I love Bath and Body Works. They are handy for hand soaps and candles!!! Or sometimes for gifts!!! The sales can be very amazing. The staff here don't come up to you and tell you any of the sales surprisingly because that's usually what you experience first walking in. I had no idea where the baskets were to put some stuff I wanted to buy in (usually staff hand you a basket too). I ended up finding one halfway into looking through the store. The displays and sales are as good as other branches. The sinks were messy with a bunch of hand soaps scattered and lots of paper towels scrunched on the counter (Hard to find the trash cans too). I did still enjoy shopping here however because of how good this chain is. read more

About a year ago I had a bad experience with customer service, and Gabe made up for it in a big way. Since then, I've been going in, mostly for order pickups, and the customer service has always been top-notch. I've seen Gabe a few more times and he is a true customer service superstar. In fact, all the staff that I've dealt with over there have been helpful and kind. I live in Ventura but this is my favorite location. Other stores jump on you right when you come in and shove a basket down your throat. The staff in Thousand Oaks is helpful without the pressure. They also have a great selection of items. As Dear Hubby can attest, I'm rather addicted to the products at BBW. I like to rotate the seasonal scents to heighten the mood of a new season. I also usually like the fresh graphics of their lotions, shower gels, body scrubs, and fragrances to decorate the bathrooms. Highly recommend signing up for the rewards program. It's not nationwide, but thankfully it's in full effect in Southern California. I earn free products fairly frequently. I also receive their email and text updates to alert me to special deals. Several times a year they offer value boxes which offer mostly full-sized products, including a three-wick candle, and a suite of body spray, hand lotion, and shower gel, plus a few other varying items. Thus I always have some extra products for gifts, and/or get to try scents that I might not discover if it wasn't for that promotion. They have a very liberal return policy - bring back anything you don't care for with a receipt and receive a friendly refund. Lost receipt, or can't find it? They will exchange like-for-like for you; just show your driver's license. I used to never take advantage of this, but recently put together a bag of products that I didn't love and switched them for newer styles that I know I like. And I still have a merchandise credit to use the next time. Their associates are normally very customer service oriented and seem to like what they do. Always a happy plus! Small tip - I'm wary of lighting candles in the house and accidentally forgetting one. I purchased online an electric candle warmer that works with a light bulb shining down on the candle. That warms up the wax and releases the scent, without a flame required. Since it's like a little lantern, I see the light and can remember to turn it off. It gently uses up the wax, but at a much, much slower pace than lighting the candle. I can safely fragrance a bathroom with pleasing diffused scent and pick up the aroma when I pass by the room. B&BW has a wonder selection of scents for men and women. The hand soaps are my favorite along with the eucalyptus scented apothecary body lotion. I also recommend the body scrub, with the cherry blossom scent as my favorite. There is always a sale going on from $3 soaps to buy two, get three free body items. Do be sure to sign up for the B&BW rewards and app. It's not available in all parts of the US. I always use a $10 off of 30 or 40 coupon and occasionally I get free items (up to $14) with a $10 purchase through the app. The staff are all really nice. And it's always busy but they move the lines quick and still offer great service. The store is open in conjunction with the Oaks shopping hours. I LOVE THIS STORE!!! I go here all the time and always come out with something. 1st: the scents are amazing!!! You can always find what scent you want wether it it strong, subtle, fruity, or sweet. They even have amazing seasonal scents. 2nd: the different products are great! They have all sorts of things like candles, sprays, creams, and more! 3rd: the staff are incredibly friendly. They are are always coming around to ask if you need help with anything. They will help you out when you want to ask recommendations. They know the store inside and out. I never see them sitting around on their phones, they are always working. 4th: the prices and sales are amazing!! Yes, the prices can be a little much but most of the time the products are on sale. The store itself is fine. The staff has no ability to think and gives completely wrong information about their sales. Multiple associates gave me different wrong information about the same sale and they don't seem to understand what the word "cologne" means. The fine print on the signs is also open to salesperson interpretation with no prices on anything. That's very dangerous when the associates have no IQ. UPDATE: I went onto their website and every single associate I spoke with was wrong. I heard three different versions of the same deal, all which were wrong. The full, expensive, glass bottles of cologne are indeed part of the sale despite what the idiot at the counter said. So, I ordered them online and received the deal. In general I love Bath and Body Works but I'll avoid this one as management needs to get a clue. UPDATE 2: This problem of cluelessness seems to be company-wide. Poor customer service when I had a defective product. The manager of the Thousand Oaks location was rude and tried to blame me for a defective wallflower that was leaking and heating up. He told me I have to replace the bulb way before it runs out but I have to watch to see when it changes color then replace it. I have never heard this before. He would not give me a replacement but offered a discount on buying a new one. Very disappointed and will not longer shop here. I spend hundreds of dollars at this store, and have been a loyal customer. I will no longer buy their products :( read more

