BIG EDIT* Sugarplum has moved to Westminster mall. They are…read moreno longer at the Buena Park mall. Check their website for details! *************** Sugarplum has been doing Sugarplum for over forty years! So you know they have fine tuned any glitches that an art & craft Festival might have. They've figured out the lines, so customer's waiting time is minimal. They have a strict reviewing process for new vendors so that there is something new & fresh to see every show! And.. if a location is not working, they don't quit, they find a new location to land & call home! Their show is family run & every vendor becomes family to them. They know many of their customers by name & love the first timers & their loyal ones that no matter how far, are first in the door at every Sugarplum with bells on! If you are a first timer you will find a magical shopping experience. I promise.

It was my very first experience at Sugar Plum Festivals. They had a whole selection of homemade…read morecrafts, baked goods, games, and jewelry. I was warmly welcomed by Mr. Vartan Kilbashian at his jewelry shop and by Kevin at his Tie Die goods shop. They each had a smile that let me know if I had any questions, I could ask them for help. Those actions alone let me know I could trust them with their expertise. However, there is one vendor (the one who sells the brooches, pins, old time watches and the halloween stuff) who treated me and my friends rudely. She falsely assumed that I was taking pictures of her products, when I did nothing of the sort. I was looking up a song to go with one of the haunted photos. My friends and I were discussing ideas. She could have asked us politely in a friendly manner but she chose not to. Instead she blatantly assumed I was taking photos with my cellphone. My only words to the vendor are this: ma'am, you had a choice and you made the choice to ruin you and Sugar Plum Festival's reputation. You even ruined your business. Instead of walking to a customer with a smile, you chose to act like a jerk. That doesn't fly. If that is how you operate, let alone interact with your employees and your customers, we don't need people like you running your business here. You are free to come and go as you wish, given it's a free country. However, you treat others the way you wish to be treated. If you don't want to do business with anyone, then just say so. And trust me, ma'am. There is going to come a day where you will stand and give an account of your life and how you treated people. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Kreepy Halloween is an off-shoot of Glendale Halloween apparently. This store is located off of…read moreRiverside Dr. & Woodman Ave. in Sherman Oaks. It's a big store dedicated to all things Halloween and Christmas, which is a weird mix but whatevers. There's hardly any circulation inside the store and it doesn't help that everything smells musty, which tracks considering how old the costumes are. There's a decent selection of everything you could possibly be looking for, but they're outdated and it feels like someone's trying to offload a bunch of things they've been keeping in storage. Overall if you don't want to shop online and want to look at Halloween things in-person, it might be worth a look. Truth be told though, you'll be able to find everything cheaper and in better quality elsewhere.

The name of the store is indeed Kreepy Halloween, for some reason it's still listed as Glendale…read moreHalloween, because it's affiliated with the original Glendale Halloween Store, their former flagship location which makes finding it extra online confusing. Even their website lists this location as Kreepy Halloween... But they updated everything... I get using the same domain name, but there's ways to make it easy to find or navigate... "Kreep Halloween - Sherman Oaks" but use the same everything else. It's a huge emporium of all things costume, cosplay and halloween from awesome wigs and accessories to incredible masks, props, replica weapons and beyond. There's sections and areas for all ages, sizes and genders. Outstanding holiday decor from the moment you cross the threshold and are greeted by their friendly security and/or helpful staff. I wanted to check out the lay of the land, this being the former Joann's (Fabrics, before they went out of business) and often a Spirit Halloween location prior to that. Honestly enjoyed Kreepy Halloween and while it was a little chaotic, over packed with product and the week of all hallow's eve, everyone does their part to assist and keep this store up. A lot of the Joann's signs are still up and/or very visible, which is to be expected with such a short turnaround time. I believe this store physically opened here in August and additionally there is a Kreepy Halloween in Los Feliz as of October, second location. Customer service is personable for sure, however the line was a little confusing with not the best clear signs to guide you or markers to let you know where the line physically starts. They had me go up past the first few registers not in use to just behind a gap where employees enter and exit... I made sure there was room and didn't stand in the way of the opening, but no indicators, marks or instruction for this that I could noticeably see... Other than that, they did have up to four to five registers open and the line moved quickly. Reasonable prices and parking both underground and on the ground level at the Riverside-Woodman plaza on the corner of the streets of the same names - diagonal from Notre Dame High.
