What a great place to go for a date night or business meeting. Rather eclectic clients as well as staff, all of which are super friendly and adds to the charm of this great place! Server was phenomenal in making sure we were all taken cared of. Appetizers were EXCELLENT!! Drinks were EXCELLENT, which made me extremely excited for the Cubano I'd ordered. All that build up, for an alright sandwich. I should preface that I have had a few other cubanos in previous cities. This one in particular was lacking on the "inside" ingredients. There was very little meat and cheese. It was a lot of bread so the meal was basically like eating... bread. For the sticker price of the sandwich, I definitely figured it would have come jammed packed with a lot of meat, and the full taste of the BBQ to shine through. This hasn't deterred me though, I will be back to try some other portions of their fine menu!

Service was prompt and cheerful and the Tacos were very flavorful and filling. Their was light music playing in the background that added to the experience.

Bacon of the month - burnt ends with raspberry habanero bbq and Mac salad

Spenard made our list of things to try in Anchorage, and I'm so glad it did! My friend and I ordered drinks after a long day trip to Matanuska, and the pineapple piñata I got was delicious (and strong!). We got the bacon of the month to start, which was bacon burnt ends with a raspberry habanero bbq sauce with some bacon Mac salad.. it was delicious! The burnt ends were cooked perfectly and paired well with the tanginess of the mac salad. I got the grilled halibut with the lemon caper sauce and mushroom spinach orzo.. super yum! It's a lot of food so I couldn't finish it, but I wish I could because the fish was cooked so well and it was so flavorful. They were busy on a Friday evening, but there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We sat in the bar area, so service was a little slower, but still pretty attentive. The table next to us ordered a banana cream dessert that looked so good.. too bad we couldn't eat anymore or we would've tried that!

Spenard Roadhouse has exceptionally service from the front of the house to my server. This cozy relaxed diner is frequented by many locals and serves up delicious sandwiches. During my lunch visit I got the cubano with tots. The braised pork was juicy. This was a great balance of smoky, zesty, and saltness served in a warm bun. Service was 5 stars and with smiles.

What a cool place! Has a 1960s retro feel to it. The menu is not expansive, but it looks good. My meal was fantastic! (Minus the biscuit! Word to my southern peeps, don't eat that biscuit). We had local beers with dinner and enjoyed our meal. The service was good too.

The elote dip was horrible, looks and tastes like cold vomit. Everything else was absolutely wonderful. Servers were all nice and the food was great. Vibes are very Alaskan.

Here are the highlights: Fair service even with a wait Good food, little more reasonable than some other nearby places Cute place (under 21 years old not allowed without an adult) Needs more parking space

I can't believe people aren't giving this place 5 stars! I eat here every summer when I come up to visit friends. Ate here twice this visit. Their cocktails are awesome! Today we had breakfast and I decided to order the sticky bun. Holy cow! Undoubtedly the best sticky bun I've ever had. Yes this place is a tad pricey, but not compared to other not as nice restaurants in the area. I cannot wait to come back!

Spenard Roadhouse made for a tasty dinner with easy parking. The interior was nicely decorated with a full bar and tables away from the bar area. We were seated right away on May 29, 2026 at 5:30 PM with no reservations. I had the Bacon Jam burger with a side of super tots. While both tasted good, I do not believe that meal was worth $28. Maybe it was worth $18 on a good day. My wife had the Soup du Jour, but neither of us remember what it was, other than it contained seafood. She also got the small plate of Seared Scallops. As you can see in the picture, the scallops are very small, maybe the diameter of a quarter coin. I also tried the Lil' Pineapple drink from the Zero Proof menu. I asked that they replace the sparkling soda with plain water, and they did. The drink was delicious. The servers were very friendly, answered all our questions, and we enjoyed the service they provided. Would I return to Spenard Roadhouse on my next trip to Anchorage? Probably not. There are many other restaurants to try and nothing about this one made me say "wow!". The food was good, and if you like what you see on the menu, give it a try. But, as for me, I'd like to try other restaurants first.

I think the service has become more consistently good again, which is nice to see. I like that you pay on their tablet that the servers carry around so they don't take your card away. This spread pictured below coast me $50, the sliders were shareable and we all ordered them, I thought they were 3, but they had 4 and were $17. Everything was delicious though. The sliders got soggy with all the juice.

Stopped in for brunch and stumbled upon this gem. I really enjoyed the outdoor seating--great atmosphere to relax and enjoy a meal. The coffee was excellent, and the pineapple frizz drink was well-balanced and refreshing. We started with the buffalo fried bacon, which was a fun twist, though the sauce was a bit overpowering. For the main, I had the reindeer sausage scramble--it was flavorful and well-seasoned. Overall, a great spot to grab a satisfying bite after a long morning. I'd definitely come back!

The room has a high-energy, lively vibe without ever feeling overwhelmingly loud, and you can tell why the chef earned a James Beard nomination. You definitely need a reservation; they have a few walk-in spots, but they go very fast, so you will want to get there right when doors open if you do not have one booked. The beverage menu is very well done, with great cocktails and thoughtful mocktails that felt just as crafted. For food, our starters set a high bar; the pork buns, pickles, and octopus were all flavorful and well prepared. The ramen itself was delicious and hits the spot in the Alaska weather, with deep, tasty broths and bold flavors throughout. The Dark Horse was especially good. We did not have room left for dessert, but the savory side of the menu more than delivered.

Wow Anchorage, what a great spot you have in Whisky and Ramen. My husband and I went on a Saturday…read more They state on their website they do seat equal parts walk ins and reservations so we gave it a go even though we didn't have reservations. We came a little after opening at 5:15 and were seated at a table immediately. Larger groups may have trouble without a reservation. Everything was phenomenal. My husband had a couple cocktails and I had a couple NA cocktails. I was really impressed with the NA cocktails -- they were complex in flavor and not overly sweet. Husband was also impressed with his drinks. For appetizers we got the pickles, pork buns and takoyaki. In my opinion the pork buns are the way to go. I also enjoyed the pickles and there were a good garnish with other dishes. For ramens we got the dark horse and Tokyo rich tsukemen. Wow wow wow, they were simply excellent. The broths had so much flavor. The tsukemen was a fun dish with having to assemble it yourself and dip food into the broth. Pork belly serving was very generous. Some of the best ramen I have ever had. If you are in anchorage you need to eat here!
