We came during peak bloom for the French lavenders in mid July. It wasn't crowded at all when we went. Even though it's recommended to buy tickets online, we had no problem buying the tickets at the door. I loved that they have chairs conveniently located in the fields so you can relax and take in the view. We had a lot of fun spending about 1.5 hours here. Please be sure to check their website for the latest bloom update before you make your trip. Also another thing to note is that there are lot of bees (understandably as it is a working farm), but it's something to keep in mind if you are allergic.

Staff is very kind and accommodating as we were unable to make our initial ticketed time. It costs $15 admission and will take no more than an 1/1.5hr to walk through the field. They unfortunately do not have an option to pick lavender due to prior damage, per the staff. There is a spot in the field to make a scent bag for $3, but that can be picked up at the little farm shop. There is a small stand at the entrance to buy bunches of fresh lavender, soaps, honeys, etc. While it is nice for a few pics, I do think $15 is a smidge on the pricier side. That said, it is a nice way to pass the afternoon and get some small lavender trinkets to go.

This farm is 25 acres and has approximately 10,000 lavender plants. It started in 2014. There is a…read moregift shop, trails, a pond, lawn games, and gardens. It is apparently the largest in New England. They even have a fairy garden. It really is picturesque. It was a drive for me but worth it. The farm was beautiful and unlike anything I've ever seen or smelled. The lavender plants were so pretty with bees buzzing everywhere. The gift shop was filled to the brim with local items and many lavender products such as bug spray, soaps, hand sanitizers, etc. We went on the trolley and the driver was very informative about the property. They are also fully solar powered. If you love farms, flowers, and wholesome activities, this is worth the visit.

An employee sped into the exit and parked and rushed towards us as we were stepping out of the car. She did a b line to us and we thought it was serious. She told us that they weren't even open and we were parked on the wrong side of the parking lot near barn. Due to her approach we thought that we were perhaps an hour early but when we asked what time they open she said 10 am. It was 9:50 am. I wish she had approached us differently. Why not just say that they will be opening in ten minutes. We weren't trying to get inside. We had just commuted an hour and stretching out. It was so unwelcoming. On the other hand a young man on a tractor said welcome while driving by us. The farm itself is lovely!

" Wine Flights" We enjoyed the wine inside their wine barn. This early 1900's barn is now an air conditioned wine sampling wine barn. We paired our wine with a yummy charcuterie board. The bartender knew everything about the wines we sampled, and about the history of the Harbes family farm. After enjoying the wine, we headed out to pet the farm animals. Yes they have 2 Highland Cows. The baby goats were our favorite! Then MJ got lost in the Hedge Maze lol, see video below. We enjoyed roasted corn on the cob and some fresh lemonade. Harbes Family Farm is exactly as described, there's a farm to feed animals, a stand to shop for fresh veggies as well as unique ice cream flavors. My favorite was the Apple Cider Doughnut Ice Cream. Soooooo good! I also had to try the corn ice cream. I mean, I love local corn from our Long Island. If they can make vodka from Long Island potatoes, corn ice cream isn't a big stretch. This was a nice place to stop and enjoy the bounties of Long Island.

If you were able to get the bulbs you could take those home too, which is a nice perk since they are perennials and will come back year after year. Plenty of parking. Tickets are cash or card. They have some goodies to also purchase on your way out. Petting farm for the kiddos (I mean I squealed when I saw the cute pigs too). Live music. Food trucks. The main nursery is open, as well. Lots of plants for sale when we went. And LI Farm Brewery is on premises!

All of the vendors had a similar "artsy/hippie vibe" which i loved. It felt like an event more for adults than many farms that make them loud and fun for kids. This was kid friendly, but def more zen and upscale. They also had beautiful animals that were friendly and roaming very happily. It was very peaceful. I purchased some amazing lavender candles too. Mid season, the familiar faces were gone and so did the great service and produce. My gripe is with their cases of tomatoes. For years we were able to adjust boxes (meaning swap out bad tomatoes) or "top off" the case. This year however, there was a $5 upcharge (anytime they felt like charging it, depending on who was working that day) which is fine because I get it, prices change but be consistent. Also the case is "as is" which means I now have to wonder how many rotten tomatoes I'm gifted with. Only to be told quite rudely "if you don't like it, don't buy it" Where are the sisters who ran this farm exceptionally?? So disappointing. Do yourself a favor and drive a bit up in either direction to Latham's or Farmer Joe on Albertson.
