle either. i plan to check with the state of new jersey consumer protection agency concerning the disclosure of the last items. it is maryland law that such evidence be presented to the car owner. if you care about an elderly person, living on a fixed income, please stay away from this business. they are not concerned about your loved one's well-being only their pocket books! read more

Scam, Scam, Scam. Been a Speedy Lube customer, for many years. Today i had enough of there pressure, to get other services done. Every time the oil tech, always finds some sort of need, need for other services. It seems like i have to battle with them, just to get a simple oil change. At one point i went to another oil change, in st. George, next to McDonald's and the oil tech found everything fine. Then i go to Speedy Lube, and they pressure suggest other services. I just went someone else, and it was fine. Now you telling me, i have this, and that wrong. Kind of raises a red flag. Kind like all the youtube videos, on the SCAMS these oil lube place do. And the pressure this owner put on there workers to boost up profits promising there workers a small commission, on the expense of the customers. Lastly, the owner here is very disrespectful. He speaks to his workers, with a very down, pressure manner. And disrespect customers, not understanding, that the customer is always right. And with out customer, you wont be in business. Maybe is time, for the customers, to take there business, someone else. Instead of supporting, such unacceptable behavior. In closing, just read all the other unsatisfied customers review. Especially, all the reviews of this place pressuring customers to buy other services. Do yourself a favor, and go someone else.
