An amazing cafe with great food and service! We enjoyed it so much we went there both days we were in Anchorage Alaska

The Kenai quinoa dish was my favorite thing I ate when I was in Alaska and the Yukon for two weeks. Besides the fresh veggies, it comes with a large piece of salmon and a hunk of halloumi cheese on top. I liked it so much the first time that I went back to Snow City right before I left Anchorage to go home. Yum! Check online and get on the waitlist before you go. Being that our flight into Anchorage took a little longer than expected, we arrived at Snow City Cafe later than we thought. I thought that it would be incredibly busy and we'd have to wait a while to get a seat. Thankfully they were able to seat us right away and welcomed us in with a smile. The person seating us was incredibly friendly and welcoming and it was a nice feeling to have after a slightly stressful travel getting here. Our server was also super friendly and was so on it when it came to customer service. Always coming back to check on us and making sure everything was to our liking. I decided to choose the Tundra Scramble with the Sourdough toast and it was absolutely delicious. I paired it with a Mocha with soy milk and it truly did hit the spot. If you haven't tried their coffees and teas, you are also missing out. They have incredible coffee and desserts that rival even their most delicious menu items. My fiance had the Polar Bear Breakfast that featured their French Toast. I almost felt a little jealous because it also looked amazing but my love for reindeer sausage brought me back to my own plate. The cafe's seating is open and not too close together so you never feel like you're stuffed in with other customers. Signage on the walls and windows make you feel like you're in a comfortable community space and just a welcomed part of their family. They even have a hot sauce rack where I learned they will give you a gift card if you bring in your favorite sealed hot sauce to donate to the rack. I will most certainly be bringing one in next time I come into town. As we've been here a few times now, the delicious food, friendly staff, and comfortable space keeps us coming back and will most certainly be part of our routine whenever we have time to hang out in Anchorage. We tried their vegetable Benedict and French toast. The food was spot on and coffee was good. One of the best Benedict I've had. It had a lot of garlic cloves, about 4-5 per egg so be aware of garlic breath you're going to get. They have a good number of tables but tend to get busy, I recommend reserving online. Ambience is good. The service provided wasn't great despite the place being only 50% full. Our server never refilled our coffee or brought the syrup for the pancakes, she simple showed up to take the order and then to collect the cheque. read more

This is the cutest place in downtown Anchorage. The vibe is chill and the locals are welcoming. The service was stellar. The coffee was fresh and robust but not over the top. I tried the reindeer sausage and loved it. We all enjoyed our breakfast and should have gone back for another meal we loved it so much. Parking is metered so be prepared and you have to download an app. But it's fairly easy and worth the time and wait. Yelp recommended this place and reviews delivered. You can just swing in for coffee if don't want to stay for meal. Very attentive and super kind. Ordered the country sausage Benny and an omelette with peppers that was delicious. Got a side of fruit that was very fresh. The sausage gravy and homemade biscuit in the Benny was delicious and highly recommend!! Coffee was delicious. Even grabbed a bag to go. Get the sourdough as your toast. Seriously, nothing bad here at all. Awesome ambiance and just a chill place. Check out their pastry case and take note of the massive cinnamon rolls. Pretty busy crowd for breakfast so I recommend getting there early to grab a table. I was solo so was able to grab a seat immediately at the counter. I do love a good diner counter. The service was friendly and prompt. I ordered a black coffee and the Kodiak Benedict. It was pretty underwhelming. Not bad really, but with how much this restaurant was hyped up, I really expected a better breakfast. Hash brown was pretty soggy. Was here today for my 4th time ever and yet again, never disappointed!! The food is always so delicious, the coffee is always really good too. My server Tanner was above and beyond!! Checked in to see how I was doing, how the food was, and what ever I might need... was checking in every few minutes. Coffee never got below 1/2, water never got below 3/4... super attentive and sooooo polite. It was truly amazing considering how busy it was (and always is). There is ALWAYS a wait of an hour or so. We were super excited to have brunch here, and this place did not disappoint! I'll start by saying that if you're visiting on the weekend, you'll probably have a wait, so I highly recommend making a reservation through Yelp before you arrive. We started with the Mimosa Royal. We'd never tried one before, but it was made with Opera Prima Brut, pomegranate juice, and fresh raspberries. Wow! The berries were incredibly fresh, and I had forgotten just how much I love pomegranate juice. We split a cinnamon roll, and in 37 years on this planet, it was the best one I've ever had. Phenomenal! Soft, delicious, and absolute perfection. For my meal, I ordered the classic breakfast with eggs, bacon, hash browns, and an English muffin. Everything was cooked perfectly! Our server was amazing as well, very attentive and friendly. We also appreciated that the seating wasn't overly cramped. This place came highly recommended and hyped up but if I'm being completely honest, I feel that it is overrated. The wait times are crazy long and then we had to wait a really long time for our food. It was executed perfectly and delicious! Their bacon here is also really good! FAVORITE SWEET OPTIONS: Don't order pancakes here! They are thick and heavy. However they make the BEST "stuffed French toast" I have ever tried. The combination of the bread they use and fruit just really works. Cinnamon rolls are good (not world famous as they claim, but good). They come with WAY TOO MUCH frosting though so ask for the on the side. COFFEE: Love that they have an espresso machine! They make a decent latte but ask for them to make it hotter than normal. Otherwise it comes out lukewarm. SERVICE: This place is popular and BUSY (especially in the summer). Not worth the wait. I am from California so I should have know better than to order a chorizo breakfast burrito in Alaska. I am not sure if there was any meat in it, and the tortilla was soggy. It tasted like one of those egg, cheese, and sausage frozen burritos where you have to search for the tiny nibbles of beef. The red and green sauce didn't save it, weird flavors that were not good. My husband's BLT was ok, the bacon and potatoes soup had two specks of bacon in it. Still, it would have been ok except for the long wait, and the fact that I was sick and nauseous all afternoon. I only ate half of the burrito and a little bit of the soup so now sure what caused it, but I noted other Yelpers had the same issue. Service was excellent though so for that will give it three stars. Next time I would visit the El Greengo food truck across the street instead. read more

