Located in the old Toys R Us building, Spirit has operated in this location for several years now. Pearlridge does not seem able to find anyone to occupy the space. The building has seen better days, it looks like without Spirit coming every Halloween, the building looks like it is left abandoned. Overall, Spirit has a lot and I mean a lot of merchandise. Though it looks like it operate 75% of the former floor space. Everything is fairly pricey, you might fair better with Walmart or Amazon. I didn't buy anything but you might find some deals if you look hard enough. Everything I saw for an adult cost 40-80 dollars. It could be worth a trip, especially if you have young children who likes to look at the displays. Also FYI, the door does not open unless you are right up to the door and I mean really close. They put up a sign but it's hard to notice.

I don't know why this place has 2 stars. This place is amazing!!! It has everything you need for Halloween! And this place is huge! They have a wide range of sizes, with a lot in stock. I was able to buy a very important piece for my costume! Cause I couldn't even find it online. I was gonna order it from Etsy if I didn't find it here. But yay! I found it, so now i can have a Happy Halloween lol Check them out! They have a lot of spooky displays too. And a spooky aquarium, i think, but I didn't dare to go in. I was too scared, and i scream a lot and im very loud, I didn't want to scare the kids. But you guys can go in, and just tell us about it on yelp. Lol

Was on my way to TJ MAXX to pick up some neat Halloween things at Pearlridge Mall when a strange sight caught my eye...what's this??? A HALLOWEEN STORE!! It was the same Halloween store chain I had visited in California several years ago. I was glad they came to Hawaii because one of my go-to stores, Price Busters, went belly up and I was wondering where I was going to get my Halloween fix. This store was huge. All the Halloween things you could want: Costumes = rows and rows and rows of the stuff, including masks. The neatest thing I saw in this store were the Jack Skellington and Halloween-themed suits, for a pricey $160. There were a few selections of his-n-hers matching outfit sets (i.e. plug and wall outlet hubba hubba, et al.) How about some really scary, deranged clown masks? Or really, disgustipating, nasty zombie babies sewn together, a-la Human Centipede style? Yuck. No fanks. I am more of a Disney Halloween, Martha Stewart-ish type shopper. I love "classy" Halloween decorations of a more innocuous nature, such as jack o lanterns with cute faces, little black cats holding pumpkin-shaped treat bags wearing glittery, sparkly tutus and other snooky-sweet, molassesessy gooey-type generic loveliness. No zombie babies and headless clowns holding daggers for me, uh uh, no ways. Despite (me) making ugly faces and snorting at all the deranged goods in the store, I did manage to chalk up $35.00 for a bunch of non-scary things, such as cute Halloween car magnets, my favorite being one that says, "I don't brake for zombies" and shows the cartoony car smashing into a cartoony-looking zombie. I also purchased a "HEISENBERG" Breaking Bad beer can coozy for my husband's Christmas present. Also, some bags of ping pong blood-shot eyeballs that I will put on my Zombie Halloween tree (wait til you see it hehehe haahahahaaaa) - (check my personal album frequently heh heh). A bit pricey, but where in the world will you find a Jack Skellington SUIT?? Spirit Halloween is like a true quintessential ghost, it comes and promptly fades into oblivion after Halloween, never to be seen again, until next Halloween (and on a Saturday, can you imagine??)...it's going to be back, to haunt yet another empty mall-space near you.

For the past few years, this has been my go to spot for my sons costume because it is much more spaced out and organized compared to Party City. Though the prices are pretty steep for any size costume in my opinion, well at least the ones that I would want to wear.. who says you're too old to Trick or Treat! They have a ton of scary, mystical, magical, tv/movie characters and more. There is a wide variety of accessories and decor too if you want to dress up during work or decorate your office space. I found a 25% off a single item coupon in the mail last month. It was in an envelope full of other coupons that my dads house receives every so often..I'm not sure how to sign up for it but you can also check their website for a coupon. You have 8 days from the date of purchase for a refund, anytime after that until 10/31 is exchange only. A sweet girl also told me that costumes will be 50% off on Nov. 1 if you want to stock up and save for next year!

