Jesus! I read the reviews first but we were desperate! Our original movers were booked. My daughter found this one and told them exactly how many bedrooms and an inventory of the stuff we were moving. I told them the exact same thing when I called. Our move was scheduled from twelve to three. We were getting our keys in Brookfield and get a call they are at our house at 10:30 with the smallest moving truck I've ever seen! It was a 30 minute drive to rush and get home. We moved all the boxes. All they had to do was move our furniture and washer and dryer. Mario was obviously the most experienced out of the two. The other guy, Josh was uncoordinated. He dropped several things. Later, to find out from my husband, he said he was hungover. He broke an heirloom, my mother's large framed mirror. Now I'm fuming. I told them at booking it shouldn't have been more than 2 hours. They went from 1030 to nearly 430! I got charged for two hours of overages. This move was the slowest move in my life. Only .5 of a mile away! My bill was nearly $800. Never again! They should be called unspeedy men! I can only imagine the cost of they slowly moved out boxes! Very unprofessional and would not recommend. Booked two men for 3 hours to move from a studio apartment to a house. When the movers showed up they smelt like alcohol. One of the workers kept complaining about not feeling well and being up all night and was barely working. Took the whole three hours to load the about 20 boxes, bedroom set and couch onto the truck. Did not bring any tools to take furniture apart. Showed up to the new house and one of the movers was so sick he was throwing up in the yard and couldn't move anything. I ended up helping unload the truck. Was still charged for the extra hour, refused to call their boss. Called company multiple times and left multiple voicemails with the company. Finally got a call back when I called off of someone else phone. Explained the situation and requested a refund for the additional hour and was told someone would follow up in 48 hours. Has now been over a week with no answers, no refund, no call back. Have called multiple times, left multiple messages. Worst experience I've had with moving. read more

I feel like I've dealt with a completely different company than the one other reviewers hired. I am having my hardwood floors redone and needed to have a crew move sofas, a large dining room table, a heavy marble piece, coffee tables, and the large chest to the garage until the floors are done. The booking process with Jay Smith was seamless. The cost was $141.90 all inclusive, and it included two men for one hour, as well as the trip charge and tax. That is a little over $100 less than anyone else from whom I got a bid. Milwaukee Movers wanted $240 plus a trip charge, and that was their 'bargain offer.' CollgeHunks Moving wanted over $300. For one hour. Using COLLEGE KIDS. Think about that one for a minute. Ummm, just NO! Wow, someone sure figured out how to exploit poor college students. And I started to ask myself how careful they would be with my things. All things considered, I decided to roll the dice with SpeedyMen instead. When I read the reviews on Yelp prior to my scheduled time, I panicked. I called Jay at SpeedyMen to relay my concerns. I got the voicemail and again, got very anxious. I did not leave a message. But Jay saw I had called and returned my call almost instantaneously. I felt more confident about things after speaking with Jay. He even went the extra mile to get the movers to my place earlier than the time upon we originally agreed. He said the drivers would be there at 11 a.m. and that they would call first, one half hour before they arrived. So, today was the big day. The driver, Jeff, did indeed call me a half hour before they were to arrive, and they showed up promptly at 11 a.m. Here is the nice thing: I got THREE guys, instead of the two promised--Jeff, Shawn, and Tim. All three were fit and in shape. In other words, they were suited for the job of moving heavy items. They covered my dining room table as requested, and I felt they were careful with my furniture. I watched them as they went out my front door with it, and they were conscientious to not hit the door frame. All three of the guys were great, as far as I am concerned. I thought it would take them the full hour. Moving large pieces can be challenging, especially when I'm demanding that they be careful. It didn't take them an hour. It only took them 15 minutes. I was thrilled to not have the process drag on forever. I signed the paperwork, tipped them, and they were off. I had forgotten to take my copy of the receipt, but one of the three put the receipt in my door. I scheduled for them to reposition the furniture once my hardwood floors were done; it was the same price. My advice: hammer out the details and your expectations in advance. When they