I have tried this cafe three times. Today is my last. During my other visits the service was mediocre and the food was okay. This morning both were bad. I ordered the Bacon and cheese Eggs Benedict with home fries. The home fries are just mushy potatoes. The bacon was undercooked and the eggs were very small and undercooked also. The cheese was cold and not melted. The server tried to remove the undercooked bacon from my plate and suggested I eat the rest. I asked for the meal to be taken off the check and that's it. After a little back and forth she agreed. The owner was present and never came over. I really have nothing positive to say about this visit. read more

Average at best. Not a super friendly staff. Eggs Benedict was ok - not home make sauce, soggy English muffin, lunch meat ham. Home fries were way over done. Crab cakes claim to be homemade but were gray and small. Other tables around us had pancakes and they looked good but who knows. If you're hungry it might be an ok stop. read more

We've been here several times for breakfast and lunch. The food is always good. The staff is always friendly and efficient. Food is delivered quickly. Just stopped by yesterday for breakfast around 8 am. We ordered and had our breakfast made to order. In a few minutes our food was delivered to our table. This was my boyfriend and I's first time coming here. We checked the reviews and were excited and optimistic. We walked in and as first timers, it wasn't very welcoming. They told us to go to the other room so we did, then a lady said to sit any where. My hopes were still high the place seemed like a cute little local spot in town. My boyfriend ordered a sweet tea no ice, I order a water. Neither of them had ice my water was warm. Thats the least of the problem, still looking past all of that, we put our orders in and it came out really fast!!!!! Super fast!!!!! I got the hash benedict, super mushy from a can, not my thing should've gotten the original Benedict. It was bland and mushy. Now lets talk about the home fries, took one bite and found a giant hair cooked into the potatoes!!! That was the last straw, I didn't want to make a scene so I patiently waited for the server to come back around, but she never did.... I got the attention of another server who took my plate and came back and asked if I wanted my money back or it remade. At this point my boyfriend finished his meal so I was just ready to go. Bummed is an understatement. Food didn't take long but I would rather have waited an extra 5-10 minutes for decent food than have it come out super fast and terrible. Crispy bacon was beyond burned. Both mine and my sisters eggs Benedict were so terrible that we had to send them back. Eggs were basically hard boiled tiny little things and English muffin was super burnt. To start, the sweet tea tasted like water with A drop of honey in it [whoever made it without sugar needs to be hanged]. Now to the "service"........that was an embarrassment to humanity. I'm a local. Years ago this cafe was great. Recently not so much. I have given them three tries recently. Every time the service was terrible. Today both the food and service was unacceptable. Toast was just bread with a bit of butter in the middle served with one small jelly packet and no choice of flavor. I ordered a pancake on the side for $2.50. It was small and undercooked. Ice tea was just water. Home fries are boiled potatoes just barely heated. The owner was there but never came over to the table to make it right. The server had an attitude and acted like she was doing me a favor. Only busy because its a captive audience. read more

Our favorite place for breakfast. Menu has something for everyone. Have also been in for lunch or dinner occasionally. Food is always good but place can get a little hectic at times. Inexpensive traditional diner. Don't come here expecting outstanding service however. Have been here twice hoping for a better experience but no improvement. Asked for over- medium eggs and they came out with runny whites. I sent them back to the kitchen asking to have them cooked more and they came back once again with runny whites. If your in the Englewood area of Florida, this is a great place to stop for a satisfying breakfast. The staff are really friendly and the restaurant is impeccably clean. The menu is filled with traditional eats. Our table ordered Sausage and Biscuits with hash, eggs benedict with bacon and grits, vegetable omelet with grits, and French toast. With the exception of the French toast our meals were cooked perfectly to order, great tasting, and comforting portions. I didn't have the French toast but my friend told me it could have been cooked more. I was surprised to find a bakery counter filled with in house made sweets like oversized éclairs, cannoli's, cakes, etc. A good fix for a northeast sweet tooth like mine! read more

We have been to Spinnakers twice for breakfast since we moved here in October of 15. Both times the food was pretty good, but the service was horrible. No one seemed to know who had our table and it took forever to even get drinks. Once our food finally arrived, that was the last time our waitress or anyone ever came close to our table. Waitresses were leaning behind the counter on their cell phones totally ignoring their customers. Finally flagged down someone to get a refill on coffee after our cups had been empty for over 30 minutes. A very cozy, classic diner with an old fashioned atmosphere. It was very comfortable and homey. The country fried steak was the most flavorful I've ever had (and that's my favorite dish so I have it everywhere I go). The home fries were perfectly crisp - not too much. Tried some of my daughter's mashed potatoes, which were also extremely flavorful. My boyfriend just short of licked his plate clean of the philly steak and cheese he had.
