Through our adventures in Bennington, we eventually found our way to the Apple Barn. Such a cute stop for some souvenirs and treats. We ended up coming by about 90 minutes before closing. As we headed toward the back of the shop to see if they were selling creemees, we saw they had samples of apple donuts out. They were tasty, but definitely could tell they were made earlier in the day as they were not too fresh. We assumed they were probably trying to clear out their inventory for the day. We eventually found the soft serve machine and ordered a maple creemee. I should start by saying that I'm not a big fan of maple, but if I'm going to try a Vermont creemee, I had to order a maple one. It was perfect, great texture and just a hint of maple taste. My husband asked to try it and he ultimately claimed it as his own, so we ended up buying a second one. So good! Service was okay. We got a weird vibe from the lady who was helping us. She seemed annoyed and very short while we were checking out the food and trying to order our creemee. Maybe because they were going to close soon? Not sure. But that was the only negative about our experience. The Apple Barn is definitely a cool spot to visit if you find yourself in Bennington. You can definitely get some tourist shopping/souvenirs and enjoy some treats while shopping. We would definitely come back if we found our way in Bennington again.

This store has potential- I think if the quality of the baked goods improves, this could be somewhere I'd want to visit more often. At the entrance, there were a few rules posted to keep things safe: wear masks, hand sanitizer between stations, maintain 6 ft distance. There were plenty of hand sanitizers available throughout for patrons, and even a couple of hand washing stations set up. We were asked to give our name and number upon entering for contact tracing, and then passed through a second tent that allowed us to use our credit card to buy tokens for use at the market. Traffic flow was set up so that people were generally moving in one direction only, and people did a good job of distancing. Was a nice spot to get some sunshine and help support local business. Glad we came!

You have been informed. :) I have passed The Store at Five Corners to attend my sons' sporting events for years. Today I broke down and tried it for lunch en route to a track meet. I cannot tell you how happy I am to have visited, and how disappointed I am to have wasted a decade not frequenting this place. It's a Normal Rockwell-esq, quaint and rustic colonial country store. The staff was simply outstanding. Local, authentic, attentive, personable yet professional and added to my experience (I wish I had gotten their names). They have delicious looking treats and baked goods, an array of interesting dry goods and unique drinks in a cold case - but the main focus is their breakfast and lunch sandwich, salad, and coffee menu. The list of offerings does not go on for days. It's efficient, and clearly allows them to be good at 12 things - rather than meh at 30. I ordered possibly the greatest plate of food I've ever had in Berkshire County with the white miso hummus and pickled vegetable salad. WOW. It was tasty, well proportioned and conceived, and balanced well beyond my expectations. I did add chicken at the suggestion of the staff - and even the chicken was additive. Perfectly cooked (I suspect wonderfully sous vide), tender, all natural, and tasty. I enjoyed it so much that as soon as my first plate was cleared (yes, you heard that correctly), I ordered a second!!! And, for the record, it was not due to a skimpy portion. I second that about the blueberry cake (which was sold by the 1/4 loaf, 1/2 or whole). It melted in my mouth. There were cakes, cookies, muffins and on and on. We always include the A Frame when visiting anything close to that area. It's worth the trip there!!
