The view and cocktails were fabulous!
    Ed F.

The building, the views, the ambience of the inside of the restaurant and the wine and cocktails were all excellent. The dinner on the other hand was poor to very poor on both my Hangar Steak dinner and my wife's Cabbage dinner. I sent my dinner back after the first bite because it had a very strong vinegar taste and smell. My dinner partners agreed. I was first told by the waitress that the chef said it's pre-brined and there's nothing they can do. I asked the owner Carlos if that was going to stand. He went away and came back after some time and said I can give you a hanger steak with no sauce. How could that be if it was pre-brined? He said that's one of my favorite meals. By that time, my wife and our friends were finished with dinner and the wine was gone. The fact that the owner did not offer to comp my inedible meal causes me to give a very poor recommendation. Each year we have visited the blue while at Five Islands and know Carlos by name. We will not be returning. Why would any owner lose a returning customer over the cost of a hanger steak?

Love this spot and so excited to experience 2025 with new chef and great service! Delish cod and salmon. Cocktails are great and whatever have explored on the new wine list we like! Back again next weekend!

We stayed here and also got dinner one of the nights. The food was fabulous. Loved the mussels.

Fabulous restaurant with talented Chef.(Chef with a Capital C).We have dined in NY City,Paris,Rome, San Francisco and this Chef is as good as any. Almost everyone arrives early so they can sit on the wrap around porch and look out at the Atlantic with a glass of wine. We shared appetizers of Crab fritters with lime tarragon aioli, and Scallops on a thick slab of oven roasted bacon. We both had the oven roasted fish, excellent. For desert we had wine and sherry. We ate here last year also and at the time we stayed at Grey Havens. This time we visited and we are definitely returning later this summer. We dined on a Sunday night in May and the restaurant was full.

What can I say but wow! Lovely room with an incomparable view topped by delicious food. Every bite from the chowder, beet salad, and lamb to the blueberry crisp was a delight...and it doesn't hurt that they have a top notch bar! The Grey Havens Inn is a treasure. We enjoyed every moment.

We stayed at Grey Havens and also had an amazing dinner. It was pretty expensive but definitely worth it. Wines are very good and affordable though. Chef and owners are very welcoming and food is simply amazing. My wife had broiled haddock- super fresh. My salmon was a culinary masterpiece. I would recommend this place to everyone. And the view - amazing!

So our dinner stop before heading to Boothbay was Five Islands Lobster. We arrived around 4pm, just before a dinner rush. Parking is tight, but you make do. I was able to find a spot to accommodate my care and the small packing trailer on the hitch. Once we were parked we made our way to the buildings. The one building you order your lobster, another building you order other items. It was a very easy and simple process. Between all of us there was so much lobster and other fine dining options. The lobster was fresh and sweet. It was very delicious. The lobster came with corn and potatoes. The butter was perfect! It had that foaming too I love! My husband enjoyed his fried haddock sandwich and the fried scallops. He raved about the fried scallops. The staff were great. They were kind, helpful and hard working. The view was stunning. I saw a loon and was able to adventure on the rocks during low tide. Overall this was a beautiful spot to start our Maine vacation. I highly recommend checking out Five Islands Lobster

We ordered 2 2lb lobsters, onion rings, and fried oysters. The lobster meat came right out of the shell (shout out to some man on the dock who helped us Marylanders with some verbal direction) and were full and flavorful! We are big crab eaters but it takes about 6 or more XL crabs to feel as full as we did with one lobster! The onion rings and oysters were perfectly fried and just as delicious. The oysters came with fries (which explains the ketchup) as well and all were large portions. It was the perfect location too! Not noisy, beautiful scenery, and just all around a great atmosphere.

