It's spring time! And oh boy does my little backyard need a refresh. I've been to their plant store in town before, but this is more like a garden center rather than a houseplant store. I loved looking around at all the plants. As in most places in Hawai'i, if you're prone to getting bug bites (aka me), you might wanna spray on some protection or cover up. I love that they have a mix of plants, produce, and really cute products. Everything you'd need from moss poles, spray bottles, ceramic pots of all sizes. I even got a really cute plant sticker for my water bottle. read more

first time to mari's garden was at one of their big events on the weekend during the summer! They had lots of plants, vendors, farm animals and cute displays all around their farm. I think they're typically not dog friendly - but i asked prior to the event if they were allowed if they were in strollers and they said yes! i did not want to make the drive over and get turned away! However, at the event itself i saw pets walking on leashes so maybe they became flexible day of? it was too hot on a summer day so poor doggies to be walking on hot pavement. :( i kept them away from the market inside and if i saw food planted on the ground etc. the food vendors had a separate area off to the side which was really hard to get to with a stroller with all the gravel so i decided to skip it too. at the event there was barely no parking - i luckily found street parking in the housing area and walked over which took about 15 minutes i think. During the event the road is super narrow and only one car can get in and out of the housing area around mari's garden. read more

Beautiful nursery and gardens located in Mililani. We attended their fall festival where they hosted lots of different vendors. They had a mini pumpkin patch, a balloon artist, and face painting for Keiki. They sell local produce, and have beautiful garden sculptures, plants, & decor! Basically anything you need for gardening and planting. Staff are super friendly and helpful. They offer garden classes with lunch as well! I hope to attend one soon. read more

A hidden gem of a nursery tucked away in the middle of Mililani. This place is literally hidden in a neighborhood. You feel like you're lost until you literally see the sign. I've come here 2x now. The first time was for their Summer Fest where they had face painting, balloon twisters, a petting zoo, construction trucks, and pony rides! It was packed and super hot but so much fun for the little ones! We went again today for their mini pumpkin patch. It was the perfect place to walk around. They decorated for Halloween with giant spider webs with giant spiders, skeletons, a Halloween backdrop, & pumpkins of all sizes! They have their Fall Festival coming up on October 25th where they'll have local vendors, keiki activities, produce sale, & of course pumpkins for sale! read more

This botanical oasis is lovingly tended with awesome pots and fancy plants like albo monstera, a plethora of succulents for the beginner and advanced green thumbs and much much more. The staff is helpful and kind and do a great job at explaining how best to care for your plant children. There's also a nice selection of veggies both to start a garden or to eat for dinner tonight. Aside from that it is a very relaxing atmosphere to walk through and explore. For those that are more mosquito prone, wear some bug spray or a citronella sticker to keep the little bites at bay. read more

Attended a living wreath workshop today-so fun!!! All supplies are provided plus a salad for lunch, directly from the garden! Instructor was knowledgeable and gave excellent directions on how to create the wreath, everyone is so creative! Lots of plants for sale, both edible and decorative, wide range of prices, they also have cookies and cupcakes for sale! Look online for class schedule. My daughter loves succulents and I love gardens. I was looking specifically for plants that grow on water to add to my little tub pond. I came across this little business and was delighted to find that it was on my side of the island (central Oahu, Mililani.) Google maps was taking us to a suburban area and for a bit we thought this place was at someone's house. But we ventured further in and found the drive way, marked with a sign. There's a small parking lot. The first thing you see is a long dirt road, a little area where they showcase herbs, and a small retail indoor area with charming pots, plant /garden health stuff, some green produce, Knick knacks. This is where you pay for everything. We then walked to an area with small pottery,large pottery, then an area for succulents, and finally a greenhouse with all kinds of plants. They did have a few plants that grow in water, which I was happy to find. I ended up with that, a couple of bowls for mini water ponds, and white decorative rocks/pebbles. My daughter got some interesting ferns and a few succulents to add to her collection. I didn't get great photos...Staff was helpful and friendly, and although it was pretty hot, we had a really tranquil, fun and interesting adventure here and plan on coming back. This place is a hidden gem! Lots of potted plants, but I especially came here for their garden salad platter! It's such a pretty garden salad with edible flowers on it. I ordered it for Christmas dinner and everyone loved it. It comes with a very delicious turmeric dressing as well! And this is where I bought a couple of Crown flower plants several years ago that had a couple caterpillars on them. Ever since then I've been raising Monarch butterflies! Fortunate to be invited by Coda Financial to an Event at Mari's Gardens. Found they do all kinds of events. Will have to come back for some others! (Daughter says she came for a Paint Night) Clean and neat (yes, amazingly neat and clean for a plant nursery). Great instructors, kits come with everything you need. Someone goes around and helps if needed. The lunch was awesome. Micro greens with hydroponic lettuce (all so tender) and edible flowers with a delicious papaya seed dressing (which you can purchase in their store made by ? I've forgotten the name - starts with an H). Dessert was amazing cookies from Aloha Alfajores. I absolutely enjoyed making my kokedama and so happy they ensure it looks ok. Also bought pea shoots to eat, seeds to grow in their store. Really nice pots for plants. Really healthy looking plants. Had an absolutely great time. Male indvidual called me said he forgot to bring plants to Mililani location on Dec 8 and will call when its at the location, no call recieved. I came here a few weeks ago for the first time to visit the pumpkin patch with my two little boys. It is such a nice space and easy to navigate. There is a section with herbs and other areas with plants. I love how they decorated the entire garden with Halloween themed decorations! It was so fun to walk around and see all the different plants. Before you leave make sure to stop at the store in the front near the entrance which has veggies, herbs, and other items for sale. I picked up some hydroponic lettuce, cilantro, onions, and some mini pumpkins. I also bought some planted herbs to plant in my home garden. I will definitely come back to Mari's Gardens! I am so glad I learned of this amazing garden store in Mililani. I would have never come across it until it was recently recommended to me. It's nestled deep in Mililani neighborhood, but the garden is quite large. I came here looking for gifts and found the perfect items in their indoor store as well as outdoor garden. They have so many beautiful plants in their greenhouse. For example, I wanted to get a ZZ plant and they had 30+ diff pots of it! It's wonderful to be able to have such a selection. In another area, they also have all the ceramic pots where they host their classes and workshop. The prices were all very reasonable. On par with what I've found at farmers markets as well. They also offer CSA boxes of local fruits and veggies. The amazing part is you can pick up any day of week and ordering can be done online anytime. It's so flexible compared to any other fresh produce service we've found. The gift shop inside is so cute. You can really tell a lot of love went into the shop and they curated all the cutest items you could possibly find related to plants. read more