arrive, communicate your objectives clearly with them. I found these men to be very accommodating. For example, we decided to go to the garage with the furniture instead of the kitchen because when moving the items back, they would not be able to drag furniture across the newly finished floors. After consulting with them, they agreed, and cheerfully put the items in the garage. Other advice I have: Be prepared for the movers. Have open paths cleared. Empty dressers. I've read some reviews and well, common sense apparently isn't so common anymore, because some of the issues I felt were almost brought on by the home owner. We were promised that our move would start at 8:00 a.m. We called when they did not arrive and were told the start time was 9:00, but they were having truck issues and would be late for that. They arrived at approximately 10:00 a.m. - TWO HOURS LATE. They informed us AT THAT TIME that they would not move our televisions unless we had the original boxes in which to pack them. Surprise. We provided them with our second destination, approximately 90th and Greenfield, and they called me from 10th and Greenfield wondering why they couldn't find the address. That's a consideration when these guys are on the clock. As we began the process of getting our furniture in place, we noticed s considerable amount of damage to our wooden pieces - scratches and GOUGES. Our complaints were useless. We were informed that the contract stated we had to inspect all of our furniture before the mover's left and make any and all complaints at that time. That's ridiculous. We were busy with many things, and weren't able to look at most pieces for at least two days. THE DAMAGE WAS SIGNIFICANT, AND IT WAS MADE CLEAR THEY WOULD NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY. NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY. If only I could give it 0 stars. This is a genuine concern for others out there in regards to this company. I used them last year for a move. They are unprofessional on both ends. On the phone as well as their employers. The movers put a HOLE in my ceiling. When I asked them what their protocol was, they kept repeating "uh I don't know". Until one of the gentlemen started getting very aggressive with me. They continued to touch my stuff, as I no longer consented and continued to move my belongings outside. The co worker then proceeded to call me a "bitch" and threatened to leave my furniture outside...which they DID! I called the company, very upset, and the so called "manager" defended his employees over me. While I EMAILED him REAL TIME PHOTOS of my furniture outside and the hole. OH IT GETS BETTER. They lied and told me they would reimburse me, but of course I had to front the money to repair the hole. I spent almost $400. When it was time to get reimbursed, ALL managers became available. Stated some "woman" would contact me - which "she" never did. And never sent the reimbursement check. Check out the BBB website and look at their complaints as well. I filed a complaint against them on BBB, but BBB is non profit, and can only take the complaint so far. DERRICK is not helpful, nor his other partner. I swear, these are the only 2 managing this company. Their employees are a pure reflection of how these two handle business. The company culture is insanely off, and have no respect. They also have a lack of equal responsibilities of positions. When you call them, there are about 3-4 different extensions. Such as "billing", "appointments", "customer service"...but guess what. It all leads TO ONE GUY AND THE SAME GUY. So you will never get the right attention (or respect!) a customer needs. For those who had a bad experience with them already, I feel for you. SpeedyMen was recommended to me by a friend. I used them to move my daughter to a new apartment. Based on the few large items she had to move, the customer service agent told me the movers would be able to move her in about 2 hours. The movers showed up, the truck they were driving wreaked of weed! The 2 movers were EXTREMELY slow & non communitave. It took them 3 hours just to load up a 1 bedroom apartment. It took a total of 5 hours to complete the move when I was told it should only take 2 hours. I was charged $150 per hour for an overage of 3 hours!! My bill came out to a total of $858.15 for a 1 bedroom apartment!!! I called to explain my frustration - I was told I would receive a call from management. Still no call 4 days after the move. I'm going to go ahead and echo the other reviewers here and STRONGLY CAUTION Y'ALL TO STAY AWAY. Seriously. Use anyone else. ANYONE. They were 4 hours late. For starters. Said the move would begin at 9:30 and we'd be done by noon. They showed up at 1:30 pm. Just let that sink in. They actually stopped answering my phone calls after the second time. See, I called when they were 15 minutes late. They gave me