Unfortunately, this time I was met by a very unfriendly hostess ( and I remembered her being very unfriendly to customers last time I was here!) when I tried to order something to go for my husband , while I would dine , she said I couldn't do that. She informed me that I couldn't get anything to go because there's only one cook . So I said that was fine , I'll just dine here and take the rest boxed up when I'm ready. She still said no!? Then the waiters and waitresses recognized me as a regular and greeted me ! It certainly wasn't what I was expecting as I just landed from two very long flights to get here and literally put my suitcases down and came straight to Cozy's !!!! I ended up coming in and sitting outside to eat . My waiter assured me I could get a box for whatever food I didn't finish . We just landed back for the month of July after being here in May and June! We ate here once or twice a week and always recommended to our cousins and friends and people who are new to town ! I do recall our last meal here be fore we left at the end of June , this same hostess ( brunette wit hair up ) being very rude to customers then, as well. Mike and Andre and the waitresses and young bus boys are all so friendly and our family has been coming here for generations! It's a shame that this one person is ruining the vibe.. Unfortunately, I will think twice before wanting to come here again. * If you're looking for food recommendations, I don't think you can go wrong with anything , but the fish tacos are my favorite and I order them every single time I'm here! My husband loves the street dogs and if you're a Chicago Cubs fan, you'll understand why! They taste just like a Chicago dog at Wrigley Field! We've had the burgers here too, and they are very good. The Berry salad is delicious , if you're going for something healthier and you can always add a protein .We love adding blackened scallops to it ! if you do choose to dine here , hopefully that ride hostess will have moved on.

I was already in a foul mood, walking in here set me into straight sensory overload. It's a bar where they sing. I am unable to get inebriated enough to enjoy bars where they sing any longer. Call me miserable, maybe I suppose. In addition to the merry old fella belting it out on the mic, we had the joy of having some drunk guy in a large group behind us try and out sing him without a microphone. He even challenged the old guy singing to a form of a duel. Anyway I was so off, I cannot remember anything about my server at all. Nothing. I do remember almost screaming and running out. I sat there trying not to lose it while my wife had the time of her life. Every song made it worse, everyone else is singing, I am dying. When the guy took a break, guess what, dickhead from the crowd goes up and takes over. Shots helped at this point and the weed is kicking in well at this point. Now I'm hungry... My food was inedible and I'm pretty sure incomplete as well. The worst flatbread in the history of flatbreads. C's looked pretty good actually so I am sure her experience was quite different than mine. I hope to never return. '25 - extra

The Lawnmere seemed like a good idea on the menu, but oddly it lacked flavor. I had high hopes for this flatbread. I feel like we missed a mark here. The crust was great. My key lime pie was delicious. The coconut really added to the dish. My son devoured his pub burger and had no complaints. My husband said his calamari and fish tacos were ok. The heirloom tomato salad was the best. The arugula has a nice taste to it along with the layer of ricotta cheese under it all. The flavors really blended well with this dish. Everything from the food to the service was not just disappointing, it was offensive. They close at 4, we got there at 3:30 and were rushed the entire time. We ate outside. We asked for umbrellas for the picnic tables but they wouldn't provide them because they had already put them away as part of their closing chores. The teenagers were pushy about collecting our trays and were clearly motivated to leave by 4:00. The scallops were disappointing. They were flavorless and tough. The real reason for this review though was Anna herself. I'm still in shock at the way we were treated. She inappropriately yelled at my child for climbing on some maritime object. She embarrassed her and crushed her in front of everyone. It's a greasy spoon, family friendly restaurant with open fields where kids play. Kids make mistakes. And we tell our kids when they're making mistakes. But if an owner has items so precious to her, she could put up signs, fence things off, or just not leave them out in the open. She also could communicate her needs to people, including children, respectfully. But she didn't. I spoke with Anna privately at the end of the night saying she didn't have to scorn my child. She could have spoken to me or communicated without shaming her but she double-downed on her offensiveness, aggressively continuing to insult my child to my face. She behaved as if she was looking for a fight and needed a target to unleash her aggression on. In any event, as long as Anna is running Anna's restaurant, we will never return and I told her that. I don't think she will mind, she seemed to not want our business from the moment we got out of our cars today. I've just never experienced such ugly behavior before. She should be ashamed of herself. Maybe she's unwell and needs emotional and mental support. Tonight I'll pray that God gives her some grace and hopefully she can find some peace so she won't have to take out her aggression on her guests' children.
