We were shocked because there is a sign on the storefront regarding the event. It was amazing to see that this manager had no clue, despite walking past a sign every single day as she walked into work. There were about 6 checkout lines but it was ridiculously packed here. They may need to expand their store into the old Party City Storefront next door to address the customer base and needs. The only other Hobby Lobby Locations in SD County that I know of are La Mesa and Mira Mesa besides this Chula Vista location. We decided to leave and try to come back another day when it was less crowded. Overall this store had so many great things but the lines were taking 35min to 45+mins to checkout. I understand that them using a gun was going to provide tension to my skin that you didn't get when you get pierced with a needle however I didn't know they were going to use the wrong backing. I got my helix and the second lobe pierced and I can remove my 2nd lone piercing just fine but I have learned since getting pierced there that the backing they used for my helix was the incorrect kind. They used a butterfly backing which isn't supposed to be used for cartilage piercings, I had picked the same earrings for my life helix and the lady piercing my ears didn't tell me that using a butterfly backing was a bad idea. I don't know if she didn't know or if she did and didn't tell me but the other employee in there told me that they had also gotten piercings done at Claire's and it was fine. It is currently not fine because I can't remove my piercing and it isn't infected. I understand why people get pierced here however if you are planning on getting anything but your lobe done get it professionally done at a piercing place.
