It's in a convenient location across the street from Cucina Alba (go for lunch!) and with a storefront which I really appreciate - so many bridal shops are located inside office buildings. Kelly helped us and she was sooo sweet and helpful. We had limited time (appointments are 1hour) but we tried at least 10 dresses and she was happy to accommodate any style we wanted to try. Overall, SPINA was my favorite bridal shop we visited that day. It's small, has a beautiful and curated collection, and the service was excellent. Came here on a Friday afternoon with my cousins after she mistakenly booked an appointment for the following week. We called several times before leaving the house to confirm my appointment but no one answered. So we left her house and drove two hours to see what she hoped would be the dress of her dreams. When we got to the bridal salon the woman looked at us from behind the door and unlocked it. The woman just popped her head out of the door and rudely asked when our appointment was. When we realized our mistake, we begged just to SEE the dress my cousin had in mind, but the woman would not budge. We even told her how far we'd driven but to no avail. WE LOVE PAUL AND VANESSA AND MIKO (sorry puppy if we spelled your name wrong!) We had our wedding on June 10th, 2012 at Tribeca Rooftop. We don't have a huge budget, but we really wanted to have our wedding in the city - where we met and spent the past years in. Before we started planning the wedding, we didn't know the florist was the one responsible for decorating and designing the venue to make it special and personal to us. The more we researched and reached out to florists, the more daunting the search became. One of the places actually told us that the price would be around $300 per person! $300 per person for flowers? Are our guests eating the flowers? By the time we reached out to SPINA, we were pretty discouraged, and I began to think of doing the flowers ourselves - thank GOD we didn't! After our first meeting with Paul and Vanessa, we knew we've found the right people. We had a very limited budget after spending most of it on the venue - and our main concern going into the meeting was whether they'd be able to understand our vision without requiring us to spend an extravagant amount money. Paul was more than understanding when listening to our ideas and concerns, and he was so creative and patient in helping us carry out what we had in mind for as little as possible. He made suggestions to help us save money, which was so refreshing after talking to vendors who seemed to be out there to take whatever you are willing to spend. The best part of working with SPINA is the people - Paul and Vanessa are so personable and warm that we didn't feel at all pushed in any way - and they are also firm in their standards of beauty and quality that they will always tell you when something wouldn't work or look good.... and when it's worth it to spend the money. On the day of the wedding, it was such a calming and happy feeling to see their familiar faces. The tables, flowers, and everything else were so beautiful. We wanted a simple and relaxed look - since our wedding was very casual - and that's what we got, with a touch of SPINA flair. Giselle, Lauren, and the whole team at Spina at amazing. The appointments are 1-on-1 so during each visit I was the only bride in the boutique - unlike other bridal stores, I never once felt rushed or crowded. This experience alone deserves 5 stars, but really, the review starts here. I purchased my dress in January from Spina after a whirlwind weeking of trying on dresses at many places. I'd been torn between the dress I chose and another dress at their store, and 4 months later I was still thinking about that other dress and realized I made a huge mistake. I called Giselle and Lauren in tears and without hesitation, they said come back in, we will help you fix this and you will walk down in a dress that you LOVE. Sure enough, they made it possible for me to purchase the dress I'd been dreaming about and applied the amount I'd already spent to do so. They truly saved the day and saved me from months of anxiety. To add, they didn't have to do any of this. Spina did a wonderful job with our wedding! We had an overly complicated, multi-cultural wedding that required twice as many vendors as your average wedding in order to please all the families. Paul was understanding of the circumstances, was a calming presence, and made the planning a seamless process. During the design stage, Paul offered many ideas that fit within our vision of the wedding. I had ideas on color schemes and some particulars on flowers (peonies for my bouquet) but was otherwise in need of design assistance. He kept within our budget and put together bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, all centerpieces, and linens. Before the wedding, he showed me a mock centerpiece and table setting and made sure I was happy with everything. He was responsive to my emails and offered to meet as often as I liked in the months before the wedding. On the day of the wedding, Paul and his team were organized, efficient, and set up everything beautifully. Two tablecloths were delivered to the venue that were a slightly different color from the rest. Paul took care of the issue quickly. I'd highly recommend Paul and his team! He was a pleasure to work with, kept within our budget, and we were very happy with the results! read more