This place is adorable! I love coming here for my succulents to support local businesses. This place is a beautiful garden. If you are not looking to purchase anything, simple coming here for a walk in the garden will make you happy. This place have a variety of plants, but I mostly come here for succulents. Located in the residential area near a splash park. Parking is limited but it looks like you can park in the residential area and walk down. I was very sad when I couldn't participate in the Yelp event here. I had this place bookmarked for awhile and I finally went. Used the google map cause I would've gotten so lost! It is nestled in a suburb of Mililani. I would never have imagined this place existed. I felt like I was in a plant wonderland! So much to look at and the variety! Pots of all sizes, shapes, and colors. Both freestanding and hanging. I bought 7 little beauties too add to my garden. I had such a hard time deciding. When I finally did they packed it up beautifully so they wouldn't become damaged in transport. Also nestled in this oasis is a cute little shop. I think I started to like plants because my parents were avid gardeners. My dad was proud of planting paper bark trees, azaleas, and mondo grass. My mom grew liko lehua, ferns, and other flowers for haku lei making. My parents taught me to trim overgrown bushes, pull weeds, and talk to plants! Note: You know that plants are our friends? They filter our oxygen and help us to sleep better! Recently, I've been busy with other things, but I have noticed Rod U. checking in at Mari's Gardens. He would get fresh hydroponic veggies (to eat) from this business. I had no reason to drive to Mililani until this Virtual Yelp Event created by our Community Manager, Jessica Y. It sounded like an intriguing activity. Purchase a kit online and join the Zoom session later on December 3. Okay! I picked up my planting kit with 3 succulents, potting soil, and a bag of 4 heads of lettuce on Small Business Saturday. The kit even included a red ornament with a Yelp logo on it! So clever! Since I was at Mari's Gardens, I took a look around... Wow... This place is HUGE! There was so much... Besides live plants (herbs, flowers, ferns, hanging planters, etc.) and garden decorations, there were planters of all shapes, sizes, and colors, potting soil, and more! I finally returned to visit this lovely garden / nursery. It's a huge location in the back of Mililani residential area. Free parking in a small lot. Masks and temperature check is required when entering the Market. We bought me a little Lavender plant, Spring Mix lettuce and Radish seeds. It's a beautiful outdoor space to stroll around and shop for plants. There's so many garden supplies and commercial trees / decor to choose from. We enjoyed seeing the hydroponic set ups too. First visit to Mari's Gardens. We used Waze App to get there. To my surprise it was located in a residential neighborhood in Mililani. Free parking outside on graveled ground but limited. A little market to the right as you enter selling some of their veggies and fruits. They have a pickup area for call-ins. Mask must be worn. Hand sanitizer and temperature check required before entering into the market. Staff was friendly and helpful. They have a broad range of items from succulent plants to commercial grade trees. I enjoyed the aquaponics and hydroponics system. It's a pretty big garden (Nursery) that's hidden in the back yard of residences. We enjoyed the scenery and the atmosphere that was so soothing, comfortable, and peaceful. We will definitely be back to see more and shop more for our own garden at home. read more

Because of an upcoming Yelp event, we just learned about this place and we were all happy we did! It's not at a typical location, you have to know what you're looking for. Mari's Gardens is a plant and garden center, but also sells local produce and supplies. They have ample free parking in multiple lots. The facility is a few buildings with lots of plant areas outside under the sunshine. At the gate with the giant lucky cat, you'll find the checkout counters and entrance to the produce store. Potted plants are everywhere to look at and purchase. To the left of the entrance are rows and rows of plants: flowers, water plants, shrubs, orchids, succulents, and cacti. We each purchased some new potted friends to plant at home, plus tomatoes and vegetables for special meals. Everything here is locally grown, so prices reflect that. The staff is friendly and welcoming, feel free to ask questions or for assistance. This is definitely a fun place to stop if you're in need of supplies for your garden! read more