First things first, check online at spirithalloween.com if they have a 20% off a single item coupon to use. I did it today 10/28 and it worked out for my decorations. See the photo if you want it. I like this location better than the other two available for 2017. Pearlridge seems organized and it doesn't feel like it was slapped together in a bigger space than needed like the old Waikele K-mart or old Sports authority on Ward. The prices are steep which makes one want to go online or make your own. Now that there are only three days till Halloween, some may not have an option. I want to say that my experience today was so great thanks to the employee Nick. He is genuinely nice and out of all the chaos, he stayed cool and calm. He never made me feel like I was burdening him with my questions to check for animatronics (Like how I went to the Waikele one right before.) I must say he made all the difference in my experience. He would have 5 stars if I just rated my customer service.

Not sure what's her name, but she was an older Caucasian lady. They were there for about 3 hours or so and never once did I see a line to get a balloon. Probably because 1 of many reasons.... 1. I witnessed one of my nephews trying to get a balloon and he had to explain to the lady why he was getting another one. **he should not have to explain to the lady why he needs another balloon. The balloons are unlimited for 3 hours! There wasn't a line. The lady was just sitting there. 2. My friend told me that she had to help my other 5 year old nephew get a balloon because the balloon twister refused to help him since she was unable to make the balloon he wanted. She just so happened to be next to the vendor and heard her tell him to "go get your mommy". Instead of showing him the balloon folder of what she could make, she just refused to make him a balloon. My friend went over to help him pick one from the folder of pictures . **I don't understand why she couldn't just show him the balloon folder to begin with... maybe she just didn't want to deal with him. AGAIN, there was no line. ** 3. My daughter has a whole lot to say about the balloon lady. She kept saying how rude she was... In all honesty, I wasn't going to write a review about the rude balloon twister, but my daughter randomly brought it up again after 1 month. She said "remember that balloon twister lady... she said multiple times that she needs to save her balloons because she has other parties to go to"... **again, THERE WAS NEVER A LINE. She probably saved lots of balloons thanks to the fact that the host had so many vendors!!!! Save your money and go with another balloon twister! Face painter was good!

I was a little nervous that the quality of service wouldn't be up to par seeing as they were almost half the price of the competition but I wasn't let down. They arrived early to set up and immediately went to work and were cranking out balloons and face paints non stop for 2 hours and the kids kept getting back in line giving them no time to rest. They handled it like champs and I would recommend them to anyone.

You can either call or book online for a session. A "Stay and Play" session starts off with choosing a costume. There are many options to choose from - unicorn, princess, mermaid, cheerleader, etc. After changing, your child is whisked off for a makeover which includes nail painting and face painting. How fun! Kids can have a little tea party with the Storybook staff (who are also dressed up), dance to the music, and/or have a photoshoot with the props. Although both locations have different props, they are both magical in their own right. I mean, check out my pictures. The colors, the lighting ... everything just adds to the ambiance and makes a very unique and unforgettable experience for the little ones. You won't regret bringing your kid(s) here. I stumbled upon Fabric Mart near Pearlridge Center last week when we cleaned up for the New Year and dropped off donations nearby. So, I decided to check it out today. First of all, it's a HUGE space with fabrics galore!!! Lots of local, Hawaiian print material. Wall full of fancy, frilly ones. And even, solid choices of fabric for curtains and furniture! Also, they sell gorgeous 100% silk options! This place definitely could be an inspo to stir up creativity we need from time to time. Also, they sell accessories that usually come with sewing projects including patterns and zippers. Unfortunately, I did not see any sewing machines. Nor, do they offer sewing classes. This shop is not visible from the main road. Mosey on towards the back line-up of businesses including a gymnastic's school and an Asian home furnishings store. There is ample, free parking. I thought the staff working was not very friendly. Probably due to not in work mode because it's right after the long holidays. I recommend here if you are wanting a wide selection of fabric for your next craft project.