DO NOT USE THEM! I had to take time off of work and pay for fare to be turned down at the door for a bridal appointment that had been scheduled AND CONFIRMED in 2 separate emails!!! Apparently, they were using the space for a photo shoot which I'm guessing was booked more than 24 hours in advance. If they can't handle scheduling a simple appointment, I can't imagine how they handle wedding coordination. Since they didn't have the decency to call me to cancel, and instead waited until I showed up at the door, I will take my business elsewhere and suggest others do the same. read more

Spina is such a special place. Not only are the dresses unique and expertly curated, but it is also such a nice refuge from the bigger, pushier, less intimate NYC shops. It will just be you, Giselle, and your shopping buddies, and she'll help you find dresses that make you feel magically gorgeous. The dress I ended up choosing was totally not what I'd envisioned, and I'm not sure I would've tried it on if she hadn't suggested it, but it was absolutely PERFECT - I felt amazing in it and had so many people tell me it was one of the most special dresses they'd ever seen. We got married on July 5, 2013 at Tribeca Rooftop in Manhattan. Paul and his team did an INCREDIBLE job! We were thrilled with the entire event and we especially appreciated the tone that was set by the decorations. From the first time we met with Paul, we just knew he was UNIQUE; however, it wasn't until our second meeting with him that we were convinced that there was no one else we wanted to work with. Paul had such CREATIVE and CLEVER ideas and he understood the concept that we were trying to create. We LOVED his suggestions and ideas and we could not be more impressed with his chuppah vision, it was FABULOUS! A wedding is a lot of work, the planning and organization are endless, but when you have your friend standing by your side to answer your questions and to give honest answers, rest assured that everything will turn out SPECTACULAR!!! Hiring Paul was one of the the BEST decisions we made!!! He became our friend and remained extremely professional every step of the way! We appreciate the STUPENDOUS job he did. Thanks a million!!! THISSSS is where you need to buy your wedding dress! Spina wasn't yet open when I was dress shopping but I did come in to buy some accessories for myself and my flower girl. Giselle has great, curated pieces, my favorite being from Luna Bea Bride (who is an absolute gem). Spina has an excellent selection of dresses and accessories and Giselle is incredibly sweet. I had a nightmare dress situation with the NY bridal salon whose name starts with a G, and throughout my accessories appointments, Giselle helped calm me down. In a sea of giant wedding gown showrooms, this place is a dream. The owner Giselle is beyond sweet and helpful. Once you walk in all the stress of picking a dress is gone. This review is for the newly opened Spina Bridal Shop. From the moment I entered Spina Bridal shop, I felt special. I was greeted by Giselle who supplied slippers and hot tea for myself and my entourage (two sisters and mother). The space was cozy, well lit, earthy, modern and elegant. I had Giselle full attention during my appointment. She began by informing us about her business and the collections she carried. The gowns come from various international designers, of which she has exclusive access. Her select collection of gowns are unique, beautiful and thoughtfully chosen. Representing more of a gourmet tasting then a smorgasbord feast. Giselle was a welcome respite to the parade of bridal shops I had experienced. She offered personalized attention demonstrating genuine joy for her work. Instead of feeling tolerated by bedraggled employees of larger shops, my experience was one of "playing dress ups" that I remembered as a little girl. Giselle assisted in accessorizing silk gowns with gold crowns, back necklaces, sheer jackets, dramatic lace veils, etc.. She focused on every last detail to help me envision how I would look and feel the day of my wedding. Her professional demeanor was in perfect balance with the relaxed and fun atmosphere.