When I went there it was weekday around lunch time and this place was very busy. People were coming and buying plants, mostly succulents (like several at a time). Maybe because it was close to Mother's day? There were variety of succulents and cute little pots for them too. In side the store was so cute!! I don't have succulents but because pots were so cute I was tempted to buy some. Back side had a lot more plants. There were so many that I didn't know what I wanted. Oh why did I not k ow about this place? It is totally hidden in Mililani but if you know where Rec 4 is, it's right around there. Not only is this place a nursery but it also a big aquaponic/hydroponic farm. I didn't really tour the whole facility as I was short on time and just picking up my succulents kit for a virtual workshop. But from what I can see it is a huge operation. They supply their produce to a lot of local business as well as larger corporations. They support other local businesses in their market/shop. They sell a variety of home and yard plants and have such a huge variety of planters. I have seen some reviews citing them as more expensive than other places but I really don't pay much attention to the cost differences between other nursery that I have shopped at. There is limited parking and please remember it is in a neighborhood so drive slowly. read more

So, I feel badly that it took coronavirus to finally get me to patronize this place. But now I'm hooked! It had been on my list to visit for ages, then at the beginning of the pandemic, they offered curbside vegetable pickup, so I took the plunge. Now I've been back in person a bunch of times, and I'm a huge fan. Coronavirus also turned me into a plant lady, and I know I'm not alone. Turns out I can actually keep plants alive if a) I'm actually home to water them, and b) I set a reminder on my phone to water them. Just since March, I've adopted six plants from Mari's, and bought more as gifts. I had one swiss cheese plant not do so great, but I think I've been able to salvage it by cutting and rooting it in water. I probably should have bought a larger, more established one. My succulents are in great shape, as is my caladium and Chinese evergreen. They have a HUGE variety of succulents, plus loads of others - many of which are very easy-care like ZZ plants. Citrus trees, pothos, monstera, anthurium, and herbs are also common. I follow their instagram and they regularly post the new plants they have in stock. They also have potting soil and pots. They have a huge selection right after they get a pots shipment, but the cutest stuff can go fast. Even after this pandemic is finished, I'll still take advantage of their curbside produce pickup. Everything I've picked up has been excellent quality - which is super-important to me, because grocery delivery/pickup means I have to relinquish control! I want the nicest vegetables, of course, and I don't often trust a shopper to give me that. But it's never been a problem at Mari's. Produce prices are a mixed bag. Some things are exactly what you can get in a supermarket, and sometimes more spendy. But what really shines is their own produce they grow themselves. And they have a huge variety - several types of bananas, edible flowers, salad greens, cucumbers, peppers, you name it. Obviously, not everything is available all the time, but you can check online to see what is available. It is literally hidden away in a Mililani residential neighborhood, but GPS will take you right there. read more

This small owned nursery is 18 acres big! Who knew it was right in the heart of a neighborhood. The family owned business is named after Fred Lau's daughter, Mari, and is run by all the family members. They are landscapers, plant lovers, entrepreneurs and innovators! It is difficult to pick out a limited number of potted plants on my trips, there are so many to love. Air plants, cacti, ferns, succulents, hanging plants...then you need to make it through the pots, outdoor plants, water fountains and statues...not to mention all the fresh produce from many local friendly farms. The little marketplace has an automated thermometer hooked up with hand sanitizer before you enter. I love their hydroponic butter lettuce. It's picked from the grounds and is so fresh and clean! All you people posting pics of leafy greens instead of carbs, you're not eating them be healthy. Truth out, you're doing it so you don't get constipated!!! Where to find regularity with the least chance of unwanted RNA hitchhikers, support a local small business and one that farms in an eco-friendly way? Enter Mari's Gardens. Outstanding, uber fresh leafy greens grown aquaponically, ie hydroponics but using the poop of fish that swim in the water under the "fields" as natural fertilizer. Greens and produce are harvested every day to fill orders. Best part, this is a small, family run operation guaranteeing the fewest number of people have touched your produce (unlike a grocery store where dozens of customers have laid their hands on produce that will go uncooked and unsanitized other than with water). Went to a work shop and really enjoyed it. I was surprised that it was a full class, how did the others find out about these classes (I was give the class as a present from my son who knew I liked kokedamas). There was one main instructor but many assistants to help all of us make a reasonable facsimile item that could pass for a kokedama. All the items needed to make it was in front of us and only a few things were shared. Really well organized. I sat next to a woman (there were few men) who had been to other classes here and she was helpful in giving me pointers. Appreciated her. And there was a light lunch provided. Greens from their garden and dessert from La Tour. Most people (like me) took theirs home. Class over and most of us went into the store/gift shop adjacent to the class to buy items to make more kokedamas. All in all a delightful way to spend a few hours. read more
