Yang is AMAZING!! He was incredibly helpful with helping my husband and I pick the right fish in regards to compatibility, water temperature and size. You could tell he loves what he does and is VERY good at it. We ended up purchasing some baby discus, guppies and a rainbow shark. Splash aquarium is a remarkably clean, well managed store with a beautiful selection of healthy happy fish. All of the employees were knowledgeable and super helpful. These guys got it right with customer service and created a customer for life! First off, this place is awesome. We went in to test our tank water, since our Beta fish died. They did this free of cost. Kyle helped us, he was very informative and answered all of our question, even without purchasing anything. He set us up for success, he gave us tips on how to do our aquarium set up for our next Beta. We would be happy to go back for any of our aquarium needs. I called asking for red cherry shrimp, which they had. When we actually came in to see their shrimp, they had several varieties! We were so excited to see shrimp of different colors like blue, yellow, black, stripped, etc. So instead of picking up red ones like we planned, we came out with two blue and two yellow shrimp. To our surprise, the clerk helping us had given us a pregnant one of each color The store itself is organized and the workers are very nice, I think it is a family ran business. Beautifully restored local aquarium. It use to be jojos and was dark and you couldn't really see anything, but now it's much more vibrant and welcoming. I've bought 3 flowerhorns here, 2 big plecos, and multiple foods and accessories for my aquariums. Probably one of the best upcoming LFS in Sacramento. I've been to many LFS, and this shop has a great mixture of fresh and saltwater items. The owner really knows how to aquascape his stuff! Having experience in both fresh and saltwater aquariums, I can say that their livestock inventory is decent. However where they shine the most is their customer service, and if you've been to enough shops, you know that customer service trumps price. I came to this store for freshwater fish and I love this fish store! They are extremely helpful and knowledgeable, especially in discus. They have a beautiful selection of discus as well as other not so usual fish. We always make family trips to this store and we're always greeted with a warm welcome. They're always eager to help and make great recommendations on how to keep fish happy and healthy. They'll even test your tank water to show what water conditions you have in your tank. This is one of my favorite spots for corals in the Sacramento area! They have a fair selection of saltwater fish and coral, smaller than Exotic Aquarium, but certainly in much better health all while reasonably priced. If you're new to the hobby or are looking to expand some I'd definitely recommend either here or Aquarium Depot in CH. Both have some awesome employees who can help you with most questions and healthy/reasonably priced fish that you'll appreciate having more in the long run! read more

I had a pair of breeding angelfish, the female died unexpectedly and the male was VERY upset/depressed about it. After doing some research online, I concluded that if I was to get him a friend it needed to be done quickly. The young man that helped me steered me in the right direction and gave me some very useful advice specific to my situation. So I been coming here when it first opened as JOJO's aquarium. The guy that used to work at formerly known JOJO's aquarium(now splash aquarium) now works here. I believe he might be a co-owner. Regardless, super chill dude. I stop in and grab random stuff. Occasionally, new crustaceans. Their supply of aquatic life is top notch. All aquarium life is lively and healthy. This is for the saltwater side, plenty of coral employees tried to help us as often as they saw us. The coral had 2 large tanks to choose from, frags where a good price I thought and they had a decent selection of it. We did buy a blue hippo tang, unfortunately it died the next morning. That missing 1 star is for their Live Brine Shrimp. A week or so ago I purchased 2 ounces of brine shrimp to my dismay when I got home I only have 1 ounce and I paid for 2 ounces $5.00. I didn't bother to go back and claim the other 1 ounce $2.50 worth because it would cost me more than that just to go back and get it, because I reside here in Lodi.
