" Wine Flights" We enjoyed the wine inside their wine barn. This early 1900's barn is now an air conditioned wine sampling wine barn. We paired our wine with a yummy charcuterie board. The bartender knew everything about the wines we sampled, and about the history of the Harbes family farm. After enjoying the wine, we headed out to pet the farm animals. Yes they have 2 Highland Cows. The baby goats were our favorite! Then MJ got lost in the Hedge Maze lol, see video below. We enjoyed roasted corn on the cob and some fresh lemonade. Heads up - most of the apples on the trees were pretty small, except for the giant ones in the bin (we preferred picking right off the trees ). Another heads up - the donuts are cash only, so plan ahead! The employees at each section were so warm, welcoming, and kind. The view by the picnic tables was beautiful, and I honestly wish we had planned to stay longer just to enjoy it. It's a smaller area for picking compared to what I've experienced upstate, but it would be perfect for families with young children or anyone who can't walk very far. This was my first time apple picking on Long Island, and I loved seeing the dwarf trees - it was really neat to have the apples at easy picking height! I think it was fairly priced at 14 dollars. The staff was very friendly and kept the line moving fast. They have a few tables indoor with tables in the front and back outside. We also bought the bags to go apple picking in the back. It was very nice being able to go apple picking without the crazy crowds. The bugs were a bit crazy because of the rotten apples on the floor but that is to be expected. This is my new go go apple picking spot out east.

They always have a good selection of in season fresh produce. I believe all or most of the produce is grown on the Reeve farm. Some North Fork farm stands sell stuff from out of state. If you see peaches in April it's a good sign that it wasn't grown on the NF. Always ask where an item is grown if you are interested in local produce.

Better than what you get at the supermarket for sure. The green beans are also fresh and not like the mushy bags you get at Trader Joe's. There's nothing like farm to table. They also have a nice bakery with excellent cheese bread and pies. Very fresh and warm when we bought them. The location is closer to Nassau and Manhattan than other farms on Long Island. The store is not well-lit though it's a barn so take it with a grain of salt. They have some unique items if you take a look. Came here last year during the pandemic after Mother's Day weekend, there were plenty of plants and vegetable plants to choose from. Guess not a lot of people came to buy plants last year so we got a unique items last year including black cherry tomatoes, yellow watermelon, various types of lavenders, and bunch of other plants. We took a chance on a dried up banana tree that was for $10 and gave it as a gift as well as the other items we brought ($4 each, I believe). The tree survived. It's currently thriving and we are waiting for the tree to produce bananas. Last year and this year they also had baby chicks in the greenhouse. It's makes my day to see the chicks and you know it's Springtime. We went again this year after Mother's Day weekend and there were a few places and vegetables available. I picked up lavender grotto ($5), citronella ($5), and some succulents ($10). No dying or last leg plants this year. The choices were more limited since folks came out to buy the fruits and vegetables early this year now that places are opening up again. Guess we need to go early.

We get many of our plants and vegetables from this farm since we try to eat mostly organic. Inside the barn they have a lot of interesting things so it's definitely worth taking a look around in there. They also have things for the kids to do and you can eat outside on their picnic benches. It's a nice place to visit while you're driving down Sound Avenue. I recommend stopping and checking this place out.
