It's unfortunate to leave this review but I have had an incredibly difficult time with billing that has now been sent to collections I literally called with my insurance company on the phone eager to pay my bill and they couldn't help me. Months ago they said they would pull my case from collections bc it had just been sent a few days before and here we are still hasn't been done. Each time I call the gentleman escalated it to someone else and still no response or additional notes on the account. At this point I may need to seek legal counsel because this is beyond ridiculous. TBH I don't even think I was treated that day my notes say I was treated by Alejandra and I was always treated by the same person- not Alejandra. Do not trust the billing dept they will give you the run around and you'll end up in collections despite having insurance!! read more

if it's possibly tha pt can be rewarding this is the place. everyone is so helpful and professional. I usually either have Eva or Mary as by therapist for my visits and they are both unbelievable. It is so to get great service in almost anywhere we go place is fantastic. I absolutely recommend Synergy Orthopedics for your Physical Therapy needs. The therapists and staff at this location are not only Professional, Knowledgeable, Kind, and Friendly, but simply GREAT at their profession. The treatment I received for my shoulder (torn rotator cuff, arthritis, other minor junk) was excellent. What happened? I entered Physical Therapy with Synergy in January of 2023 for a torn-up shoulder. (Don't try to cut down a tree if you don't have the right skill set or tools.) I won't bore you with the full diagnosis - but I couldn't wash my other armpit, blow-dry my hair, or sleep to name a few issues. The pain was pretty bad, and then really bad if I moved wrong. As a small-business owner I really wanted and needed to avoid the surgery and the downtime my orthopedic surgeon/Doc was suggesting. (He said 6 weeks in a sling with no movement. Six Weeks!!) During my initial evaluation I instantly felt that I had a new coach in my corner. I'm in my late 50's now so I no longer "play" at sports, but once an athlete always an athletic-minded person, right? During the evaluation appointment my therapist Eva explained my MRI to me and I gained much more understanding of the injuries. Then, together, we set goals to build strength, increase flexibility, reduce pain, and possibly AVOID surgery! There are multiple Physical Therapists at this location as well as PT Assistants. Most of the time my appointments were with Eva - but I've also had excellent sessions with Manager and Therapist Amy, Therapist Mary, and lots of help from the assistants including but not limited to Kensington and Arvrin. The open-layout of the therapy room provides a real sense of community and a sort of "we are all in this together" atmosphere. It was a great fit for me. Each session is planned out - and there's a team approach to wellness that is pervasive. A typical therapy session included exercises to increase mobility and strength. Some sessions included soft tissue work (nothing soft about soft tissue work!) and lots of stretching. Soft tissue work is sort of like a not-nice massage. But every single time Eva or Amy or Mary worked on skin, muscle, fascia, tendons, and ligaments I left the appointment with less pain and more mobility than the day before. I chose to have appointments 2 times per week and then I was instructed to do the same exercises at home 3-4 times per week. I have graduated from shoulder physical therapy. No surgery for me! At the time of this writing, approximately 8 months later, I have full range of motion back in my shoulder. I do not have any pain and I am able to accomplish all my tasks and chores without having to ask for assistance. I can sleep on either side without issue. I do not have any limitations attributable to my shoulder injury. Thanks Synergy! I will have an improved quality of life thanks to your help! For anyone nervous or scared of the whole physical therapy process this is the place for you. The staff here are simply put, wonderful people. The seem to generally care for your well-being and want to figure out what works best for you. My previous experiences with doctors or physical therapist have been less then pleasant. That was not the case here. I would dread going into appointments for these things. But I was always ready and willing to go in for my appointments here. And thanks to them, hopefully I wont be too nervous or scared to seek treatment again if and when its necessary. Thank you again everyone at La Mesa Synergy. read more

This place was not for me! There was no respect for patient privacy. They were asking me personal questions within arms length of other patients. No private area for consultation/triage. I felt extremely uncomfortable. Everyone is super crammed in one room. It's very loud and you can hear staff & client conversations. Just annoying. There are other physical therapists in La Mesa with private areas, that are not packed with clients, which we need during Covid. Sadly, this wasn't the spot. read more

Do not come to this business, this place is a crook and a thief. I didn't attend two of their session because I have some prior business, yet they still charge me and my insurance for work that they did not perform. I have attend some of their session, and it's not a one-on-one session. Their specialist will not spend 100% of their time with you even though your insurance and your copay is paying for the session, they will have multiple clients at the same time. This is a total fraud. I came for shoulder and the treatment was horrible. I didn't get any benefit from these session at all, I rather do it myself. If you have chronic pain I wouldn't suggest this place look on google or self care will be better. I call their business, their associate not only not helpful but hung up on me after I address the issue and that I request a refund on the charge. This place business model is all wrong, do not come here go elsewhere. read more

just now Malicious billing Do not go here. These people will lie to your face and screw you over. Three years ago I attended three sessions after agreeing to a specific price up front. This was important to me and something I took care of before anything else as I had bad insurance. I paid my co-pays and everything seemed in order. A year after my final appointment I received a final notice in the mail that I had an unpaid bill and that I was going to be sent to collections. I received no bills or notices prior to this letter. I called synergy orthopedics and explained that I had agreed to a specific price up front, had paid all my bills, and was told that it was a mistake and I was being taken care of. I received no further notices (over a other full year of silence) until yesterday when a 500$ collections bill arrives at my door. I was completely blindsided at every turn by this company for reasons I can only assume are malice or gross incompetence. They lied to me at absolutely every opportunity that had a chance of screwing me over financially. I am 500$ poorer today and the intent of my review is to stop anyone else from being in my situation. If you absolutely must attend an appointment here get every word of agreement in writing. read more

I came from another physical therapy clinic and had lost hope, as my healing process for my injured ankle was reverting slowly. I was hearing the term "new norm," and as an active 38 year old, I was less than thrilled. My doctor sent me to this PT clinic as a last hope to avoid risky surgery, and I found out quickly that they really know what they're doing. I have recovered completly, and now realize that not all PT places are equal. I wish I discovered them first. I had been going to PT at Synergy for about 5 months this year recovering from a shoulder surgery. I had been referred specifically to this location to see a lady named AMY by my surgeon, who is the only surgeon I trust after multiple operations. I have been to many different physical therapy locations over the years, including different states and have mostly been unsatisfied and my body no where near 100% after completing PT. For 5 months I worked exclusively with LAICEE who is awesome!! My shoulder has never felt stronger, my upper body has never felt this stable. I had my opposite shoulder done years ago and saw a different PT clinic and still struggled with strength/scar tissue build up until coming to Synergy. This location and the people here are hands down the best! I got the chance to work/interact with Amy as well and she is excellent, extremely professional and personable. I won't go to any other PT location as long as LAICEE and AMY are here, the best clinic with the best therapists. MARY is also in this location a couple of days a week and is great as well. Their pt assistant Danette is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The girls at the front desk Jenny and Autumn are nice. All around, the entire team is great and I would trust no other therapists to aid me in my recovery. I will continue to recommend everyone I know to this location to see either Laicee or Amy, and any additional injuries I sustain I will be only coming here. read more
