Spenared Farmers market was the headquarters for The first annual Spenard Mime day . It was a wonderful event . It was very well organized . It was so much fun and accomplished so much . It really brought the community together in a lighthearted fun way . They gave away a lot of nice things including a beautiful Mime shirt , flowers , sketchbooks , bags , plus they put face makeup on whoever wanted to be a Mime for a day .we might have set a new world record for the most mimes gathered together . Thanks Spenard Market for letting Spenard Mime share your space . Don't miss the event next year !

Local, local, local. Local grown foods, prepared foods, art. Local musicians. Community volunteer run, not corporate run. Spenard Farmers Market is as local as you can get with a Farmers Market. Visitors to Alaska are welcome to shop.

I love the cabbage roll soup she serves, and you won't get away without her pressing a topping of sour cream in your hand to go with the dish.

Huge fan of this place. It's one of the busier Saturday markets. Fresh local veggies? Check. Fresh…read morecaught seafood? Check. Man standing in the middle with a guitar singing Dead covers? Check. Locally grown obscure mushrooms? Check. I love this place and the fact it's less than 10 minutes from my house. I try to come here for all my veggie needs. It's a little more expensive, but you pay for quality. Food doesn't have to ripen on the way to Alaska, so you can actually taste the sweetness and fullness of every vegetable sold here. Open from 9AM-2PM. Get here early. Parking is limited.

Then our cucumber lady who also sells lions mane mushrooms. Didn't have the mushrooms today, but we still have some from last week. Then Arctic Choice the seafood monger! Today 1.5 lbs of side stripe shrimp I'll make a Ceviche from. What Lingcod Yes - darn they ran out NOooo! Okay they had white king salmon my wife's favorite but I opted for Simpson Bay AK Oysters! I grill these in my special new cast iron oyster skillets! 2 dozen Oysters are a weekly staple during the summer when the markets in full swing. We then went and grabbed some super huge radishes from another vendor. Oh yeah a bread that's super high quality that Leila can eat Calugine from Zoi Food for life it's special for wheat sensitive people and vegans. Then to Beach Tribe Sodaworks for a 4-Pack of Jamaican Kombucha - Perfect with Gin - A Kombucha Gin & Tonic - Hello. All vendors take cash, some take credit cards so bring some of both. There's always something good there!

My friend said no to two of the three. Little do you know you have no choice since I cook.

Full Circle was delivering beautifully fresh produce to my front door even before the Covid-19…read morelockdown. It was a great help to have while my disabled husband was needing more and more attention. Now, 3 years later and their produce is still THE BEST. Better even than my favorite grocery store. Customer service is always stellar, there never seems to be a mistake in my box or my credit card. You can choose the size of box, what goes into your box, and even choose how frequently the box is delivered. What could be better? (check out their Facebook page too) Give Full Circle a try, you won't be sorry you did. -Bev S in Salem Oregon-

I have been getting Full Circle deliveries for a couple months and I love that most of the produce…read morelasts a week or more, which greatly exceeds any produce available in the grocery stores near me. And the convenience of fresh produce coming to your door every week can't be beat, I've even added local milk deliveries (though I wish I could automatically have it come each week without having to add it each time). I get the harvest box which is perfect for my family of four. My amazing 7 year old daughter decided to become a vegetarian June 2012, since she has gone meatless the rest of the family only eats meat a couple times a week (I could probably give it up but my husband never could) so we go through a lot of produce. I also enjoy that the produce is so varied. There are so many things I've never tried and I love receiving items I wouldn't regularly buy because then I get to try new things. For example, I never buy any squash besides pumpkin and I've bee having fun preparing a variety of squash recipes. Also, I had never heard of Rainbow Chard before getting these deliveries and it is the most beautiful green and I love making Rainbow Chard Alfredo, sooooo good! My experience with Full circle deliveries has been awesome! Though I do think they could replace the box with reusable totes. I get milk in a cool pack I have to return each week, I wouldn't mind doing the same with totes.
