Shopping felt like theater. This Dollar Tree is the opposite. There are no personal shoppers. The air smells more like household cleaners than perfume. Yet it offers something just as appealing. Every visit is a treasure hunt. You never know what you will find. Surprisingly, Dollar Tree stores are often located in middle-class neighborhoods to attract shoppers like me--people who might also shop at Saks Fifth Avenue. I imagine going to Saks in hunt for latest Bottega Veneta or Dior bag. At Dollar Tree, however, I am more of a gatherer than a hunter. It might be a $2 coffee mug, a surprisingly good kitchen knife, a pack of glue sticks, or fresh cherries. Some purchases are meant to last a week. Others are bargains that rival products costing many times more. This store used to be a 99 Cents Only store and still has the same layout. It sits in a standalone shopping center with easy parking. The shelves are usually well stocked, although finding help can take time. I loved the courtesy and professionalism of the associates at Saks. Here, I enjoy practicing Spanish with some of the bilingual associates while checking out. If you like bargains and do not mind wandering the aisles, this store is worth a visit. I call it bargain gathering. You will not leave with a luxury shopping bag, but you may leave with something even better: the satisfaction of discovering a treasure. The only mystery is how often to come. You can make this your primary store and visit weekly for groceries and everyday essentials, or you can stop by occasionally to stock up on nonperishable items. The choice is entirely yours. Either way, the joy of discovering bargains never gets old.

It seems much cleaner than the previous company which it replaced. Parking is plenty but no ev chargers closer by. Moreover, the restroom is bright and clean inside. Warning for all females using the unisex restroom, any male patrons can access to the same room while you are using the restroom. Overall use your common sense and enjoy shopping.

Imagine my surprise when I walked into a store that has every single detailed item and embellishment and tool that I could possibly need for crafting school projects and my own hobbies! I walked into this amazingly large room of scrapbook hard at work, and they showed me some of the things that they have been working on, and I was blown away by the creativity and detailed beauty of their masterpieces. I'm super enthralled to learn that they offer classes and you can even come by and use the studio and craft anytime you want for a small membership fee! Hooray!!!

Since then, I've been going in, mostly for order pickups, and the customer service has always been top-notch. I've seen Gabe a few more times and he is a true customer service superstar. In fact, all the staff that I've dealt with over there have been helpful and kind. I live in Ventura but this is my favorite location. Other stores jump on you right when you come in and shove a basket down your throat. The staff in Thousand Oaks is helpful without the pressure. They also have a great selection of items. The displays and sales are as good as other branches. The sinks were messy with a bunch of hand soaps scattered and lots of paper towels scrunched on the counter (Hard to find the trash cans too). The maze and shadow room are fun for big and little kids. The dress up clothes were great fun for them as well. Lots for them to do when they finish painting, while they wait for their painted creations to dry. They don't fire the creations in a kiln or anything, but the plus side is, the plaster pieces are cheaper, and you get to take it home the same day, unlike other places where you have to pick it up a week later. We came in on a weekday summer morning at opening, so we were the only ones in the place. There was a gentleman, I assume the owner, working. He was quiet and definitely didn't want to get too involved in anything. The variety of paint colors available wasn't as good as it was years ago. It also used to be in condiment bottles that somewhat prevented the kids from squirting too much at one time. I'm guessing that they probably see a lot more paint waste without those. Be forewarned that this is the type of place where you really are left to your own devices; no one is going to sit with your kids and give them tips on painting or anything like that. You will want to try to talk your kids into really filling in all the white space. The glossy spray that they use to "finish" them doesn't stick to the plaster if there is not paint on it. The facility is in some need of maintenance. There were lots of signs on things letting you know that a machine is fickle and only takes certain quarters, which you can get up front, or the sign on the women's bathroom saying "Bathroom door doesn't lock. Use men's." Um... okay, or you could just run to Home Depot in the morning before the store opens, pick up a new doorknob, and replace it. Yeah, it takes time and money, but my guess is that the doorknob lock didn't break this morning. Sign looked like it wasn't recently made. Moreover... there are two single stall bathrooms, why is one men's and one women's? They should just both be unisex, since that is what is suggested. Other than a bit of laziness on the part of management in terms of maintenance, it's a fun place, and the kids had a fun morning, which was the goal, for a lot less than I'd have paid at somewhere like paint a dream.

Kim checked and said it was available, then immediately turned around to Evelyn and Evelyn squinted her eyes and whispered, "Are you going to go?"--all while I was standing right there witnessing the whole thing. I genuinely don't know if they thought my mom and I were stupid or not paying attention, but the disrespect was obvious. I confronted her and told her directly that the way she looked at her coworker was not okay. And we clearly saw her making that face and asking Kim if she was going to go look for it. Instead of apologizing, she gave us excuses, saying the item was "probably in boxes in the back." When I said we would wait and she could go check, both of them kept the same attitude, kept staring at each other and did not move a muscle. Instead of staring at each other and giving us dirty looks like WE were the ones causing a problem I'm sure they could have found the item. They were clearly bothered, I'm still trying to figure out what card was played. It was just pure disrespect towards my mom. Not a single apology. Not a single ounce of professionalism. Just attitude the entire time, eyes filled with hate. It's employees like this that make customers not want to come back EVER AGAIN. OshKosh, please hire people who will keep treat your business & customers with respect.
