Our poodle Benny needed a second TPLO surgery. We heard about Splash from our surgeon and gave them a try. What an absolutely wonderful experience. It is clear how much they adore dogs, and returning them to an active life is their purpose. Beyond the therapy, each visit they looked any Benny for the progress of his recovery. At one point they reminded me that he really needs his two good walks a day. It made me realize that I needed to do better on his walks, and started the regimen. Beyond speeding his recovery, he has come to love his walk time. Benny is that aloof poodle where life is transactional. He was never sure that walks were cool, and he had to be convinced. Not anymore. He loves his walks. The first time around we used a different business, but you can just stop at Splash. TPLO surgery is enough of a difficult challenge. We've been going to Kristen for over 5 years now and can honestly say she's single handedly chaged the lives of all three of our dogs: 1. Our senior girl swam with Kristen until the very end. It was the highlight of her week, and likely extended her life by at least a year. Her swimming improved her mobility, made her feel silly and goofy after, and helped us enjoy her until she was nearly 16! 2. Our young pup has elbow dysplasia, and at 1 year old our surgeon, Dr. Novo, recommended we see Kristen instead of surgery. She did great, avoided surgery and has no elbow issues. A year and a half ago she tore her cruciate ligament and subsequently had to have two TPLOs back to back. With a combination of underwater treadmill and Kristen's expertise, followed by a transition to swimming in the pool and she's got all the mobility of a young dog again! She's now 6 and in great health. 3. Our third dog strained his psoas and again underwater treadmill rehab was recommended. With Kristen's guidance he bounced back and now swims with his sister as often as he can in the pool. Both of our living dogs were seen by a new vet recently and she couldn't stop complimenting their body condition. She thought our 8 year old was 3 he has such great muscle tone Without Kristen I'm not sure where our dogs would be, but I'm thankful everyday we don't have to find out. DO NOT GO HERE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RUDE IGNORANT ASSISTANT!!!! I came here on Tuesday around 1:55 pm for my dog's appointment that I thought was at 2:00pm. Kirstin the owner had let me known day before that we were meeting on Tuesday and sent me a schedule for sessions to meet. The schedule was confusing and I misinterpreted my dog's session to be at 2:00pm on Tuesday. Without any confirmation about what time to come I went at what I thought was her session at 2:00pm. When I arrive I waited for about 5 minutes (now it's 2:00pm) and no one came outside to take my dog in. My dog usually gets car sick and foams at the mouth when in the car so I needed to take her outside to get some fresh air and nothing more. As my partner is getting my dog out a random lady comes telling me my session was 12:00pm and that I'm here during her session time and to go back in my car and the Kirsten will get me. I then told her my session was at 2 (at the time I was unaware about misinterpreting the schedule) and I'm taking my dog outside because she's foaming at the mouth and needs fresh air. She then walks away and i take my dog away from the property to get some fresh air and adjust to being outside the car. 15 minutes go by (which I don't mind waiting) and then Kirsten and her assistant come out. Kirsten then says I missed my session and I said I thought it was at 2 pm and misread the message but why didn't I receive a message about confirmation of time or missing of the appointment? Kirsten then doesn't give me any clear answer and makes two excuses, one saying there was a flood and another saying she was dealing with a big dog. As I ask her questions and confront her about why she didn't communicate to me about not being at a session and confirming the time she then goes to attack my character and says you seem upset. (No shit Sherlock you're not communicating to your customers clearly.) as I calmly talk to her and explain I'm not upset but frustrated she goes on more about my character about being upset when all I was stating was the situation and her not giving me a clear answer on why she didn't message me if I missed an appointment or a confirmation for an appointment. I then started to leave because I didn't want to go to a instructor that doesn't communicate well and that's extremely professional and has random customers get involved with different clients. As I'm leaving Kirsten says a sly message to go to a surgeon, (Ive her multiple times surgery is not what I'm choosing for my dog. )After she made her sly comment I said I don't need her opinion and her assistant then wants to add that's she's "just trying to help" I then stated I don't need her help and then her assistant wants to take the biggest low and say that's what I get for getting a dog from a pet store. Do no ever go to this disgusting place. My dog suffers from sever hip dysplasia and their assistance wants to make fun of dogs with disabilities and take emotional advantage of clients and abused in arguments. They do not know how to talk to people or respect others and just like to take peoples money. DO NO COME. read more