The crabcakes, so surface very well. Its front and center. One of the best bennies i ever had 9/10 Hashbrowns - As perfect as a hashbrown can be. Texture, crunch and flavor is how you would expect from a strong hash. Extremely superb 9.9/10 Reindeer Sausage - Perfectly cooked. Spices used are pleasant and the reindeer flavor is divine. Where do I start? The menu is very unique with plenty of food option varieties. You can order Eggs Benedict several different ways. I ordered the red crab Benedict with a blend of normal Benedict called 1/2 and 1/2. You can also select one with all the cravings your stomach desires. We were fortunate to have a special waitress with superb customer service experience and plenty of recommendations. One must is to make a reservation (Yelp) on line before you show up to the restaurant. I signed up 15 minutes before arrival on foot and there were 21 more reservations behind mine. I was 6 in line for a table and the team turns over the tables down to a science. This Cafe has seating options at the counter, booths and tables. We only had to wait 10 minutes upon arrival before seated. There is a kiosk option once you arrive to sign in or with the hostess stand. There are one a kind art and sports memorabilia. While visiting town we decided to come grab breakfast here. They do not have parking but it was early enough we found street parking across the street. The inside is super cute with bright colors. It was early enough we didn't have a wait. The staff is friendly and attentive. Our waitress helped us out answering some questions about the menu. We went on a cruise that started in Anchorage, AK. We went in a extra day early to enjoy Anchorage. I HATE hotel breakfast but love breakfast. I looked up where the best breakfast was in Anchorage. My partner and I came on Saturday morning before our flight back home to California. This was on our list of must eats and of course we saved it for our last meal here in Anchorage. I ordered the Kodiak Benedict and I thought it was very good. One of the eggs was not poached and almost a soft boiled egg (jammy), it was kind of disappointing but I didn't make a fuss of it. My other egg was poached beautifully, I don't know what happened to my other egg, but accidents happen. Taste wise, I thought the hollandaise was pretty good, and the crab cakes were not salty which is nice. Holy MOLY I thought they were the best hash browns I've ever had in my life. It's perfectly crunchy and crispy on the outside but soft and tender on the inside. WOW! My partner had the Cluck Norris and he thought it was nicely prepared. The eggs were cooked to his liking (doesn't like it runny). He said it was a simple yet well made breakfast. A classic Americana breakfast that hit the spot.
