The people were great but they just didn't actually clean anything really. My shirts were still dirty when I got them back. I caught one shirt before I left and got them to reclean but my tuxedo shirt still had a mark on the back when I pulled it out. It's a full white shirt so I'm not sure how someone might think the shirt is clean especially for the price you pay. read more

I've been a loyal customer of Sterling dry cleaners for months, but unfortunately, their service has been consistently disappointing. Every time I drop off a batch of sheets, they come back with new stains and covered in lint. To make matters worse, they even shrink my clothes - my sweatpants are now unwearable! Despite giving them multiple chances, the errors persist. As a high-volume customer, I expect better quality and attention to detail. In my back pocket neighborhood walkable resources are: grocery stores, a new pharmacy, the bank(s) AND Sterling Cleaners because they're environmentally sound and can do stuff, repair stuff I'd surely mess up. Most recent drop off was the regular-learned-the-hard-way-not-to-wash clothing items and hubby's fave à la Mr. Rodger's cardigan. Stretched out button holes, it had become incapable of keeping him snug, cozy. $8 per to tighten them = snug, cozy. I truly would have messed up this repair. ALL items cleaned with care, packaged appropriately ready to be worn this coming fall/winter. Short term drop-off/pick-up parking at entrance off of Westwood Boulevard and Holman Avenue. We usually walk to Sterling Cleaners for drop-off but pick-up via our car(s). Made the mistake at pick-up by parking in an employee only zone. Fortunately, thanks to efficient staff, I was only in an employee's space for mere minutes. Whew! Check-in on Yelp but there's no longer a discount along with it. When I mentioned this we were given a 25% off neighborhood courtesy. Sterling Cleaners now prefers a Google review but I'm gonna stick with Yelp. read more

I came to Sterling Cleaners once, and it will definitely be the last. Talk about someone taking you to the cleaners. Well, Sterling is for sure the right example of this. They are extremely over priced. My biggest regret is why I didn't ask about any of their pricing before going there. Instead, I chanced it, and got a nice big kick in the family jewels after using their services. Prices here are two to three times more than what the fair market prices go for. It's not as though they have re-invented the wheel for dry-cleaning services. It's only a plain dry cleaners with super heavy, astronomical prices! BEWARE WITH VINTAGE OR WELL LOVED ITEMS! ZERO COMMUNICATION! I took my late mother's high school blazer here. I was worried that it was too old and delicate to be cleaned - so they said they would HAND clean it and be very careful. My return slip said to come back a few days later, but it was not ready. I was told to come in the next day... it was not ready. I waited a few days and called, I was told it was not ready and the Manager would call me with an ETA. The manager did not call. I waited another week and called again, only to be told there were some issues, but rest assured I would be contacted when it was ready. A month after its original pick-up date, I went down there because I was worried no one would call me. They gave me what was pictured below. Completely and utterly ruined. They DID NOT hand wash this. They put it in the machine. The fabric feels hard and fried. I knew there was a risk they could damage the garment when I dropped it off, but never did I think it would be like this. What disappoints me the most is not the jacket being ruined, but the LACK of professionalism. Sterlings never contacted me to inform me of what happened. I called numerous times to understand what went wrong, and it's like they almost wanted me to forget I brought something to them. If they owned up to ruining it, called me as soon as it happened, and provided a sincere apology - I would not be leaving a poor review. read more

If you think that lovely "floral" scent on your dry cleaned clothes is something they've added to make it smell nice, well, no. More likely, they threw your stuff in with someone else's clothing that was reeking of whatever perfume they wear, and the smell transferred to your items, because the fluid wasn't changed often enough. We had switched to another dry cleaner because of this recurring issue at Sterling, driving twice as far to drop things off, but it was a huge relief. Sadly, my guy recently *forgot* that we'd switched dry cleaners and brought a big batch of clothes to Sterling again, and... his clothes now smell like he went on a date with my Aunt Bessie. read more

Asked for a standard dry clean for a plain green silk dress. They gave me a 48 hour turn around time and was able to hold it for a few days as I was out of town. However, when I picked up the dress, I noticed there were black marks on the back. The material also isn't as smooth as before and the price is higher than other dry cleaners. Decided to give this place another try after a bad past experience. They promised a wedding dress would be ready in 2 weeks. I came a week after the promised date and it still wasn't ready. I came back a few days later to find that there were still oxidation stains on the dress. Thankfully I checked the whole dress myself because clearly they weren't gonna tell me anything. Huge waste of time. Again, this place was so unapologetic, defensive and doesn't do good work. I went there to get my bag cleaned before a trip, I gave them 2 weeks to clean this piece from what the attendant stated it would take. When I came to pick up the bag, it was in the same condition I left it. The attendant tried to argue and stated that the bag had been cleaned but it needs to be painted on the leather, but the sections of fabric are still dirty, which doesn't make sense painting leather and dirty fabric are totally opposite. Big NO on this place. Their tailor is incredibly rude. Do not spend your money here. Terrible service. I brought in a pair of brand new slacks (with tags still on them) to be hemmed. He was like, "You must get it dry cleaned first. There is too much fur on it." Admittedly there was maybe 5 pieces of dog fur on it, nothing terrible. Nothing a brief shake or brush with your hand couldn't rectify. I was like, "It's okay, I'll just brush it off." But he refused to do the alteration unless I paid for dry cleaning on top of the alteration. "Or take it home and wash it, then bring it back," he said. Which is absurd for a brand new garment! So I shook the slacks to dislodge whatever was on it, and he was like, "No no no don't do that in here. Take it away." Uhhhh...? I would maybe (maybe) understand if his work area was pristine, but it was filthy! He was just like, "No, I cannot work like this." Like he was Daniel Day Lewis from Phantom Thread or something. Anyway, total scam to get you to pay for more dry cleaning (which is inconsistent in quality at best). Don't go to them. They suck. Oh, and beware of the positive reviews of this place. They give you a discount (off their outrageously high prices) if you leave them a 5 star review and show it to them. So those good reviews have been purchased. I was a long time customer here. Staff was very kind during both drop off/pick up- I walked in right behind another customer both times, and a 2nd staff member came out of the back to assist me instead of making me wait. It's the little things, you know? Dry cleaning was quick and done well. Seemed a little expensive, but I could just be unfamiliar with going rates across the city. I had one sweater, one blazer, and one pair of pants and they charged $15/ea. There is a 20% discount for checking in via Yelp so that saved me a few bucks. read more