Ok so this may seem a bit unfair because there isn't another store that sells this much fabric,…read morebut, I'm rating this visit based on my daughter's happiness. First things first, this store is located in the VERY BACK of Pearlridge industrial warehouses. If you know where the dealership & GOODWILL in Pearl city is... THEN YOU'LL FIND IT! Because it's IN THE BACK THERE! You CANT MISS IT! It's next to where the old JELLY'S was. There is a lot of open parking. Restrooms, I'm not sure where or if they have one in that area opened to the public. Prices range anywhere from $2.00 to as high as $50.00 PER YARD. Depends on what type you want or looking for and if you want it by the yards or remnants. I don't know what else to say about this place other than ITS A MUST WHEN NEEDING FABRIC! But... as mentioned earlier... this post is gonna be based off my daughter's experience and outcome. I must say... they DID NOT disappoint! She had a sewing project done for school and IM SUPER PROUD OF HOW WELL SHE DID! Both her dad and I! So as you all know... they have PRETTY MUCH EVERY TYPE, COLOR, STYLE, THEME OR PATTERN OF MATERIALS, right!? So I expected her to take forever on choosing a material. But she found it in half hour and the rest was DUCK SOUP! They also had the very same color thread that matched perfectly with her fabric she chose. So that was AWESOME! AND it was the style she needed too! I didn't realize the threads were all different! Lol! ANYWHO... the teacher told them to get about 1-1/2 yards of fabric & DID state they shouldn't buy anything more than $3.00. But of course my husband had to give his princess whatever she wanted. Which wasn't much. We got her a little extra on the fabric just incase she needed it. But her final product was so BEAUTIFUL... I wish our small sewing machine worked. She wanted to make more for Christmas and pass them out or sell them at the Christmas fair. But it's ok. We'll manage. However, take a look at her project. (SEE PHOTOS) She chose a light sun yellow color fabric with local Hawaii pictures on them. The reason why she chose that specific fabric was because she wanted the HAWAIIAN FLAG that was in there. There were other nice colored fabrics with different designs too! But that was her reason for this one! If you do shop here and you don't know exactly what you're looking for, expect to stay for more than an hour. It's so HARDZ TO CHOOSE!!! If it could, I would live in here and make everything and anything! LOL!!! But they didn't have a few things on the list BUT luckily, we had it at home. I made her a ziplock bag with everything labeled and placed well in the bag. I also told her to make sure she keeps it that way so she's organized and she doesn't lose anything. She did exactly what was told and she was the 2nd or 3rd student to finish her project. This was out of ALL PERIODS too! Her teacher was amazed with her work! She asked if she could do another, but because their quarter was ending. The teacher told them no, because they're putting the machine back into storage til next years class. But I'm proud of her for making her drawstring pouch and her total bag. And it's ALL THANKS TO FABRIC MART! Okie dokes thank you for looking and have a good one guys! A hui hou MALAMA PONO ALOHA!

My hair was ruined for my birthday party, which was incredibly disappointing. On top of that, during checkout the cashier told me my total was about $579. I had only purchased the wig, a comb, and a wig holder, yet she had added a $25 hair maintenance spray without asking. While their portfolio shows talented work, their booking practices are incredibly deceptive. The Timeline: March 31st: I submitted an inquiry via their website for face painting and balloon art at their advertised rate. April 1st: After receiving no response to my initial inquiry, I followed up via text. Only then was I told the rates had jumped 50% higher less than 24 hrs from my intial inquiry. It feels like an intentional delay to avoid honoring the price that was active when I first reached out. They claimed "Spring" pricing ended on April 1st, yet there was no mention of seasonal rates or expiration dates anywhere on their site. I have inquired with the majority of local vendors for these services, and this is the only business on Oahu that uses "seasonal changes" to justify a 50% overnight increase. Additional Red Flags: The "Evidence Scrub": Immediately after I called them out via text (where they admitted to the change), they scrubbed all pricing from their website so there was no "proof" of the original website rate. The Delivery Fee: They insisted on a delivery fee for a party in Honolulu area. Given they are based in Honolulu and the equipment for these services is minimal, a $40 fee for a 5-minute drive feels like blatant "nickel and diming." Lack of Integrity: Even if their rates were reasonable, I would not do business with them because of these shady practices. It is poor business practice to change your rates the moment a customer shows interest in the advertised price. If you value cost transparency and professional integrity, I highly recommend looking elsewhere. Proceed at your own risk.