story about a truck in the shop, new truck, blah blah. Said they'd be there by 11am. This wasn't the case for me, but what if I were in a landlord situation where I had to be OUT by 11am? At 11:15am I called again. My temperature was rising. So, not to put to fine a point on it, they were late FOUR TIMES. They gave me an arrival time and missed it FOUR. DIFFERENT. TIMES. Lordhelpme why didn't I read the yelp reviews before I hired them. You get what you pay for. Second, they were careless with my things. Boxes marked fragile were tossed around and crushed. Boxes marked THIS END UP were put down updside down. Just like, I can't. THiRD, they took an hour long lunch break on their way from one house to another. WHAT?????? Just. WHAT. At the end of the nine hour day, I was irate beyond belief and asked the lead mover for the phone as he drew up the final bill. BEWARE!!! I would give them '0' stars if I could. had two members of their team come to help us move. The majority of the furniture they packed ended upi with damage and they were totally unresponsive or caring to our concerns about their movers and the damage. I raised concerns shortly after they began packing about one worker's condition, the lack of using plastic wrap (which you had promised would be used on everything) and improper packing technique /skill (many of the moving blankets were used on the floor of the POD). Jay, the 'owner' brushed me off /ignored my concerns and told me everything would be fine. He said you would call and talk to the workers and told me, "they were professionals having moved many homes without issues or damage". When we unpacked the POD to move into our new house, we found considerable damage due to improper packing, inadequate padding /protection and the absence of plastic wrap to numerous pieces of our furniture, especially our chairs. Some of the details follow: 1. Round Table - Master Bedroom --- outer band broken due to lack of padding /protection from ribbing inside the POD 2. Brown chair - Living Room --- wear mark through 'leather' due to absence of plastic wrap and lack of padding /protection 3. Brown Foot /Storage Stool - Family Room --- Damage to 'leather' due to absence of plastic wrap and lack of padding /protection 4. Leather chairs (6) - Dining Room --- Damage to leather and 'permanent' indents in cushions due to absence of plastic wrap and lack of padding /protection 5. Dresser - Master Bedroom --- Rub marks through paint, especially on front right top, due to lack of padding /protection 6. Table Top & Legs - Dining Room --- numerous scratches through finish due to absence of plastic wrap 7. White/Black Chair - Master Bedroom --- 'Permanent' indent due to lack of padding /protection 8. I rarely do reviews, but this place got me hot headed. When I ordered the movers for my kid that lives in Milwaukee I explained to them that they are on the 3rd floor and there is NO ELEVATOR. They said yes, no problem your quote is $495.00. I accepted the quote. Received a text that they would be there between 2-3PM, they did not show until after 5pm. Fine I get it everyone is moving. Then I get a phone call that they did not know it was the 3rd floor and NO ELEVATOR and I would have to "take the hit for $99.95 extra cost" I said "What does take the hit mean"? Who talks like that in customer service? He said, "well yeah you gotta take the hit" I proceeded to tell him once again I communicated on my part, the least you could do is communicate to your customer and to your drivers. DO NOT use them! They showed up late and exhausted from move earlier in the day which caused them to use 3 hours overtime. They damaged multiple items along with walls in home. Not professional at all toom breaks every load, about everything. When called to get a refund only offered an hour since they were 'slightly' tired according to the movers. Almost 2 weeks later still no refund. We have called the office multiple times to get a piece of a bed that is missing. It's on their truck for delivery and have been for almost 2 weeks. Now they said we can't even pick it up. So frustrated and will tell everyone I know not to use them ever! read more

