If money is being exchanged beyond standard adoption fees, the public deserves clarity on where funds are going and whether shelters are aware. Donations should support care, vetting, and rescue efforts--not personal profit. If this is a legitimate rescue operation, transparency, nonprofit status, and itemized use of funds should be clearly provided. Otherwise, this feels misleading to donors and unfair to families who adopt in good faith. After going through the intense interview process we were assigned a matchmaker. I thought this process would be exciting but it was not. JL didn't have the best communication, not hearing from her 1+ months at a time and even getting us confused with other couples. She was usually abrasive and condescending over the phone. I felt like I had to keep reminding her that we've had goldens before. We tried to suggest dogs that popped up on the website or facebook page and were reprimanded for doing so. We said that a main requirement was making sure the new dog got along with our current one but that never seemed like a concern to them. JL would call us about a dog that just came in that they didn't know anything about and give us a couple to hours to decide and we'd have to go pick them up in 2 days from the Vet right after being spayed. I felt like they just wanted to throw something at the wall and see what sticks. She kept telling us to trust the process (over and over again) so we did with one of these last minute dogs and it did not work out. In fact she wound up having giardia and gave it to our older dog. Then we got gaslighted for saying it was a bad match and I once again had to remind her that we've had young goldens before. This is when I started asking around and it seemed like everyone I talked to that had a positive experience adopting from GRR had a different matchmaker than us. Before giving up i sent an email to the GRR President and VP pleading to try one more time with a different matchmaker and instead of responding they forwarded it to ours and she proceeded to chew me out over the phone like i was a child. I was never mean or ugly or anything in that email. if there was room i'd paste the email in here. As I'm writing this it's been 3 months since we've heard from JL. No check in or anything. In that 3 months we've found another golden rescue (based in dallas), got approved and already have had the new dog a couple months now. We've also met several other people that used to get their dogs from GRR that are working with this new rescue now. They were assigned JL as well and just gave up and left like we had to. Hopefully you'll have better luck than we did with GRR.

While they were good, it was a huge mistake. Even though she knows we're pulling up to the vet and freaks out, when you get in, at least they have confined spaces and extra hands to help handle the dog. They now have an exam room with an entrance from the front of the building. We managed to work it out such that the room was available when we pulled up and didn't have to go sit in the lobby waiting for a room. That said, there were still two trips through the lobby to weigh and then for her exam and shots. Dr. Kemnitz is a practical vet and I've been pleased with his work. God rest Dr. Holcomb.

He couldn't stop scratching, and his ears were bothering him. This wonderful staff worked me in without an appointment on a Saturday. Dr. Ryan and William. The vet tech were amazing. They prescribed some allergy meds, cream for his eyes and ears, and the dog was a different animal the very next day. This staff is amazing. I highly recommend them!

I loved the 2 acre land tour and explaining everything you do for these babies who need a forever home. The love, care and time is beautiful. I got to witness one of the cats being adopted today and got to congratulate the gentleman on his new pet. It was the sweetest thing! This shelter is very clean and they take the time to make sure it stays that way since some of the pets coming in could have health issues.

I know everything is getting more expensive. And in a world of more and more expensive things, this…read morejust seems outrageously overpriced to begin with. Everyone seems nice enough, but the vet techs seemed inexperienced as they tried to take my dogs blood multiple times, in front of me, stabbing him at least 5 times, before getting someone else to do it. Are you actively training your techs, on my dog, in front of me? Someone else mentioned a bad blood work, and another person mentioned the machine was broken. We had a similar experience with our dogs blood work. first visit, some of his levels were 'off the charts', ie. their machine couldnt read them. we were told that their machine typically reads up to 5x the normal levels, anything over that and it just wont read it. no other alternative. no possiblity that it was a testing error. no desire or offer to retest to confirm. just immediate recommendation for hospitalization (when his only real symptom was a little lethargic and not eating consistently.) We were scared and worried, so we said "yeah, do it, save our dog". 24 hours later, they retested his blood (keep in mind, their blood test is about $200 more than anywhere else youll go already) and its 'mostly normal, one or two things are slightly elevated' and the Dr at that time said 'he has never seen blood levels come back down to normal that quickly' Maybe you messed up the test to begin with and my dog was never that sick. But you never confirmed the initial reading, that was just used to scare us into hospitalizing him and spending $5k with you. We took him to another vet for a second opinion. We got all of his records. The off the charts results, and the next day, and next week results. And were told that those 'off the charts' results are unusable, thats a lab error, and the blood would have needed to be retested. As convenient as their location and hours are, we will NOT be coming back here

Today was the second time that our golden came home with a gash on his face. This time it's bad…read moreenough that I'm sitting in the lobby of an emergency vet to get him cleaned up and stitches up. In both instances our dog was injured because a staff member ignored him while he was in their kennel. He heard me at the door and got excited. Like all dogs. But instead of trying to get him calmed down or out of the kennel all together. Instead he's now getting about a dozen stitches. The owner wasn't there at the time. She called and told me that they should have him come in any more. IN OTHER WORDS...ITS THE DOGS FAULT! Are you kidding me. DO NOT bring your pet to Train My Dogs! Period RESPONSE TO OWNER WOW! So if I understand what you're trying to say, this is our fault for continuing to bring him there. If he did pass your "test" you should have said so day one. Don't try and excuse your mistakes by saying you took Walle in in spite of risks. That's not only one of the dumbest things I've ever heard, but it clearly shows you wont claim ANY RESPONSIBILITY for the fact that your staff knew of the risk and ignored it. Stop trying to make yourself feel better at our expense.

They have four different modules that the pets cycle through--school, outdoor playtime, pool/water fun, and naptime. They pair dogs by personality/temperament and size. The people who work at this business actually REALLY do love dogs. They understand them, they like them, they treat them like individuals by helping them where they're at and what they need to work on. We have been super impressed with this place. I love the fact that we get dog obedience with dog play time all in the same day. Our puppy comes home super happy and exhausted! We've tried most of the dog day care locations in and around the downtown Austin area and we are most happy with this place. They are super accommodating for their clients, they have really well-trained staff and they really do what they say they're going to do with your dog.

I have been using this wonderful pet sitter for my 15 year old Papillon and highly recommend them…read more The first time Pat took care of Cosmo he needed drops three times a day diligently and Cosmo is a biter but Pat put his gloves on and made it happen. I was very worried about my dog but he would send me pictures and updates about his health so I can enjoy my vacation. When I got back from my vacation I couldn't put his drops in by myself and Pat continued to come by and help me out with a Cosmo. Truly going above and beyond has call of duty. Last night Cosmo was attacked by another dog in his face and was bleeding profusely I called Pat and he drove me to an animal hospital. Once again going above and beyond the call of duty. Not sure what I would've done without him last night. So if you're looking for a pet sitting service that truly cares about your Pats I highly recommend Pat and Jen
