CK Fish World in Covina is one of the best fish stores I've been to. From the moment I walked in, the staff was really helpful and welcoming, taking the time to answer questions and give solid advice without trying to push unnecessary purchases. The store itself is super clean and very well organized, it honestly reminds me of the high-quality fish stores you see in Asia, where everything is laid out neatly and maintained properly. The fish quality is the best I've seen anywhere around here. All the fish looked healthy, active, and well cared for, which really says a lot. I picked up some beautiful Mayan koi for my pond and also bought fish for my turtles, and everything has been doing great. The selection is excellent, prices are fair, and you can tell they genuinely care about their livestock and customers. I'll definitely be coming back and highly recommend CK Aquarium to anyone serious about the hobby.

CK Fish World is hands-down the best aquarium shop in Southern California. They carry both freshwater and saltwater fish and invertebrates, but what really sets them apart is the range and rarity of what they offer, dart frogs, newts, mini Thai crabs, and more. On top of that, they have hundreds of pounds of driftwood in at least six different types, and more rock varieties than I could count. The place is massive and fully stocked. I've been to nearly every major fish store across Los Angeles and Orange County, Lifeguard Aquatics, Tokyo Aquarium, Nature Aquarium, Age of Aquariums, Tongs Tropical Fish & Pets, Nolan's Aquarium, DD Fish Pets, Cali's Tropical Fish and none of them come close. They either lack inventory, are overpriced, or fall short on quality. CK Fish is the only place that has everything in one stop: huge selection, rare species, top quality, and low prices. If you're serious about the hobby, stop wasting time driving all over the region. This is the shop you've been looking for.

I have always been interested to start an aquascape but soon realized not a lot of aquariums carry a wide variety of nano fish and materials for aquascaping. That's when I found CK Fish World. They have everything! I love it. They have a section of bins organized with different types of stones and driftwood. They even have a box for you to build your concept design with the materials you find! As a person with an architecture and design background, I loved this! It saved me so many trips to the shop trying to figure out how to build a mountain scene in my aquarium. They also have tanks, lights, decorative caves, rocks and sand to build your dream aquarium. On the other side of the shop is where you'll find the living items: plants, fish, shrimps! Coral and saltwater fish. They literally have everything you need, including shrimp food. Plus they also provide free? Water testing with your purchase. Just bring a bottle of your aquarium water and they help test your water to identify heavy metals or other issues and containments. Outside of the shop, parking is very convenient as they are located in the back and basically have the entire parking lot to themselves. So far I have purchased their cherry shrimp and yellow shrimp which seemed to be very healthy as all have been thriving in my aquarium for over a week now. I will definitely be back to get some nano fish in the near future!

Dropped by to see fish but checked out some frogs. Always thought they were just emersed plants lol. So tempting to get some but I don't have space for another pet. They look beautiful though! Also saw some nice crabs. Ended up picking up some silver tetra fish. Thank you!

My first time here was a few days ago - I got Hornwort, bolbitus, and dwarf water lettuce. They were all thriving. Hornwort fluffy and full! Also Thursday's is 25% off plants !! I came again today and brought a friend and she was also so happy we stayed there for like an hour just looking at everything. They have multiple rooms and a lot of tanks. The store seems small but it's not ; there's a lot of variety of fish, plants, and shrimp. Today there were red root floaters, one of the employees actually grew them - they were so healthy and super red I had to buy 3 cups !! I got more dwarf water lettuce bc my axolotl loved hanging in the roots. Staff today was super nice and helpful. There were 2 guys. It was extremely busy when I came like 10 people and they were helping everyone collaboratively. I hate when an employee only focuses on 1 customer who takes forever thinking and observing and there's a ton of ppl waiting. It wasn't like that here, the guy would answer a question and move on to another client. Also when the guy was fishing out some shrimp he was still talking to other customers and answering questions. They also clearly know what they're doing. The staff is knowledgeable and can answer questions without giving you that blank stare you sometimes get at other aquarium shops. But the pricing is honestly kind of shocking. A lot of their equipment is outrageously overpriced compared to what you can find online or even at other local stores. For example, I saw a UNS double valve connector selling for about $60 when the same thing is easily available online for around $20. They also had the Kessil 35° reflector priced at $50, and I've never seen those go for more than $30 or $35 anywhere else. I get that local fish stores have overhead and can't always compete with online pricing, and I'm totally fine paying a little more to support a brick and mortar shop. But some of these markups feel excessive. If you need something immediately and don't mind paying a premium, it's a solid store with good selection and knowledgeable staff. Just be prepared for some pretty steep prices on certain items. Overall I'd say it's worth visiting, but definitely price check before buying equipment.
