This was our first visit to this location since it moved from the Berry Fresh plaza, and it is so much easier to get in and park. It's a small place, with just 9 tables and an assortment of bar chairs inside, but there is lots of seating outside. We ordered the falafel appetizer. I'm used to a different flavor of falafel and crisper. These were okay, but I don't think I'll order them again. It did come with a nice selection of veggies and plenty of delicious sauce. We also tried the spinach pie appetizer, and it was generous and delicious, big thumbs up. Both of us ordered the gyro sandwich. One of us got fries the other a salad. The fries were good, well-seasoned, maybe could have been cooked a little more for my personal preference. The salad was a nice surprise, tasted great. Both were large portions. We both enjoyed the gyros, and they were also extra large. One of us took half of it home. We ordered takeout for tomorrow, and we aren't exactly sure what we ordered because it looked a little different when we got home and took it out of the bag. However, we are not that familiar with the menu (which is extensive), so maybe we didn't order what we thought, which was a trio that includes 2 sides (beans and a salad), spinach pie, moussaka, and pastitsio. It looks like the moussaka was missing. Service was good, portions extra large. We plan to return and will make sure we check with the server about what exactly we thinking we're ordering when it comes to the takeout, if we do that again. ETA: The takeout we took home was definitely missing the moussaka. The rest of it (pastitsio, pie, and beans) did not taste that good at all. Nice ambiance, small but cozy. Haven't been here in a while and realized they changed location to the plaza next door, glad I found them! Staff is always friendly and accommodating. I usually get the gyro and wanted something different today and an app instead, so went for the meze sampler. Delicious! The friend zucchini is perfect. Stopped in here for an early dinner. It's a relatively small place - maybe 10 tables. We were greeted and seated immediately. John was our server and he could not have been nicer. We had the falafel and hummus appetizers and the 2 gyro platters with salad and lemon potatoes for dinner. The tzatziki was out of this world. We especially like that they served it in larger portions and not the tiny little cups that some places do. We were good for 2 bites of the baklava cheesecake which was full of flavor. Great experience! Inside is super cute, some of the chairs aren't comfortable but they make up for it with their food. Lentil soup was fantastic and hot, just what we needed on a cold day in FL. Gyro was great, plenty of food and FAST!! Loved how easy this was. If you're wearing golf shoes be careful because the floors were a bit slippery on the way to the restroom. Let me preface this review by saying I have frequented this establishment for many years. The new location at St. Lucie West has ample covered outdoor seating Unfortunately at the time I arrived I was told I could not sit there due to a private party. The interior seating is limited and the acoustics are terrible, it seems very noisy even though people are speaking with "inside voices." This is our second visit to this location. My SO ordered the Greek platter, which looked like a deconstructed Gyro , accompanied by Greek salad and the roasted potatoes. I had the Spanakopita platter with same accompaniments. Salads were fresh and good portions My guy was happy with his entree. My entree initially arrived with half the expected portion, 2 pieces of Spanikopita not 4. My guy immediately stated this. The plate was placed before me and it had to be sent back due to a non food item being obviously on it. Both the server and manager apologized. Having worked in hospitality, I would suggest better quality control before the food leaves the kitchen. New plate with the expected 4 pieces delivered. The Spanikopita is not what it once was... I would say it has about 1/2 the filling and it was dry. The roasted potatoes were undercooked and I asked for well done to avoid this. The manager did comp my entree and treat me to a glass of the house Chardonnay. That is good customer service Thinking we'll give the Tradition location 1 more chance. I was about to hop on the highway and head back to Miami from Port St Lucie but I was pretty hungry. Spiro's popped up on Yelp as one of the only spots where I can find something healthy and quick. When I initially walked in, I almost turned and walked out because honestly speaking, it didn't have the vibe of a good restaurant. It was small with a large bar/counter taking up a large majority of the space. Maybe about 5 or 6 seats at the counter and a handful of tables for dining in. Most tables were empty except one and there was only one woman seated at the bar. I decided to give it a try because the people dining in seemed to be enjoying their food. I ordered a Tuna Pita no bacon w/ salad instead of fries and a small side of hummus. My to-go order came out quickly and it was actually not that expensive. I paid about $15. My tuna tasted cold and fresh. The pita was warm and yummy and it was a decent portion and very filling. The side salad I ordered was nice. It was a Greek salad with feta, olives, red onion, cucumber, lettuce and tomato and the veggies looked nice. The dressing was a creamy dressing that was a pink color. It was very yummy and I wish I had asked what kind of dressing it was. My only suggestion would be to add a tad more mayo or other dressing to the tuna because it was a tiny bit dry but still good and thankfully NOT SALTY like a lot of places I've been to lately for tuna. I think it's good to note that the staff in this place were all really nice. I asked questions to the staff regarding the area because my husband and I are considering relocating there. I wasn't expecting them to actually hold a genuine conversation with me because my experience when dealing with young people is they barely speak, they shake their head in response to questions and getting them to actually talk is like pulling teeth. Lol! But these young people spoke, had feedback and kept the conversation flowing until my food arrived and when the young lady came out with my food, she called my name in such a sweet, bubbly manner and I turned to see a smiling face as she handed me my bag. Gyro had some meat and awful orange hard tomatoes! Ripe, red tomatoes can be had but not here. This was a great location to have a girls night out. The ladies and I had an awesome time with great Mediterranean food and good atmosphere with music. We choose to wat outside because it was very small on the inside. My food was ok. I had the shrimp salad flatbread appetizer with steamed lemon broccoli. The flatbread got soggy too quick due to the dressing already drizzled over it. Next time I'll just ask for dressing on the side. The broccoli did not have any flavor of lemon but it was still good. A Mediterranean Diet is a heart-healthy nutrition idea and one of the popular nourishments being encouraged currently, and Greece is known as the mother of Mediterranean cuisine. Interesting enough, Spiro's Taverna's slogan is "Live Long. Eat Greek." That certainly makes sense to me. As you enter the restaurant, one would find a large counter to the right with surrounding wooden seated tables. Behind the counter there is lamb and pork, marinated with herbs and spice threaded onto two different vertical rotisserie style cookers. We chose to dine outdoors at one of the two tables. Our server was very friendly and worked hard to please us. Our choices for dinner were quite traditional, Chicken Gyro platter with French Fries on the side. I hate to leave this review, but I feel it needs to be added. We LOVE Mediterranean food. Unfortunately, it was a big miss. I will say the guy who waited on us was great. I truly feel bad for leaving 1 star. We ordered Hummus = it was not smooth and creamy and did have olive oil and paprika on it Falafel = they seemed to have a binder other than chickpeas, hearbs, and spices. It's almost like a breadcrumb filling. Terrible. Gyro = the meat was too thick and had a weird flavor to it where it tasted off Lemon Rice soup = this we really enjoyed Lemon Potatoes = I feel like they forgot to add the lemon, so we squeezed extra, and it was amazing The guy ended up taking care of us, and we left him a tip in return. The food was a bad imitation of Greek food ( I happen to be Greek born and raised there and I happen to cook Greek dishes. What they called fried calamari was the tiniest pieces of calamari fried to death. Saganaki was the thinnest cheese slice baked to death. What they called Greek salad was literally a ton of lettuce some cherry tomatoes tasteless feta and a pink dressing I cannot describe definitely not Greek. I ordered the roast lamb that was served with a brown gravy not Greek the lemon potatoes tasteless . My partner had the Greek soup he said it was ok the lamb shank swimming in the brown gravy and the rice pudding he said it was ok. All In all a Greek tragicomedy .
