Beautiful patio and indoor seating areas along with a cute shop make this place a go-to if you are visiting Popham beach or the fort. Food was great. We had the Po Boy Gone Fishing and the fried scallops basket. Both were great, with the scallops very tender and tasty and the Po Boy breading and bread outstanding. Wonderful service and lovely views round out a great experience. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

First time in Maine, and we're walking along Kennebeck River (sorry, if I misspelled it). Went to the Fort Popham - which was so cool and stopped for a cocktail and appetizers at Spinneys! Had a Maine Tai and a Maine Mojito and of course a half dozen oysters! Life is perfect! We sat outside and watched the fog roll in. What a day! The wait staff was so welcoming, and just made the experience top notch!

I love Spinney's. I've been coming to this spot since I was about 8. Would have been earlier except I lived on the west coast most of my formative years. I have about 6 or 7 generations of family history in Bath. Spinney's is restful, a beautiful place to relax and view the grand Kennebec Rivers entrance to the magnificent Atlantic Ocean. It has gone through a few owners during my experience. The current and relatively new owners (2021?) are doing well. They modernized the bar area (see picture). I kind of liked the old one, but it's pretty. The food this summer was great during my first visit. My second visit, I had issue with my lobster roll. It was remedied with quickly, the new owner came out s d spoke with us. I was very satisfied with their response. The first visit of the summer we had a party of 13. We were accommodated professionally and on short notice. We had excellent food and service. I had a lobster roll during this visit and it was delicious and plentiful! Everyone went away filled, pleased and relaxed. My second visit was with a sister, we had a lovely and equivalent experience, sans the lobster roll. They did confirm there was a problem and they created a new batch and offered a replacement for me. Courtesy of the owner making a table side visit. I will coming back , a favorite of mine every year!

Glad we stopped by this local spot. Best service we had thus far during our two week Maine coastal trip, from timely food to tasty cocktails. You have your choice of seating outside by the beach or indoors. Lots of choices of seating. Friendly staff. Started with lobster bisque with chunks of lobster on top. DELICIOUS. Our entree photos are posted, and you can see Tuna is Seared perfectly. Haddock Sandwich tasty with spicy mayo and Cole slaw. Solid fries. Leave room for the homemade Maine Blueberries pie with ice cream. Wow! We are coming back tomorrow! Came back next day and got the best chicken wings and Greek salad with blackened Haddock. Left room for home made mixed berry pie!

We were torn trying to decide where to eat for lunch. Tried Spinneys after change of ownership. Happy to say all three of our meals were great! Julian was an excellent server, guiding us through the menu. Top of the list was the Lobster BLT-- "Best BLT I've ever had!" Next best was the Seared Ahi Tuna sandwich. The combination of tuna topped with the seaweed salad was delicious. Finally-- Fish and Chips. A nice version of a classic. The pieces of haddock were thick and tender with a crunchy coating almost like fried chicken. All three meals came with fries which we all enjoyed-- so crispy, maybe double-fried? For dessert we had the blueberry pie a la mode, which was good. We sat on the outside patio on a picnic table right on the beach. Lovely!

Excellent service. I got the Popham Beach mocktail and it was very tasty and refreshing. The fried chicken sandwich was FIRE and came out quickly. Great location and great food! Definitely recommend checking it out.

Just love this place while you're in the area. It's on the water next to a historic site. Great views, the inside is very cool with the blue bar lights, the exposed rafters, and the live lobster tanks. While I was eyeing up the tanks the owner came over explained to me about the anatomy of a lobster and how they operate. She and Gavin, our server, are super nice. I doubled down on the lobster. Ordered the lobster bisque which had tons of lobster meat chunks floating on the top. The lobster roll had a ton of meat inside of the bun. The food was good and I'd definitely come back when staying at Hermit Island Campground. Till next time......

