I explained to him that my vehicle had recent engine work done which included draining all the Freon and all I needed was for them to add Freon. He explained to me that it would require a Evac & recharge A/C service and that it would cost $190. I agreed and left. At 1:30pm he called me and told me they had performed the service but that the A/C compressor was not turning on and the system was not blowing cold air. He said that most likely I needed a new compressor but that they would have to diagnose it first and it would cost me $149. I told him that the AC was working fine before the recent engine work and that I would take it back to my mechanic. I asked if I could head over to pick it up and he told me he had to "put it back together" and would call me whenever it was ready. I never received a call. 4 hours later, I noticed they close at 6pm so I headed over and arrived around 5:30pm. Upon arrival, I was informed that they had removed all the Freon that was added and their explanation was that if the compressor needed to be serviced, the Freon would be lost anyway. (None of this was mentioned in our call) It was at this time that he informed me he wasn't going to charge me for the Freon but that I still had to pay $190. Apparently there was an extra cost for the Freon he never mentioned to me, I don't know how much Freon it takes and how much it cost but I was under the impression that the $190 price he quoted me included everything because obviously you need Freon to perform that service. I ended up paying $198.08 and left in exactly the same conditions I dropped my vehicle off. This was a complete waste of my time and money. The lack of knowledge and clear communication is horrendous. At the end they said if I fixed the compressor that I could bring it back and they would perform the A/C Evac & Recharge service again and only charge me for the Freon. I ended up fixing the problem ($15 A/C relay replacement) but now I need to find another shop because even though I already paid them and they offered to do the service again, I do not trust these people with my vehicle. If they would've left the Freon in the system my A/C would be working right now. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Doc new what to do, who to call for those weird questions and made it happen. Needless to say any furture work will be done here. To make it even better they were kind on the prices. Full safety inspection, new fluids, new clutch plate and parts, rebuild carb and clutch slave cylinder. All this required a trans drop. Labor and parts 2k. How do they do that? We also have bevy of new knowledge about our ride thanks to Doc and his wealth of knowledge.

The quality of the work was excellent and everything was handled professionally. The owner is very upfront, courteous, and transparent. He even offered to show me underneath the car while it was on the lift so I could take a look myself. That level of honesty and openness goes a long way, specially when I know I can be a little picky on how things are done considering it's modified! The rest of the staff was also very friendly and professional, and the whole process felt smooth and straightforward. On top of that, it was a great value for the work done, which is always a plus. It's really nice finding a trustworthy shop close to home that can work on modified cars without the typical dealership hassle. I decided to go to Lam's Auto Repair per a friend's recommendation and I'm really glad I did. Mr. Lam was able to inspect my car after I walked in on a Saturday morning. After 15 minutes he told me what was wrong and what needed to be done. I unfortunately also bought the wrong headlights but he was able to find some to replace them with in the shop. I decided to walk over to the lovely restaurants nearby while I waited and I was luckily able to get my car fixed within hours. His prices are very reasonable and he was very kind. I received a text from him today stating I am someone who apparently has money yet cries over the amount paid for parts. He's also threatening to sue me, which is VERY INTERESTING because he'll have to explain why in his response to my original review he states weather didn't allow him to work outside (we had clear skies in Houston both Saturday and Sunday) however, per his text messages, he couldn't make it to me due to being busy working on other cars. Originally, per his communication to me Saturday 1/17, the job was supposed to be done that Saturday since he received my parts in the mail Friday night, 1/16. I called him twice Saturday morning to discuss logistics but he didn't answer. I sent a text asking him to call me back and he never did. Instead, he sent me text stating he is unsure of the time but that he will be able to come to my home Saturday afternoon to do the job. Later, he text me that he would not be able to make it, but that he could come to my home the following day, 1/18, to do the job. I called him immediately upon receiving this text and again, he did not answer my calls. Sunday morning I reached out to him via text asking when he would come fix my vehicle. He said he would be at my home some time after 2pm. He never came nor did he advise that he would not be able to come. I text him Monday morning, 1/19, asking what happened. A few hours went by and no response. At this point I am no longer receiving any communication. I believed I was not going to hear back so I posted a review stating he's a thief. I finally heard back from him via text within an hour after posting my original review, shocking. He said he's for sure coming this time. Again, shocking. He also asked me to remove my review... considering he still had parts I paid for and that belonged to me in his possession. He delivered my parts to me that Monday evening. I no longer wanted him to perform the job so I immediately asked him to leave. He obviously doesn't understand professionalism nor the value of a man's word. He thinks this is about money. Very disappointing and unprofessional experience.