I was on the receiving end of a delivery. I actually had forgotten they were coming when my decorator called to say they were 20 minutes away. They rescheduled without issue for 1.5 hours later. Ok 1st off we called I got a quote of a flat rate move for around 400ish I told them exactly what I had and that was the quote I got I was also told on the quote they "do not charge from the time they leave their depot to my home" that was the 1st LIE was def charged from the min they left their depot enroute to my home 2ed they arrived late we were told they wood be there at 9am they did not show up until almost 11 we are renters and we are on a schedule we needed to be out so the new tenants could move in!!! I had to call and see were they were I was told the time from was between 9 and 12 when I called to see were my movers were yet another LIE then the movers themselves actually call me and give me a story about "how they had to switch out a truck blah blah sorry for the delay" then my "professional movers" show up IN A U-HALL I kid you not a uhall I was floored but I gave them the benefit of the dout and well we had to goThis was when the real shit show started they come in introduce themselves I show them what they would be moving (witch was not even my entire apartment cause I had rented a smaller Uhall myself for my animals and my delectate items) so mind you they were not even moving all my things just my heavy furniture and some boxes..They go back out to their UHall and it takes them near 20 mins to move it from the front of my home to the side I kid you not..I was standing there watching this like OMG but again we were committed at this point..They finally get the truck on the side of the home and its another 20 mins before they even come up to get anything mind you he started the clock when they left depo then proceed to take between 15 to 25 mins to get each furniture item out the door and then another 15 or more mins to come back into the house to get the next one..The dolly they showed up with had a flat tire!!!! my bf was out there with a bike pump trying to renflate my "professional movers" dolly tire.. The one guy was good he was new to the company he was trying but the other one was horrific he was stopping every time they were out in the truck and getting on his cell phone he was walking back and forth on his flipping cell phone he actually walked into my house all slow cause he had his dam face in his dam cell phone texting it was a complete joke!!!! they stretched it out like this until the time frame for the original quote was over then Mr cell phone toddles into my livening room with his paper work and asked me "well what do you want to do now cause the time frame is over and they are now going to have to charge me 129 a hour" Now mind you they literally had maybe 6 pieces of furniture in their truck at this point I said well I want you to do the move you quoted for us for the rate you gave..hes like well we wont be able to im like ok then at least Finnish taking the furniture itself witch at that point consisted of my full size bed 2 lazy boys and a few small tv stands he then continued to tell me that would take them at least another hour to load that amount of items..the other guy almost stopped Mr. cell phone when he said that like what are you talking about kinda deal...you Could tell they were not agreeing on things as they were arguing over things.The one guy was pissed cause Mr. cell phone was lazy and he was!!! all he wanted to do was dick around to run the bill up higher im a disabled person and as it was I only had movers cause I had a very kind family member who helped us pay for them other wise we would have never had a luxury like that it was suppose to make the move easier on us!! well that was def not the end result!!! on top of all that they scratched the landlords lament wood floors from just lazily dragging across it nicked walls as they hit them on the way out with furniture but the best was yet to come he tells me "ok im going to stop on the way to the new place to go to the bathroom and get a drink but I will stop the clock until we leave the rest stop" again charging for back and forth time my new home was only a 10min drive from the old one mind you so to give you a idea of time here we had gotten to the new house and fully unloaded the small uhall and still had time to spare before they even showed back up they took almost a hour to "pee and get a drink" when they finally showed back up we had to actually move half the stuff in their truck for them into our new home or they were going to charge us even more they did not even get my fridge into the house they tried but Mr. cell phone "well what do you want us to do we are going to have to take the doors off it and that's going to cost you more"!! AVOID This company!! I spoke withJay and verbally listed EVERYTHING I had to be moved. I scheduled to move 7/3/18. I called 6/29 just to confirm and couldn't get any response. I emailed and left voicemail. Finally on 7/2/18 Jay called me back and said no problem. We are sending the big truck and will be there 9 A.M. around 9:30 I called him and he said you have that 1 BR house? I re-explained it's a 3 BR. He called me back and said we have to send a bigger truck and uncharged me $75. I had to move that day so I said just get here. Finally 2 guys showed up. It was a 3 hour allotment to finish. In 1 hour they had 3 (out of 6 rooms) rooms loaded. Since they were late getting there I had to go to the new house, 12 minutes away, to meet cable guys. 90 minutes after I left I called them to see how much longer. They