So our dinner stop before heading to Boothbay was Five Islands Lobster. We arrived around 4pm, just before a dinner rush. Parking is tight, but you make do. I was able to find a spot to accommodate my care and the small packing trailer on the hitch. Once we were parked we made our way to the buildings. The one building you order your lobster, another building you order other items. It was a very easy and simple process. Between all of us there was so much lobster and other fine dining options. The lobster was fresh and sweet. It was very delicious. The lobster came with corn and potatoes. The butter was perfect! It had that foaming too I love! My husband enjoyed his fried haddock sandwich and the fried scallops. He raved about the fried scallops. The staff were great. They were kind, helpful and hard working. The view was stunning. I saw a loon and was able to adventure on the rocks during low tide. Overall this was a beautiful spot to start our Maine vacation. I highly recommend checking out Five Islands Lobster

We ordered 2 2lb lobsters, onion rings, and fried oysters. The lobster meat came right out of the shell (shout out to some man on the dock who helped us Marylanders with some verbal direction) and were full and flavorful! We are big crab eaters but it takes about 6 or more XL crabs to feel as full as we did with one lobster! The onion rings and oysters were perfectly fried and just as delicious. The oysters came with fries (which explains the ketchup) as well and all were large portions. It was the perfect location too! Not noisy, beautiful scenery, and just all around a great atmosphere.

From the second we walked in this felt like a one of a kind experience. The table was set beautifully, Virginia and her team were so welcoming, and she is so incredibly knowledgeable. After the oyster tasting we enjoyed a lobster roll and then hopped on Captain Joe's boat for a tour of an oyster farm and a ride around this beautiful midcoast area. Timing of the tides worked out so that we got to see a bunch of seals. Captain Joe also helped us shuck some oysters while we enjoyed delicious rum punch cocktails he whipped up on the boat. We ended the tour with a beautiful sunset before heading back to the dock. Since moving to Maine seven years ago, it seems like during summertime, all the classic destinations have become so overrun with tourists and certain activities and places that are my go-tos have lost a bit of their charm. I think that's what I loved so much about Lady Oyster. Located in a tiny little peninsula village called West Point, it is off the beaten path, and almost feels like stepping back in time. I would 10/10 recommend Lady Oyster to anyone looking for a true hidden Maine gem. I hope to come back this winter for one of her dinners!

Everything from the food to the service was not just disappointing, it was offensive. They close at 4, we got there at 3:30 and were rushed the entire time. We ate outside. We asked for umbrellas for the picnic tables but they wouldn't provide them because they had already put them away as part of their closing chores. The teenagers were pushy about collecting our trays and were clearly motivated to leave by 4:00. The scallops were disappointing. They were flavorless and tough. The real reason for this review though was Anna herself. I'm still in shock at the way we were treated. She inappropriately yelled at my child for climbing on some maritime object. She embarrassed her and crushed her in front of everyone. It's a greasy spoon, family friendly restaurant with open fields where kids play. Kids make mistakes. And we tell our kids when they're making mistakes. But if an owner has items so precious to her, she could put up signs, fence things off, or just not leave them out in the open. She also could communicate her needs to people, including children, respectfully. But she didn't. I spoke with Anna privately at the end of the night saying she didn't have to scorn my child. She could have spoken to me or communicated without shaming her but she double-downed on her offensiveness, aggressively continuing to insult my child to my face. She behaved as if she was looking for a fight and needed a target to unleash her aggression on. In any event, as long as Anna is running Anna's restaurant, we will never return and I told her that. I don't think she will mind, she seemed to not want our business from the moment we got out of our cars today. I've just never experienced such ugly behavior before. She should be ashamed of herself. Maybe she's unwell and needs emotional and mental support. Tonight I'll pray that God gives her some grace and hopefully she can find some peace so she won't have to take out her aggression on her guests' children.

My husband enjoyed the Margarita but i think it was a bit too sweet for him to have more than one. We shared some appetizers including the Cauliflower Ceviche, which was a bit spicy for me but enjoyed by the rest of the table and then some BBQ Pub chips which had a yummy blue cheese sauce drizzled over them. For entrees our group had Fish n Chips (the fish was seasoned so well), Baked Scallops, Stuffed Mushroom, and the Spicy Mussels.