We have a 13 year old black lab with classic "bad hips". He'd really been struggling to stand at an elevated food bowl or squat down to do his business. He's lived a very active life and to see him hurt as a senior is so sad. After seeing the Splash Canine Hydrotherapy Facebook page we decided to give it a try. Hydrotherapy has changed our dog's life. The exercise our boy is getting, with low impact, has helped his back legs and front shoulder tremendously in conjunction with an anti-inflammatory Kristen recommended we get through our vet. Most importantly he's getting to play like he had when he was young and I just love watching his happy face. Kristen is absolutely wonderful with animals. She has years of experience helping animals recover from surgery or injuries through vet clinics if you'd like references. Kristen has recognized every diagnosis we've gotten from our vet from our dogs nose to his tail. She is very knowledgeable and has a strategy to get your pup healed and a maintenance plan if you're interested. Kristen doesn't just play with your dog in the water. She challenges them appropriately, makes them rest when needed, rewards with goodies and most importantly loves on your puppy. Kristen provides clean towels and a variety of treats. Kristen dries your dog afterwards and is constantly evaluating progress and set backs. If your dog's nails need clipping she takes care of that too. I have been taking my 11-year old dog Dezi to Splash Hydrotherapy for about two years now. She had been recently diagnosed with hip dysplasia, two torn cruciate ligaments, and neurological issues. She had so many problems she could barely stand up. Surgery wasn't an option because she has kidney issues so I was hoping hydrotherapy was a viable treatment. I can honestly say it was the best thing I could have done for her. The owner, Kristin, was able to quickly accommodate us when I first contacted them because of Dezi's severe condition and she has been continuing regular therapy with Splash since. Between hydrotherapy and her medication protocol, within six months Dezi went from barely being able to walk and stand, to enjoying life again--she sometimes even wants to play like she used to when she was a puppy. I would not hesitate to recommend Splash to anyone considering hydrotherapy for their dog. I am so grateful and fortunate to have found them. Kristin genuinely cares about each and every dog that she sees and I know that if it wasn't for her, Dezi would no longer be with us. read more

I have taken my dog, Nella, to Kristin, off and on for 5 years. Nella's knee surgeon advised PT, after knee surgery, to correct the patellar luxsation. Kristin is up to date on all PT methods and Nella loved her PT visits, because Kristin also made the sessions fun and entertaining. Nella had both of her knees, surgically repaired, over time and Kristin was instrumental in helping her recover quickly and safely. Sadly, Nella passed away, recently, from congestive heart failure. She did help raise a puppy and we have just learned that SHE has the same problem...surgery may be in HER future and if so...Kristin is where she will get the professional PT help she will need! read more

I traveled all the way out from Troutdale for her to refuse service to me. Relaying to her that my dog has to walk 3 flights of stairs because I live in an apartment. My dog has a deteriorating knee that I recently found out about. She is also over weight since she has not been able to exercise with her bad knee. She tells me I'm lying about my situation and not being truthful about my dog. If anyone knows me, they know that I love my dog like my child. She told me that I needed to "work on myself" and that she wasn't going to argue with me and said that I was not willing to listen to her. All I did was sit there and listen to the rude and naïve things she was telling me. To tell a brand new customer that you know nothing about to "work on themselves" is absolutely mind blowing I didn't no I was going into a therapy session for MYSELF. The things she was saying and how she treated me was so uncomfortable and unnecessary. I would never recommend bringing your business here. She is very ignorant and seems to want to be in control. I'm very open and kind and would never treat a new customer the way she did to me. Not worth all this trouble at all. Find a different therapy place if I were you. 0 stars DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

hard to say, sight unseen. then why the "5 stars." excellent question. everything that yelp has on them and all they have on their website "seems as it appears." moreover when i telephoned them their answering service greeting gave me all the information needed to know to get started. then i got an unexpected return call (as their greeting explained that consumer demand outstrips supply of service providers). they had taken the time to read the solicited email & asked appropriate followup questions to assist our dog " chica on her journey." not every service provider thus far on chica's journey has been as helpful and we have not spent a dime as yet with this business. even if we are for some reason unable to attend an initial exam appointment that has so graciously been accommodated for us, we've been blessed to contact this business. thanks read more