said they were almost done. Over 90 minutes later they showed up. They moved slow and I even helped. I had scratches on 3 pieces of furniture, big ones and the cracked my freezer. They charged double than what they quoted and could care less if I was satisfied! Movers were very nice, but there should have been a 3rd, since I told Jay exactly everything I had to be moved. THE WORST!!!! The truck arrived an hour late with only one guy and he sat outside for an hour waiting for his co worker to arrive. The appointment started two hours late. I had to give them tools to take apart and put beds back together. There was no option for a reduced rate even though I was told it was an hourly rate not a flat rate and The move was so simple it only took 1.5 hours. This company is absolutely terrible!!! The men had no idea how to move big pieces of furniture, I don't think they had any training. We watched in horror as they dragged our home office furniture up the steps, scratching and denting all the sides and corners of a desk. We yelled "STOP"! No dolly! Apparently they forgot it? So we put in a claim because they destroyed a 3-thousand dollar set of office furniture. We have, no exaggeration, called and emailed dozes of times, it takes weeks for a response after calling over and over again. We are now 5 months post move and STILL waiting for the payout, which is only going to be $210!!! I wish we would have read reviews and looked further into this. We moved again a couple months later and it was such a better experience, way more professional. They were supposed to be here by noon to move and at 12:30 I called them to see where they were and they told me that they had a timeframe between 12 o'clock and 3 o'clock but quite possibly it would be closer to 5 o'clock. There was no communication and they also stopped answering the calls. It is now 730 and they still are not at the house to start the move. I regret not reading reviews on Speedymen before hiring them for my December 2018 move. This is a fraudulent company. I prepaid for a 26 foot truck with a lift - the lift being the entire reason I went with this company in the first place so I could transport my zero-turn lawn tractor. On the day of the move, my contract stated they would arrive between 10 am and 11:30 am. They showed up at 1:00 pm - no phone call no nothing. Worst of all, the truck they had when they finally showed up was only a 16 foot truck and there was NO Lift! It wasn't even a moving truck. There wasn't a ramp of any kind or means to strap down items which renders it completely ill equipped to move any kind of heavier furniture items. Additionally, there was no logo or name on the truck at all - total red flag! This was definitely Not what I PREPAID for! Jay Smith, the lying voice on the phone kept promising there was another truck on the way. Meanwhile the personal moving my belongings were so untrained/careless that a number of my items were either destroyed or damaged, including an irreplaceable ceramic statue from Mexico given to me by my (now) deceased mother. When I saw it on the ground smashed to a million pieces I was so upset, I still can't put it to words. What kind of moving business doesn't wrap breakable items in a moving blanket??? My queen and twin mattresses were absolutely filthy after they dragged them on the ground, and the queen size one was ripped in 2 places. Not only would all of my stuff not fit in the smaller truck, there was no way to even get the heavier pieces into the truck. Suffice it to say, no other truck ever showed up and all my stuff never got moved, not by Speedymen anyway. I was left in a panic by this crappy company and had to scramble to find another mover at the last minute to finish the job, therefore costing me twice as much to move as what it should have. All because Speedymen is a fraudulent and unprofessional company. I hope by getting this review out there I can prevent Speedymen from victimizing anyone else. Appointment made from 9am-12p for today called number times to confirm my time and date and was emailed just yesterday with accurate time and date. Call at 945a for eta they tell me my time frame was switched with no notification whatsoever to 12p-3p "Jay" says I will get a call back he has to look into this. I wait another 45min. And call back several times only to get a voicemail that says no one is in?!? Then I finally get a callback from jay who states "the system made and error and switched your time frame" how when I confirmed it over 3x and have emails to confirm. I ask for compensation because now I'm 3 hours behind or more because the 12-3p is an estimated arrival time between then so I really don't know what's going on. Jay said he has to "look into getting me a discount and all you can say is sorry" not good enough horrible business practice no sense of urgency or effort to take care of the customer.
