Pretty busy crowd for breakfast so I recommend getting there early to grab a table. I was solo so was able to grab a seat immediately at the counter. I do love a good diner counter. Was here today for my 4th time ever and yet again, never disappointed!! The food is always so delicious, the coffee is always really good too. My server Tanner was above and beyond!! Checked in to see how I was doing, how the food was, and what ever I might need... was checking in every few minutes. I'll start by saying that if you're visiting on the weekend, you'll probably have a wait, so I highly recommend making a reservation through Yelp before you arrive. We started with the Mimosa Royal. We'd never tried one before, but it was made with Opera Prima Brut, pomegranate juice, and fresh raspberries. Wow! Where do I start? The menu is very unique with plenty of food option varieties. You can order Eggs Benedict several different ways. I ordered the red crab Benedict with a blend of normal Benedict called 1/2 and 1/2. You can also select one with all the cravings your stomach desires. The food was amble in proportion with a difficult time to finish. The hash browns are made fresh (large portion). There are pancake options and the size of the pancakes are massive. We were fortunate to have a special waitress with superb customer service experience and plenty of recommendations. One must is to make a reservation (Yelp) on line before you show up to the restaurant. I signed up 15 minutes before arrival on foot and there were 21 more reservations behind mine. I was 6 in line for a table and the team turns over the tables down to a science. Not worth the wait. I am from California so I should have know better than to order a chorizo breakfast burrito in Alaska. I am not sure if there was any meat in it, and the tortilla was soggy. It tasted like one of those egg, cheese, and sausage frozen burritos where you have to search for the tiny nibbles of beef. The red and green sauce didn't save it, weird flavors that were not good. My husband's BLT was ok, the bacon and potatoes soup had two specks of bacon in it. Still, it would have been ok except for the long wait, and the fact that I was sick and nauseous all afternoon. I only ate half of the burrito and a little bit of the soup so now sure what caused it, but I noted other Yelpers had the same issue. The crabcakes, so surface very well. Its front and center. One of the best bennies i ever had 9/10 Hashbrowns - As perfect as a hashbrown can be. Texture, crunch and flavor is how you would expect from a strong hash. Extremely superb 9.9/10 Reindeer Sausage - Perfectly cooked. Spices used are pleasant and the reindeer flavor is divine. Everyone I spoke with said I had to try Snow City Cafe. So, we did. We parked across the street in a parking lot that uses a cell phone app to enter your license plate and pay your parking fee. After walking across the street, we entered the restaurant at about 10:30 AM. There was a waitlist and we were told we would have a 45 minute wait. We were also told we could sit at the counter and that was on a first come-first serve basis. We put our name on the list and were called about 45 minutes later. HINT: before getting to the restaurant, you can put your name on the waitlist using an app on your phone. This could significantly shorten your wait time upon arrival. You can see in the pictures what we ate. The Mushroom & Carmelized Onion omelet that my wife had and the Breakfast Burrito in a bowl that I had were both very delicious and very filling. The OMG bacon (see my image) was ridiculously good! We had to finish off our breakfast with their "world famous" cinnamon roll and it was too good for words. The servers were very friendly and efficient and answered all our questions. My partner and I came on Saturday morning before our flight back home to California. This was on our list of must eats and of course we saved it for our last meal here in Anchorage. I ordered the Kodiak Benedict and I thought it was very good. One of the eggs was not poached and almost a soft boiled egg (jammy), it was kind of disappointing but I didn't make a fuss of it. My other egg was poached beautifully, I don't know what happened to my other egg, but accidents happen. Taste wise, I thought the hollandaise was pretty good, and the crab cakes were not salty which is nice. Holy MOLY I thought they were the best hash browns I've ever had in my life. It's perfectly crunchy and crispy on the outside but soft and tender on the inside. WOW! My partner had the Cluck Norris and he thought it was nicely prepared. The eggs were cooked to his liking (doesn't like it runny). He said it was a simple yet well made breakfast. A classic Americana breakfast that hit the spot. A very busy cafe in downtown Anchorage that lives up to the hype of delicious food. We joined a wait list on a Sunday morning (smart move!) with a 1 hour and 45 minute wait. There is on-street paid parking nearby. The restaurant is colorful and bright and the menu is varied with both breakfast and lunch options. My husband chose the blueberry stuffed French toast which came with whipped cream and a side of syrup, which was not needed along with crispy bacon and OJ. It was an amazing dish and he loved every bite. I had the Kodiak eggs Benedict and it was true perfection. The eggs were light, fluffy and big, the crab cake had a bit of spice to it but you could taste crab in every bite and the hollandaise sauce was thick and plentiful. They came with a side of hash browns that could have been crispier but honestly, I didn't eat many of them as the eggs were so filling. The coffee was hot and flavorful. I used the restroom, of which there were two unisex bathrooms. Not particularly clean and not enough for a full restaurant- we were the table closest to them and people stood in line at our table throughout the meal. On previous visits I've had the stuffed French toast and the Cluck Norris omelette, but this time I tried the Brisket Benedict with corn bread and demi glace and caramelized onions... it was incredible.
