The atmosphere was awesome and the decor was great. I had the blueberry ale and it was really good. The food was okay but lacking a little bit in flavor. But it did come out super quickly.

They definitely nailed the rustic Alaskan lodge theme with the decor. Plenty of animal heads and skins adorn the walls. The service is fast and friendly. Our meals were standard and the drinks were good. It's a good spot to grab some decent pub fare.

We've eaten here enough times that I understand why their star reviews range from 1 to 5. They really are all over the map. Because it's literally around the corner from where I work and it's been a rough week and their drinks are ALWAYS amazing, we decided to take our chances. I'm so glad we did. It was a 5 star experience this time. The ambiance is the Alaskan vibe locals and tourists love. All the animals and Alaskan stuff that is warm and inviting. The restaurant was packed and we were seated and waited on right away. Our waitress, Cher, was the highlight. She's one of those people I will make a point of asking for in the future because she was so awesome. I got the Paloma and the bartender used a heavy hand. Wowser. It was next level. Our maple Brussel sprout app was AMAZING. My husband couldn't finish his humongous Carnivore burger. Nor could I finish my perfect chicken and Waffles. The hand dipped chicken was fried to perfection. We'll be and be sure to ask for Cher who works at the end of the week.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, over 31 tap beers to try. I had the Alaskan salmon with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. Not bad an all!

We are staying at the Hilton across the parking lot and coworkers had recommend to check this spot. We were starving and came over after checking into the hotel. We came in through the pickup door without realizing it. The staff in general were super friendly and welcoming. Our waitress was very patient and gave us suggestions with the menu. The reindeer sausage jalapeño poppers were AMAZING! All of the food was great! I liked the ribs better with the rub since the bbq sauce was ok. It had like a mustard flavour to it. The pizza was very tasty and the salmon had good flavour. The only thing about the salmon is that it was a bit too cooked for me. I typically like it a bit medium rare in the middle and not well done. The ambiance is unique with a cabin outdoors feel to it. They have plenty of beers on tap. We will probably be back before we leave.

We really enjoyed the ambiance of this restaurant. The service was very friendly. I enjoyed my salmon dinner. My mom needed to eat something bland and the kitchen was able to make substitutions to the dish so she could enjoy it. My brother enjoyed his burger.

I travel to Anchorage from Denver pretty often, and Bear Paw is one of my absolute go-to spots. I've tried a bunch of things on the menu (the meatloaf is killer!), but I especially love that I can count on them for something lighter when I need it. I honestly order the grilled chicken breast almost every night I'm in town -- it's simple, healthy, and always hits the spot. I usually mix up the sides, but it's just so nice knowing I can get a solid meal with veggies and a salad, especially after a not-so-healthy lunch out. The staff is also always warm and welcoming. So glad this place is close to my hotel!

'Ello chaps, Bear Paw Bar & Grill is a quaint Americana restaurant in Anchorage, Alaska. The menu boasts the typical fare of burgers, wings, food & chips, and the like. It was a long wait to get seated; not because of any crowd, but because there wasn't a host around. Once we did get seated, things were great. The server was very friendly and chatty, gave great insight for tourists. We ordered up the fried pickles (delicious) and some burgers. Cooked perfectly, well seasoned, just all in and all well done. Overall I'm giving Bear Paw Bar & Grill the rare 5 Stars out of 5.

This was our first stop after landing late in Anchorage. It was late, they were crowded. The interior felt like a corporate Alaskan lodge sports bar. I bet you can picture it in your head. Our service was amazing. The had good bourbon and craft ice. The chowder was decent and the fish and chips were on point. Thanks.

Very good selection of beers. Food is fresh and big portions. I thoroughly enjoyed the efficient ships and their old-fashioned is very good as well.

Anyway, second time is the charm I guess. So the Halibut sandwich was good, flavor was good, the fish was tender and flaky, my server made a mistake and substituted the "American" cheese for Swiss but I loved it! LOL! Seriously made the sandwich taste better. I didn't eat the bun because to be brutally honest as I always am, the bun was of cheap, stale and poor quality, it was barely toasted and not buttered? Fail! The bun on my cheese burger was the same way. The burger itself was cooked perfectly medium well but it was a premade obviously Sysco quality burger which was poorly seasoned which was made more evident by the stale, cheap, poor quality bun. They did have Coke Zero which made me feel a little better. Also at the end of my meal I ended up having to get up from my table and go pay for my food since my server hadn't returned in 15 minutes after clearing my dirty dishes. I don't feel like I will return to this place as there are much better options in the area. The ambiance always feels like I'm in an IHOP at 3am for some reason..

Is a masterpiece disguised as a cheese burger the tater tots on the side? Meh! Nothing to see there. Unforgivable! I wanted to love this pizza so badly but I cannot allow anyone else to spend $28.00 on a dried out, over cooked order of cheese bread. Seating is made up of booths along the window perimeter, tables thru the middle area and a large bar area with more tables and stools along the counter. The menu selection is surprisingly diverse. I was happy to see halibut as the fish for their fish & chips, as it is often cod or other white fish. I find halibut to be the best. They also have a few dishes with nods to Korean and Thai flavors. There are pizzas and dinner salads too. I went with their bacon jam burger for dinner. It is cooked to your liking and has a grilled apple, cambozola, bacon jam, arugula & house mayo. This is the best burger I've had in a long time. The flavors complement each other so well. If you are a fan of bleu cheese you will really love the cambozola. It is creamy and oozy and is amazing on a burger. My spouse tried their Cuban sandwich and didn't like that the pickles were mediocre and didn't add to the overall flavors, and that the bread wasn't crisped or toasted in any way -- the way Cubans traditionally are. He also took a chance with a appetizer off the specials menu which he imaged was Brussels sprouts however it was shaved sautéed Brussels sprout leaves, over warm couscous with lots of fresh herbs, jalapeños, and heavily spiced with bold spices like fennel. It was bizarre and not like anything we've ever tried. We liked some of the flavors but all together didn't make sense to us so we sent it back, unfortunately. Our child tried the Mac and cheese that came with purple grapes and sorbet. The Mac and cheese was good although I'd advise SRH to try a larger noodle than a small shell so kids can stab it better and get it in their little mouths. The sorbet must be seasonal/rotating bc it was cinnamon honey pear and it was crazy delicious. I'd come back for just the sorbet tbh. Other than that our red-haired bespectacled server was fairly attentive and quite friendly, even on a very busy Friday dinner rush. Parking lot just outside seems easy enough as long as you can grab a spot at busy times. Will be back in the future for the fried halibut (and sorbet!).
