A convenient location it's very easy to find as it sits on the corner of a strip mall facing oncoming traffic. It's a small but mighty place full of energy. You are greeted by a very nice receptionist who seems like she never has a bad day! Backtracking slightly, this is part of a chain so you go through a system to get your appointment. The app is a little clumsy to use in the beginning. Like most healthcare these days you feel like a number. But once you get in the very capable hands of your physical therapist (mine was Norma) you're given a great assessment. In fact Norma really impressed me as she paid great attention to detail, was on top of everything going on around her and balanced multiple clients along with her technician. She never missed a beat! She even brings the fun with themed activities. It seems like a tight knit family. I have a feeling the technician who worked with me after Norma may have been in training as the same attention to detail was not quite maintained. The great news is I recovered quickly from my injury and didn't need to use all the visits I was eligible for. Happy to be back on my feet and pain free. read more

Usually don't give negative reviews it I believe this place deserves one. 1. Their customer service is a joke 2. They do not enforce COVID laws like mask wearing for example. I saw an employee wearing his mask under his nose once. I also saw sever patients not wearing their mask properly or not wearing it at all at times. The owner asked one of the clients to put her mask on properly, and the client fought back excuses. She continued to not wear a mask and they still continued to work with her and allowed her to be there. 3. You never ever get 1 on 1 attention. They just show you the technique a few times and then move on to their other 2-3 clients they have scheduled at the same time. read more

I have been having tons of knee issues after my knee replacement but since I have started my therapy with Carly and Alex my mobility, strength and flexibility has improved significantly from 100 degrees to 130 in a few weeks. I was skeptical about getting better because the last therapy place I was at didn't help at all. I am very grateful I met these two therapist they are both amazing. The office staff is amazing also. Today I had my first full day of PT after my initial visit. A PT student, Lauren, who is ready to take her state board test was my therapist. She worked under the supervision of Josiah who is the Lead PT. Lauren worked with 3 of us at one time so that could not have been easy and I would have preferred more guidance to correct my body form while exercising but understand that she did not schedule this way. She did her best under pressure and was thorough, explaining muscle use and forces affecting my body. Her responses were on target and I agreed with most of her assessments and protocols. I think with OTJ experience as with all professions, Lauren will continue to grow in her role as a PT and be a terrific asset to her company and treatment patients. This place is a Joke. They will schedule 3 people with a PT assistant at one time and just leave you there to figure out correct posture on your own. Didn't listen when you said you physically couldn't do something and then made you feel horrible for not being able to do it. Also, they never answer the phone so its super hard to schedule an appointment. I would not recommend this location. read more

Ugggg, so this place wouldn't schedule an appointment until they got paperwork from my doctor - who supposedly already sent it. I call a few days later and still no paperwork from the doctor so I have to call the doctor and tell them to send the paperwork again. This happens multiple times until finally the woman at the physical therapy place tells me "oh yeah, we got a new scheduling service and it's not working." So they made me and my doctor jump through a bunch of hoops because they can't set up scheduling right. Then they make my appointment only to cancel with me days later because they don't take my insurance even though they are contracted with the company and listed as a provider on the insurance website. Now it will be at least two weeks from when I first saw my doctor before I have a chance to see a physical therapist. Given that I needed to go here because I am in horrible pain, which is what physical therapy is for - this is total bull. read more

I don't often leave such low reviews but when I do it's because something was terrible enough to warrant it. Such is the case with Spine and Sport. I've been to many physical therapy places over the years so I am familiar with the treatment protocol and the service here was appalling on every level. I actually decided not to come back after the initial session due to the disturbing treatment I encountered here from the PT, in hindsight I should have been clued in after my encounter with the bitchy receptionist. She was really angry and bitter because I would not sign blank paperwork, it's an irrational thing to get upset about imo, I told her I would be happy to sign the paperwork after it was filled out completely but that I wasn't going to sign my name to anything that was not filled in. I'm not giving blanket permission for anything in advance without knowing what is going on the paperwork, I explained it to her three times and then I gave up because she seemed like an idiot that just expects to get her way. Once I met the PT, things got worse from there. This woman made me wait about 40 minutes past my scheduled appointment time and she was rude, unbelievably rude. She was pretending to be friendly outside in the main treatment area, but once we got into the private room (which is really described best as a walk-in closet with a therapy bed) she turned into a beast. She was incredibly rough and I was really astonished at how hard she pushed and pulled on my back. When I told her to stop she actually had the nerve to say that what she was doing was because of the lack of work with my back. Considering that they didn't have any of my records yet, how would she know anything about my back or spine? I just told her that I had multiple herniated discs and that I had had a recent surgery on my spine and she decided she would jerk my back around like a rag doll. I was in so much pain afterward that I had to go get shot up with medication by the doctor and put on bed rest, so thanks Spine and Sport, I definitely would not come back or ever recommend this place to anyone I like or don't like, because even I'm not that mean.. read more

I love spine and sport Santee!! Awesome group of people. Tom and Josiah are the best! They explain how and why to do each exercise in detail to insure the best results. The care about your health and well-being. They encourage and push you to the highest of your tolerance, and nothing more than what you can handle. The receptionist is a sweetheart too(sorry I don't remember her name) they follow all COVID guidelines and mask wearing policies, and equipment is sanitized after each use. I would absolutely recommend this place to everyone! If I ever need physical therapy again, I would request to return here. I had a knee replacement on July 2, 2015 and started physical therapy at Santee Spine & Sport a week later. I had an awesome experience with my physical therapist, Kim K. She was so friendly and encouraging; when I was having difficulty and experiencing pain she helped me through it with her expertise in physical therapy. All of the people there are so friendly and professional and made a difficult time very positive. After a total knee replacement surgery, I came to Spine & Sport. I was a bit nervous due to stiffness in my knee. The staff was very caring and understanding. My physical therapist was most helpful and I grew to like her so very much. I continued to quickly learn and discover how strong I could be with the help of my therapist. I finished my physical therapy and my Doctor was very satisfied with my results. I'm thankful for the excellent care I received while at Sport and Spine and would recommend them highly. I showed up early for my appointment since it was my first one I figured there would be paperwork to do, I signed in and sat down. there I waited over 15 minutes without even being acknowledged and yes the staff knew I was there. One guy even sat down eating his lunch just ignoring me. I finally walked out. I will be calling my insurance and my Dr office to complain and make sure they don't try to bill for anything. I absolutely love spine and sport. I have so much respect for all the employees . Especially Norma and Tom. I would mention the others but I cant remember names that well. lol . I have R.A and I just had back surgery. Without their help , I would not be getting around as well. They are so cool they keep me on my toes ,by the end of my session ,I'm sore but I feel good.. In my opinion they are the best, easy to talk to , they ask questions on where you hurt and they listen. I really love this place I'm going to miss it and all the people that work there, they have done so much for me .Oh! by the way , They keep the place very clean and sanitized , they check your temperature when you walk in and they have you wash your hands before you start your therapy and every thing is sanitized before and after you or any one else uses the machines or tables . Very disappointed. I waited 2 weeks for appointment for pain in my back. I get down there fill put tons of paperwork to find out that they dont take my insurance. Really??? I have been attending this clinic for several months dealing with a serious knee injury. I have been making great progress despite a recent setback. This clinic is prepared to work with you if you have a setback in progress. The last clinic I attended just dismissed me and said go back to your doctor. They offer personalized programs and tailor everything. I always work very hard during my appointments and appreciate their encouragement and professionalism. read more

I highly recommend this center to all. The Spine & Sport in Santee is absolutely amazing. I've been going there for about six weeks for my ruptured disc, and I must say that this center has given me my life back. I've improved tremendously and I can now live my life without constantly thinking about the pain in my back. I can play with and enjoy my children, which to me is one of the greatest things in life. And this I owe to all of the staff of Spine & Sport in Santee. Their service is above exemplary and they are beyond friendly and know all of their patients by name. I'm a caregiver & I bring my client I'm. Upon entering, the place has 5 chair to the right for waiting. Area has a table with magazines and is organized. At times it gets full But there quick to call patients back. They are good about being on time with appointments. We've came early and got in earlier then appointment time. The receptionist amber is great. Very nice & always helpful. Makes scheduling appointments easy. The facility has a mini gym feeling to it. They have a water cooler with cold water which is fantastic. Restroom is always clean and stocked with paper. One thing I've noticed it that some equipment is dusty and after patients they don't wipe down the equipment. All the therapists are nice and seem to know there job. By the time we leave my client is sweating. They ask her what her goals are and have her answer question about what she can and can't do and from there they make a plan on how to better her work out plan. Gave 4 stars because the lack of cleaning the equipment after patients use them. Overall a easy going environment & organized read more

I didn't know any better when I first started going to S&S for my shoulder problem. I thought they were fine. Not much hands on work by the empolyees. Then I noticed lots of new faces and employees that didn't seem to know much. I had to show them what I was supposed to be doing. I found a different PT office that isn't all about interns and had a much better turn out. My doctor even blasted this place. Sad...but honast. Look elsewhere for treatment!! read more
