The store is over all great from staff, selection of animals to selection of feeders and decorations. Got my first crested gecko here as a baby and he's gotten the size of my palm now. eventually worked my way up to monitor lizards(got my black dragon from here) They have a very WIDE selection of animals, varying from your very big lizards to your smallest lizards. They also got BUGS I LOVE BUGS got big BUGS and small BUGS (my favorite) ranging from decomposers to predators. I got some isopods and spring tails and the cultures are boomin. Some tarstulas and scorpions and even a centipede from here, all thriving. All my animals have been from this shop. They are super friendly and happy to help you with a lot of your questions about the animals. Super knowledgeable. Super great people I read another review and she was pretty nasty toward this store about the hours of operation of this location. That is clearly shown when they will be open and closed and it shows will be closed everyday from 2:30-3:30for their breaks in my opinion good owner on caring about their employees rather then caring about hours of operations not to sure because I am only a buyer but next time I stop by I will ask them but I believe a portion of that time when they are closed also goes toward feeding or cleaning some of their animals enclosures so amazing owner for caring about its employees AND animals by setting aside that time to get it done or even if it's is just for a break for the employees that is up to the OWNER to set HIS hours of operation for HIS store location that you know HE owns. I've been debating on posting this review for some months now. However, after being told some…read moreinteresting information i feel it's best to share my experience. Just for background I own 12 birds, they are cockatiels,parakeets, sun conure, and a ring neck. About 90% of my birds I have gotten as babies and i've owned them for a few years now. Going back to April this year, my family and I went in to purchase a Ring neck. They gave us the price of $800, ended up paying about $850. Mind you they had just sold my brother a ring neck , SAME color for $980. Anyways, the baby was still being hand fed. No problem. We took the bird home and that same evening I noticed they had snot running down its beak. Ive never seen something like this before so I messaged them the SAME DAY regarding this. They claimed it was normal and the bird was just acclimating to their new environment. Ok.. never had that happen. The next day the bird was getting weaker and weaker. We brought the bird home on a Saturday late afternoon, and by Monday morning around 9 something i was trying to get in contact with the shop calling them and messaging them because the bird was not looking good and showing signs of not making it. Once i got on the phone with one of the owners she was very cold over the phone, and asked how much did i pay and to bring the bird and i'll get a refund. Unfortunately on my way there the bird passed away. I went in the shop and told them what happened. There was a girl there with red streaks in her hair who was attending me (same girl who sold us the bird) and right off the bat blaming me and making me feel as if i killed the bird. She put the owner on the phone, I believe the other girl and she sounded empathetic, but after she said it could have been my house that caused the bird to die. Such as air scents, cleaners etc. I've had birds all my life growing up, i know what i can and can't have around them. She went as far as saying she would have to see my house to determine if that was the cause, okay go ahead. As someone who revolves their life around animals should know birds are known to hide their illness until it's too late. The owner never gave me a refund but she sure offered me a discount on another bird. Quick to take my $ but won't have the decency to reimburse me. Fast forward to now, my brother's couple went to ask about the ring necks and was told they had a batch die as well as 2 in the shop. This just confirmed what's been weighing on me for 15 weeks. I have not bought a bird since this incident due to how the girl at the shop and the owner made me feel. I felt humiliated crying there basically being told it was my fault. This was never a me problem. This is a problem with who they are buying their birds from. I didn't get a refund and a bird lost its life. I'm taking the next steps to making my report to the BBB.

I'm quite the nutterball when it comes to rats if you haven't noticed & every single one of my rats came from this very shop. All tame, healthy, happy. Depending on when you go they may have a limited amount of rats or quite the variety! The last time I went they had a few full grown rats. Some a little younger than that, some young adults and QUITE THE AMOUNT of juveniles! I took in 6 juveniles and a young adult. The place itself is small but very nice. Plenty of pets to choose from. Depending when you go you might even spot a cute lil pig in there Plenty of birds & cool reptiles to choose from. There are bunnies/rabbits, Guinea pigs, hamsters, rats & mice. If you're interested in live crickets for your reptile then this is the perfect place. For rat, mice and reptile owners - this place has plenty of mealworms! Plenty of stuff for pet care as far as food, housing/cages, hay, bedding, hideouts, treats & feeders go. Staffing? They're very kind, friendly & helpful. Ray & his mother are the main ones but there are other workers there too that may take out reptiles to show or allow ppl to pet. Everyone is super friendly. I'm small and not super strong but I do MUST buy those huge bags of pellets for my rats... since I can't carry them, well, one of the workers helped carry it out to my sisters car so that was really nice. The store owner Roy has helped me before as well. Idk why there's some bad reviews about him, so weird, he's such a nice & informative guy! Anyways! I strongly recommend this place! Surprisingly though, with the amount of animals that they have there, especially BIRDS, it did NOT smell, so big kudos for that. Yes, they have reptiles here, lots of beardies, crested geckos of all sizes, morphs, with and without tails, a frilled lizard, rock iguanas, various snakes, and honestly THE MOST chameleons, especially large ones that I HAVE EVER SEEN even at a reptile shop, so if you're looking for chameleons this might actually be the place. There's a lot of cohabitation going on, but honestly, aside from the East Bay Vivarium, due to lack of space and funding, this is an unfortunate aspect that can't be avoided... They also have lots of birds including parrots of all sizes, cockatiels, finches, and even a chicken. They're kept in a very tall, big display coop which is pretty cool. There aren't really any bird shops in the area (the most exotic you'll get are aquarium shops and SOME reptile ones), so if you have feathered friends, this is the place to go. I LOVE that they have prepackaged feed specifically for different species. Made by the business owners for sure and they also have a good amount of feeders too. For mammals they have some hamsters, bunnies, and guinea pigs. For inverts, they have tarantulas and scorpions. There's a good variety of pet supplies here too (some dog and cat items too) that I don't see at other places, so that's neat too.

The shop is family operated, local, spotlessly clean, smells great, and is filled with beautiful, healthy birds. While the birds are fantastic, Augustine is the real star of the show. We ended up having a long, wonderful conversation with him. You can instantly tell when someone is genuinely passionate about what they do, and Augustine goes above and beyond. He is incredibly knowledgeable and takes immaculate care of every single bird, from grooming to boarding. Coming here feels like visiting an amusement park because it is that exciting and welcoming. Even if you are just stopping by for basic supplies and not buying a bird, you are made to feel valued just for being there. I normally do not…read morecheck expiration dates closely, but this time I happened to look at the items one by one before paying and noticed that one of the dog food products in the fridge was already expired. Thankfully I caught it before purchasing, but it was concerning to see expired pet food still being displayed for sale. Pet owners trust stores to keep products safe and properly monitored, especially refrigerated food items. I hope the management can improve routine checking of expiration dates to prevent this from happening again and ensure the safety of pets.

I had been coming to this spot for years with my roommate to get some specialty food for our cats. The customer service was great, we often got their boba, and came by often. During one of these visits we spotted a cat that looked super cute and we were interested in him immedietly. However, he appeared sick, something that can happen with kittens in shelter/cat cafe spaces, but we went back a few times and he always seemed sick and still remained within the population of the other cats. Eventually we asked if they had his medical records-something...most cat adoption spaces would have-and they did not have them on hand, but recomended coming to an adoption event they were hosting to talk with the woman who ran the rescue they were from. We ended up doing this, this woman-who was actively giving shots to cats while doing this event-had no medical records on her but assured that he was perfectly healthy if just having a small cold. We were still hesitant as we have a cat that with high medical needs that are both a deal to deal with as well as expensive. However the day after the event they called us and asked if we still wanted him because he was there. We ended up getting him. However, when we were handed all of his medical information there was basically Nothing in it. Besides saying he was fixed and he had some shots. Some, not all that a 6 month old cat should have at that point, especially when around varying ages of other cats coming and going as often as they were. Despite appearing plainly sick, there was no sign in these medical records for intervention. Thus began 6 months of near constant vet visits. Congestion. Collapsed lungs from how hard he sneezed and coughed. He was the sweetest cuddliest kindest cat i've ever known, but he was sick near constantly. It took months, but eventually a vet discovered he had calicivirus, a virus that causes upper respiratory infections that typically can be treated or prevented with proper care as a kitten. This however was only part of the problem. 6 months into having him he suddenly grew very very ill almost overnight, and upon taking him to the ER it was discovered he had feline leukemia as well, something that they said he must have also always had, also, again, as a kitten. Something that can be helped with correct care, but is also incredibly viral, especially amidst so many other cats. We had had all his missing vaccines adminstered right after adopting him that ultimately would've had most likely prevented a lot of the issues he ended up having, or certainly extending his life past the 1 simple year that he was granted. But by the time we'd adopted him and he'd gotten all these shots it was far too late. We had to unfortunately put him to sleep within a few days of getting this diagnosis. He was a great cat, but ultimately a sick cat, and the lack of care and transparency that seems to occur here I believe ultimately led to his death. Two weeks before his death, and we decided to stop coming here for good, I had even seen a cat with a hurt paw limping around, within my two week visit that cat remained injured and again with the general public to be allowed to tussle and play while assumedly with some kind of injury. I don't want to say they aren't taking care of these animals correctly because I don't know. This might've been a mistake. Simple negligence, assuming it was nothing major when it was. But they are allowing these animals around each other, and then letting people adopt sick animals that can not only be costly, but ultimately traumatizing to have to watch one basically die in front of you because of things they should've done if they were a proper adoption agency. Perhaps it was dumb to adopt a cat that was quite obviously sick, but at the same time I trusted to establishment I had been going to for a long while to be telling me the truth that he not as bad as he ended up being, and ultimately that trust was not worth much of anything in the end. If you want their boba, their pet food, that is fine if you must have it, however, I ask if you do spot a cat you want please pressure them for information and if you see something wrong don't let them tell you that cat is just fine.
