CK's Fish World has a great selection of fish and aquarium supplies. The fish are healthy, and the tanks are usually clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and willing to answer questions. I have had good experiences here and enjoy looking at all the different fish they have available. Prices are fair, and there is usually something interesting to see each visit. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because there is still some room for improvement, but overall it is a great fish store that I would recommend to anyone interested in fish keeping. read more

We first heard of CK Fish World when we attended the reptile & fish expo at the Fairplex last year. Our son loves fish and asked for some new fish and a tank refresh for his birthday, so we went to CK to check it out. I called ahead of time to ask what fish would be best for the tank setup we have already and the staff members were so knowledgeable and patient with our kiddo while he chose the fish he wanted. The store lowkey looks like a mad scientist's lab, but in the best way! The tanks were clean and there were obvious quarantine procedures taking place. They have a beautiful and expansive assortment of freshwater and saltwater fish and other marine animals, tank equipment, and aquarium/tank decor. The staff member checking us out gave us a little discount when he heard the purchases were for our kid's birthday. My son loves his new fish and I'm so glad we decided to go to CK instead of a large pet store corporation! Huge shout out again to the staff! After seeing how they have transformed their Lakewood location since taking over, i had to come by and see their main location. As soon as i walked in the door i had a huge smile on my face. The largest selection of tanks and dry goods i have ever seen, clean tanks full of healthy fish, and tons of staff that are happy to help. I was even inspired by their scape location to use a old tank that i just replaced for a new freshwater setup. (i just biught a tank and stand from their other location that replaced this one. CK Fish World in Covina is one of the best fish stores I've been to. From the moment I walked in, the staff was really helpful and welcoming, taking the time to answer questions and give solid advice without trying to push unnecessary purchases. The store itself is super clean and very well organized, it honestly reminds me of the high-quality fish stores you see in Asia, where everything is laid out neatly and maintained properly. The fish quality is the best I've seen anywhere around here. All the fish looked healthy, active, and well cared for, which really says a lot. I picked up some beautiful Mayan koi for my pond and also bought fish for my turtles, and everything has been doing great. The selection is excellent, prices are fair, and you can tell they genuinely care about their livestock and customers. I want to start off by saying that as far as fish selection and equipment goes, this is probably the best place in all of So cal. Little bit pricey but worth it especially if you're skeptical of online fish stores. This is the Home Depot of LFS. Lol However, if you're a newcomer to this hobby with a lot of questions you might be a little turned off by this place. Ask any type of "dumb" question that you genuinely want answered because you have no idea and they'll make you feel like an idiot. I get that they deal with a lot of people who maybe just come in to browse and in their eyes "waste their time" but maybe if they fixed up their attitude they'd get a lot more business from those types of people. Now there were 1 or 2 employees who were actually sincerely helpful the few times I've gone so that's why I still give them 4 stars but just be aware that you might not feel welcomed by some. read more

wow! the selection here is incredible! my partner is looking to buy some fish soon and we came by to plan what to get in the future, the staff checked in with us a few times and were very helpful when we did ask for assistance. there is an excellent selection with diverse climates, i was amazed by their frog, toad and koi displays. i loved the biodiversity in their toad displays, they carry the intricacies needed to create and maintain these habitats. we will be back after we finish planning our fish tank habitat :) read more

CK's Fish World is a gem. Their selection of livestock and supplies is by far the most comprehensive I've seen in S. California. It's amazing how much they have on hand both in livestock and dry goods. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful as well. They stock items that other stores have to special order - I made the drive up from 2 hours south and it was well worth the visit. I only wish I had more time to browse. I've had mixed experiences at CK Fish World. My husband comes in regularly to test his fish tank water, buy water, and occasionally purchase fish. Unfortunately, he's noticed inconsistent customer service. At times, the staff--especially who he believes may be the owner--can come off as rude or dismissive. There have been instances where he felt ignored while waiting for help, which can be frustrating as a returning customer. That said, not everyone there is like that. He mentioned that the woman working there is always kind and respectful, and there's another male employee who is helpful and provides great service when he's around. Because of the inconsistency, it's hard to fully recommend the shop, but when you do get help from the right staff, the experience is much better. Hoping they can improve overall customer service to match the good experiences we've had with certain employees. read more

Hands down, the best aquarium store I've been to in Los Angeles. There is absolutely no doubt about it. There are other fantastic aquarium shops in the area and I've written reviews for them as well, but this place is on another level. The selection is incredible. A huge variety of fish and plants, and easily the largest freshwater fish selection I've personally seen. Pricing is very fair overall. Some items are on the higher end, but many others are surprisingly affordable, which balances out nicely. They are heavily freshwater focused, which I appreciate, but they also have a solid saltwater selection. On top of that, their dry goods section is massive. Filters, lights, heaters, substrate, tanks, stands, and pretty much everything you could need for a setup. This is a true full-service aquarium store. The store is clean, well stocked, and clearly run by people who genuinely care about the hobby. I honestly wish I lived closer because I would be here weekly. 15 out of 10. Two thumbs up. If you are into aquariums and live anywhere near Los Angeles, you would be doing yourself a disservice by not visiting this store. read more

I have always been interested to start an aquascape but soon realized not a lot of aquariums carry a wide variety of nano fish and materials for aquascaping. That's when I found CK Fish World. They have everything! I love it. They have a section of bins organized with different types of stones and driftwood. They even have a box for you to build your concept design with the materials you find! As a person with an architecture and design background, I loved this! It saved me so many trips to the shop trying to figure out how to build a mountain scene in my aquarium. They also have tanks, lights, decorative caves, rocks and sand to build your dream aquarium. On the other side of the shop is where you'll find the living items: plants, fish, shrimps! Coral and saltwater fish. They literally have everything you need, including shrimp food. Plus they also provide free? Water testing with your purchase. Just bring a bottle of your aquarium water and they help test your water to identify heavy metals or other issues and containments. Outside of the shop, parking is very convenient as they are located in the back and basically have the entire parking lot to themselves. So far I have purchased their cherry shrimp and yellow shrimp which seemed to be very healthy as all have been thriving in my aquarium for over a week now. Just wanna look at the whole store and you'll know that these guys know what's up. Every time I come, I find myself spending a lot of time just looking at all the aqua scapes. This is like a fish hobbyist's Costco for all fish/aquarium needs. There is an outstanding amount of tools, equipment, tanks, solution, etc. to help with fish needs. Their freshwater and saltwater tanks are organized beautifully. For most of their fish, they include cards that assist aquarium owners with the temperament, group dynamics, and level of care for the species of fish. They also have a great selection of plants that look lush and beautiful. All the workers we spoke to seemed very knowledgeable and helpful with helping with the success of setting up our aquarium. They even helped us glue down plants on rocks so they wouldn't float away. The prices on some items here are a bit on the higher side when being compared to other aquarium shops in the area. read more
