What lead me here: So I have passed this pizza place a couple times in the last few months and didn't really think of it. I don't go out of my way for pizza, though in the last couple of weeks some craving came over me probably influenced by visiting Home Slice in Austin. So one night I ordered from Papa Johns on the phone around 9 or so and I knew they would close at 11. They recommended that it was probably good for pickup in 30 minutes which is standard for a pizza place. They did not call me when it was ready and it was getting close to closing time so I just moseyed over, a girl unlocked the door for me, I paid, and gave her a $2 tip in front of her manager who did not apologize or say anything about not calling me up to let me know about the order. So after that experience I said I'd look for something different locally. I've been to Pie Society and though it looks pretty inside and out, the owner Benji and his behavior of sexual harassment toward hisworkers really turns me off. And this isn't unexpected because he does the same as the manager of Zelicks and takes advantage of a drunk girl or two. I've been victim to him coming on to me really strong. So yeah, I don't feel like supporting that. I'm here now: I do a quick sweep on Yelp, and my fellow yelpers have pointed me in a good direction again. This place is 6 months old, kinda a sweets bakery, has the standard pizza fare excluding a buffet or anything like that but has something unique in ownership, the owner is female. Her name is Paulette. So if I recall she mentioned being from the Northeast and that she made certain kinds of pizzas and she enjoyed making them from scratch. I met her as I was coming in to pick up my order. I actually got a call from the cashier that my order had been ready and came down. Paulette jumped up from a booth, gave me that background I mentioned earlier, and even gave me some red velvet and german chocolate cupcakes to try (damn good and moist). The cashier people have been talking about in their reviews really is nonplussed I will give people that. Like if not for Paulette's customer service and a great Alfredo Chicken Pizza I may not have considered returning. So long after getting my Hamburger and Alfredo Chicken Pizza I have this to say. The Alf Chicken stole my heart! I really didn't think I could get past the thin crust on these pizzas but the crust is still a good texture and not a cracker crisp. The Hamburger disappointed a bit. I was most stoked for that pizza but it's base is mustard and it's topped with dill pickles, that combo after 3 slices became kinda vinegary in taste. I had to take a few pickles off. Other than that, it was a decent pizza with a tweek. The red onions and bacon were great on it. As for the ingredients I didn't taste the gumminess that can come with some doughs nor a freezer taste in the meats and veggies so I recommend this place. It has no pretense. It's not aiming to be "artisan." I am glad it takes advantage of being off the square and being open later and I hope it thrives. read more

Delivery was late. The veggie was ok, nothing SPECIAL.... But the margarita, what waste of my money. 1. Diced tomatoes (crappy no flavor tomatoes). 2. Great new local business!! I went in and picked up a menu a week ago, just to have incase I got curious...That day the owner offered me a slice of a calzone she had made for herself. I am not a calzone fan , but I thoiught it was delicious. Today we picked up one for my son and the other for my husband to have for lunch tomorrow. All I can say is BRAVO to Spinners! read more

In short: bland, boring, overpriced pizza. We got the chicken Alfredo pizza, Italian supreme pizza, and cheese sticks. Chicken Alfredo pizza: I read great reviews for this pizza but I don't know why. It had no flavor and the chicken was dry. Italian supreme pizza: I didn't try this but my boyfriend did. He said it wasn't that great but it had more flavor than the chicken Alfredo pizza. Cheese sticks: This was the only good thing and even these were all right. They were extremely greasy and dripped of oil. Also, the ranch was absolutely disgusting. There is not much more to say other than meh. It was far from spectacular, over priced, and the only reason it gets 4 stars is the friendly staff. If it was a few bucks cheaper I'd come back because that price would match the quality. Awesome place in an awesome location! Their hours are awesome and its perfect for a pizza right after a good time on the Square. The owner is an awesome lady that cares for everyone that walks in the door. I have ordered their pizzas, burgers, and calzones and they surprise me every time. The food is so fresh and sticks out compared to the other competing pizza joints. You can't find calzones anywhere else but here. Highly recommend if you want good tasting pizza. read more

Very disappointed. The customer service was beyond terrible. Worst my husband and I have ever had. Very long wait time to get your food. Pizza wasn't terrible but wasn't great either. The cheese sticks were overcooked and literally dripping in oil. We had to wait 10 minutes for them to pour us two fountain drinks and when our food finally came out, guess what? No napkins! Yikes! I just brought a calzone home that was ordered with double pepperoni and green peppers. The filling was 80% cheese with a absurdly thin layer of pepperoni and did in fact contain green peppers. Although it was cooked well, the lack of "toppings" as ordered and the interior of the establishment will prevent me from ordering here again. read more

AWESOME customer service. I ordered a pizza for delivery and when it was slightly over the expected time, they called me and let me know they were having technical difficulties and gave me my order for free. Only three stars...I walked in and the cashier was sitting at a table with headphones on and was not able to do basic math...food is good...would recommend it...but it does take a long time to get your food. I go in on my hour lunch and it takes about 30 mins to get food...fries are good...all around good food but service...not so much...sometimes it is nice to go somewhere and see a smile. I am giving it a one star, based on horrible customer service. I called to order a pizza and mentioned I was a new customer and the online website said new customers get 10% off. She didn't know what I was talking about and went to ask the owner who told her only for dine in customers. I explained the owner needed to update her website because no where on that page did it stipulate you had to dine in to receive the discount. She further stated I would be charged a delivery fee based on my location. WTF... shouldn't it be a standard rate for the San Marcos area... duh... I don't mind paying one but like other places it should be one rate regardless of the area in San Marcos, she wasn't very friendly and didn't seem to concerned about customer service. She told me a 12:55 delivery time which is way over an hour from when I placed the order... I called back to double check on the order because of my work I am in and out of the office and the boy was rude. I asked him if it was made yet and he said they were working on it and I asked if it would be out by 12:55 and he was rude in his responses. I said you know what cancel my order! You are rude and I will take my business elsewhere and do not charge my credit card and he said ok so I hung up. Then a few minutes later the owner calls me at work asking what the problem was. Very confrontational and insincere... When I mentioned the rudeness she was all about excuses... well I didn't make the website (in regards to the 10% discount)... he told you it was in the oven... she is not the best employee but she shows up for work everyday when others don't, my son is only 16 and other kids his age sound that way... I'm not happy with them but I will talk to them... what do you want from me... She told me my order was ready and would give me the discount if it made me happy... I said no thank you and hung up. I am sorry but customer service is huge to me and as a first time impression this was not the place to go to... when I mentioned the reviews on yelp she claims all the negative reviews are from ex employees... but based on my experience they are correct. read more