Guys, I have a scent obsession. No joke. Ever since I had my baby (and during pregnancy) my sense of smell is much better and I'm always wanting to smell amazing scents. haha So weird, I know. Bath & Body Works helps fuel my addiction by having my favorite candles (in my price range), the 3 wicks! Ahhhh. I have so many! I can't get enough! I also love their shower gels, lotion, hand sanitizer and ROOM SPRAY! I love that damn cotton room spray so much. One annoying thing for me, would be their HUGE variety of sickly, sweet scents. I love fresh, crisp and even cologne-type scents. I actually stopped shopping here for a while because the thought of Warm Vanilla Sugar makes me want to throw up everywhere. How is that a top fragrance? blah. Also, the staff are SUPER eager to make a sale.. I mean.. calm down. I have heard a sales woman complain while another one was ringing me up. She said "oh my godddd, that lady totally just killed my conversion." *long sigh*. I guess she helped someone for an hour and they didn't buy anything. I get it but wait until no other guests are around, to complain. Haha They are constantly having sales so you should never pay full price, unless you desperately need an item when it's full price. 2 for $22 (3 wick candles) are the best when you combine them with a 20% coupon. You pretty much always get a 20% coupon anytime you buy something. The truth is, I could go on and on about this store but I should stop. I visited this store on June 11, 2022. A sign next to the hand soaps read, "All Hand Soaps $3.50," and a second sign said, "Select Soaps 50% off." I thought this was a good deal and proceeded to the cash registers with two hand soaps. The total for the order was over $16. I questioned the cashier worker who stated that I misread the sign that said "Select soaps were 50% off." I challenged saying that the other sign read ALL hand soaps were $3.50. Another worker supported the cashier worker who was assisting me. They stated that the sale is new and that I likely didn't understand the advertisement. I reiterated that ALL does not have alternative meanings, so I only purchased one bottle but made it clear that their sign was misleading. My partner was also with me at the time who attested to this as well. After I purchased one bottle, I walked back to the hand soap section to watch the other worker from the counter removing the signs!!! I would have understood if they had misplaced a sign or forgot to remove them from a previous sale. The deceit from this store and its personnel will make me question ever buying products from this store again. read more

I literally can't say enough nice things about the staff at this location. We went on the eve of Black Friday to pick up a few things and it was such a crazy madhouse. I would've lost my mind if I were them but these salesgirls kept up their positive attitudes and kept the lines going. Full disclosure, I only shop here during their semi-annual sales (why pay full price when amazing deals are around the corner?) So, when I go (2-3 times a year) I completely stock up, buying almost half the store--my mother and I's not-so-secret addiction. Absolutely love their products, they always have new ones out (although I get really sad when they discontinue ones I really like). They also constantly have coupons, and when you purchase something, there's a quick phone survey you can do to earn even more coupons (I believe the coupon from completing the survey is get $10 if you spend $30+? Awesome deal, especially when combined with their super low sales prices). The people working at this store are always friendly and patient. My mom and I went in a few weeks ago literally 3 minutes before they were closing, and ended up staying for about 15-20 minutes, and the staff was still nice to us (sorry, by the way!). They also are always good at helping you figure out the best way to purchase products to help you save/get more for your money--extra thumbs up. Definitely recommended.
