This place was such a surprise and the best decision to end our Colorado trip with Indian food. The food was excellent. Service was quick and it was full. The ambiance felt like 90's indian restaurant We ordered lasooni Gobi (amazing),kurkuri bhindi, Samosa chat for appitizers and it was delicious. For the main course, we ordered achari aloo, katahal (jackfruit) fry, and baigan bharta all three were delicious. The naan was super soft. The pulav for kids was great too. We ended our meal with gulab jamun -there are 3 in one order and our server gave us 4 since there were four of them on the table. He saved us from fighting over gulab jamun. This was very good, a bit spicy but I love the variety, I usually have the cauliflower one but great to try something different. They also provide free papad. For my main I got the Rajma and Aloo, This was very tasty, I really like the beans and sauce. Rice for days! I got garlic naan bread as well, I thought this was not as fluffy as other ones that I had, but it was very soft and still tasty. Environment Parking can get filled up pretty quick, not much parking on side, but street parking is available. This inside was nice and cozy. There were booth tables and regular tables. I got mild for most of the items, one dish was spicy and I could feel the spice building up. I enjoyed the date naan as it was sweet but my friends didn't notice too much of the date flavor shining through. Came here with a large group of friends for a going away party. They were able to accommodate 12 of use which we know was rather difficult. I am not super familiar with Indian food outside my go-to dishes, so we ended up ordering a bunch of random dishes. Everything was delicious! I am not entirely sure what we all order, but it was so good that I would be willing to go back and order it all again. We had a people with nut and gluten allergies; there was something on the menu for everyone even though many dishes had those allergens. The best part was when the bill came. We had at least 3 to go boxes filled to the brim and yet the bill was only $250!! It was such a great deal and ended up being less than $25 pp for the feast! Traveled all over India and haven't been able to find a local restaurant that delivers authentic Indian cuisine until this place. WOW. There are many options from Northern India to the Southern (spicier and my preference) Indian cuisine. I ordered the Madras which is a southern cuisine made with coconut and curry leaves. You have your choice of rice (brown, cumin white or tumeric basmati) and choice of lamb or chicken. I ordered garlic naan was a perfect dish on a cold night. We ordered the Masala blooming onion which was almost too much food. Highly recommend and with such a large menu, it will take several visits to find my favorite dish. For my birthday I celebrated with a dear friend and her little one at her house. We ordered spice room delivery and everything was so delicious. Food was good, service was slow. Few friends were recommended this spot saying it's a great Indian place to try. I won't lie, the food was good. I really enjoyed the masala Indian bloom - it's a less tangled onion bhaji. I also got the lamb tikka masala and it was really good and perfectly tender. Now why not give 5 stars? First reason is the service. It was extra slow tonight. Took us about two hours for our whole turn. I also heard the table next to us complain about the wait. They asked for an update on their food status a few times and also had to ask for the check with how slow it was going. Second reason i am docking this place is their menu is a little misleading. A lot of stuff is labeled GF but it's really not as most of it shares a fryer with gluten stuff. Just be cautious of that if you are gluten free. Maybe it was an off night in the kitchen because it took longer than expected. The food was good enough to try this place again in the future, however. For now, have to give 3/5. read more

We were in town on vacation when I was able to locate a friend who lives in the Denver area and invite him to dinner. We asked him to find a restaurant for us. He suggested Indian food at Spice Room. The reviews complained about parking. Indeed, we found no spots in the parking lot (which only parks about ten cars), but we got lucky and found a spot perilously close to a fire hydrant. THEN, as we were getting out of the car, my wife spotted a car leaving the parking lot! We started up the car and moved into the vacated spot. The food is great. I'm a big fan of tandoori chicken, so I ordered that. It was tasty and too much for me to finish. My friend ordered the same and didn't finish his, either. (I don't recall what my wife ordered.) If I had to complain about something, it would be the 1-5 spice scale. I ordered my food at a 2 and barely tasted the heat. (In contrast, I ordered food at another Indian restaurant earlier in the week and a 3 was too hot to handle.) It's a big restaurant, not at all in proportion to the available parking. Restaurant itself seems nice and clean, it's off Colfax with minimal associated parking, may have to park some blocks away as the streets can get pretty full Staff were pleasant, however it's the food that was so lacking. Got a spinach paneer and lamb curry to go, both were really lacking in flavor. Their mango lassi was very watered down and served with ice, not great bang for buck. I have ordered delivery from Spice Room countless times, and it's always been good. I finally dined in person, and was not disappointed. Everything was delicious and flavorful. There are lots of options on the menu, and I particularly appreciate the ability to make most dishes dairy-free. I love their lamb entrees (curry and Rogan Josh especially) and the Chicken 65, but everything is good. If you're going dairy-free, I will admit the chicken tikka masala isn't quite the same without the cream. The coconut flavor really comes through and it changes the dish. It's not bad though. It's not as good as other Indian places because of the flavor of the food. There were a lot of seeds and taste of black licorice/fennel in the samosa. I've had many samosas in my life and one never tasted like this, in a not preferred way. The samosa dough seemed under cooked, as well. The mutter paneer was oddly sweet. Never had that dish taste sweet before. The chicken tikka masala was good. The naan was ok, we got cheesy garlic. It was flat though and didn't have pockets of air like I'm used to seeing with naan. I eat Indian food quite often. I wanted to try this place for a while. I live downtown so I was excited to add a new fabulous restaurant to my list. parking lot was I just mew this was the place . However, it was so TERRIBLE!! . I had to send my food back, which that is something I don't do. I let them know I would pay for my drinks They also told me I could take the food to give to a homeless person after I tipped very well because I thought that they were really kind when technically the tip should've been $4.00 for my glass of wine & beer I ordered to go with my dinner. After paying They snatched the food off the table & proceeded to be rude so therefore I will NEVER go back I considered going back at a later date, to try something else i'm bringing my husband and my other daughter this time this restaurant is off my list it's unfortunate my family & eat out 2-3 times a week.
