This happened to be a weekend of martinis - so decided to drive out to Splash (finally). The weather was a little chilly but we started off on the patio however the fire was enough to keep away the bugs the table was pretty coated! The patio itself also could use some TLC the railings/fencing along it were coated in spider webs and your sitting right up against that. We moved inside the space is pretty lit up compared to other martini bars I've been in but the music was still giving the same dance in your seat vibe. We ordered the spinach dip which while it was good was just served with Tostitos! and was a fairly small dish of dip. However the martinis were great the cucumber martini was a gin martini and wow was it refreshing you'd have no idea there was any alcohol in that drink. Not quite worth the drive but was an experience- if we planned ahead better and could spend the day in Oconomowoc might be more worth it. read more

We stopped into Splash after seeing a show in Oconomowoc. It was a Saturday night and they had live music playing in the bar. There is a long bar area when you enter and a lounge type room in the back. We didn't sit there, but it looked very cozy. We headed out to the upper deck With our group. On the deck, there were numerous table fires, which would have been very cozy. Our group was too large to fit around one of those, so we grabbed a few tables and put them together in the back corner. I ordered a slightly dirty martini, and got a dirty martini. Which was not what I ordered,but it was still delicious. It was loud enough that my date and I were at shout volume though seated close (as was required after finding two stools and a small spot to push them together). I've been coming to Splash for years and have always had good experiences, which is why this was so disappointing. On New Year's Eve, the service felt completely different our group was met with a pretty rude and condescending attitude from the bartender/server. One friend who 27 years old was refused because they had a vertical ID that was valid and not expired, and there was zero effort to explain the policy or handle it respectfully. We asked if an owner or manager was available since we've never had an issue here before, but we were told no and weren't given any option to escalate or talk to someone else. My date and I tend toward whiskey cocktails, so we both opted for their Manhattan. Their pours are incredibly generous and their prices are incredibly reasonable. What's not to love? We weren't there for bites but they do have a few snacks on the menu to enjoy with your cocktails if you desire. The inside is warm, welcoming, and intimate. I was there during brisk weather, so we sat inside but it appears they have some lovely outdoor seating as well. The service was efficient and friendly enough. I opted for a chocolate espresso tini - smooth and delicious. Chris had a seasonal caramel apple tini that was sweet and tasty. Katie had a cosmo. Returned after dinner for dessert tinis. I started with the s'more tini - with the marshmallow that they lit at the table, graham cracker rim and a creamy smooth chocolatey tini. Can't remember what my second dessert martini was - can you blame me? It was delicious. Bonus - live music on weekend nights. Good drinks and good entertainment. I was the designated driver and also working on 6 months no alcohol. I ordered the NA Lemon martini. She poured mine first and I took a big drink and questioned her if she was sure that was the NA one. She reassured me, she kept mine separate. When the other girl received hers I had her try it and she received the NA one. Needless to say, I was really upset! I was going to say something, but then in the middle of our reservation we got a different waitress. When it came time to pay, there were issues with who received what and the bill. Second time to this martini bar. My friend and I had dinner plans in Downtown Oconomowoc, and decided to have a martini before eating. I've been on a chocolate martini kick. They have their own pre-made mixture, but I could also get my own made with RumChata. After getting a sample of their pre-made, I decided on their pre-made mix with a shot of RumChata. So delicious, and the presentation with a chocolate swirl in the glass was a nice addition. My friend had a dirty martini, and said it was "wooo" ! The bartenders were cool and attentive. We were in good company. Would have stayed for another, but had to get something to eat. The place is pretty big. Has back area seating, and outdoor patio seating is nice. Got to finally check this out last weekend, and was not disappointed! Splash has the cutest bar inside as well as a spacious two story patio overlooking Lac La Belle. They have about 60 different specialty martinis, which makes it really hard to choose what to get. I ended up ordering the Pop Rock and Key Lime Pie, which were both amazing but dessert cocktails really do have my heart. Pop Rock is made of tropical punch vodka, fresh raspberry purée, lemon purée, and served with a Pop Rocks candy rim. You can definitely feel them popping in your mouth as you take a sip of your drink! It was definitely more of a sweet drink, but it's a candy cocktail so that's kind of the whole point. The Key Lime consists of vanilla vodka, Liqueur 43, Midori, fresh lime, cream, and a graham cracker rim glass. It's the perfect drink to cool off on a hot summer day. The price-point is fair especially for these being specialty drinks that they pour at your table. Most of the martinis were $10-$12 each, which is expensive for a normal bar but these drinks are amazing! I definitely want to go back soon and try more of these yummy drinks. read more

First time here. Was very surprised by the beautiful view of Lac LaBelle! A nice deck when it's not so humid. My mom had a local BOGO coupon. We tried the dark chocolate raspberry and the birthday cake martinis. They were both very good! Nice lounge in the back of the place to enjoy the lake view from inside with some comfy lounge furniture. Gets less than 5 stars due to the service as it took 30 minutes for a server with only 6 customers in the place. read more

Was meeting my daughters at this place for a birthday drink and wind caught door and tore skin from the back of my daughters foot. Accidents happen. First time kids have been there. Daughter wanted to sit down for a minute because her foot was bleeding so wanted to head out to where I was sitting because she was thinking I was already there. Daughters did not know that today the lower bar was closed. Nor did I until I had gotten there and walked down below from outside. Bartender, in fairness was not aware that one of my kids foot was slashed when walking in and was very rude to both of them. After entering bartender immediately expressed that they could not go outside without ordering a drink from him right then. Birthday girl who was looking for me so I could buy her a birthday drink was told, "you cannot go outside without ordering a drink." Service jobs are tough, I get that. A bit of empathy or at a minimal a sign at the door letting customers know that the downstairs bar is closed would be a good idea. Much better than some dude who's not liking his job right now. Daughter texted me that fella was rude and didn't want any part of the place. I was at war memorial (that is impressive by the way) and a very short distance away walked around back of building outside and we all left. Life is too short. I had been here one other time when bar below was open and was impressed with the shade and the view. Today it is fair to say my families experience here did not go well. Fun idea for a martini bar in the lake country area! Personally I wasn't a big fan of many of the martinis. I felt that a lot of them were pretty sweet tasting. My friends I was with like sweeter drinks and loved the martinis. We sat in the furthest back room which was nice because it was a little quieter and we could hear one another talk. The furnishing of the back room was very comfortable and easy to be able to sit in our group and talk. I would recommend to other people to go. read more

The other reviews are pretty spot-on. It's a nice little night-spot for Oconomowoc, but they were out of one of the beers my friend ordered. When she asked the waitress, it seemed like she didn't even know what the beer was, or that it was even available as a tap. Prices for a martini ranged from $8.00-$10.00 on the menu, $2.00 more if you wanted top-shelf. The non-alcoholic martini (i don't quite get the point of that) was $4.00 (and you would basically be paying for juice). They have a nice patio and the plush chairs are a nice touch. It was a nice, low-key place to see a band, but something tells me they sell a lot more out of their beer selection than their martinis. Bottled beers were $3.50, which was reasonable. Our server was nice, but a little overbearing at times. They do have a small selection of bar food. Pizza is ordered in from Pepinos. We might go back, but only to see our friends' band. I can't see going here on a regular basis. read more

Nice atmosphere, loved the decor. Probably the nicest looking bar I have been to outside of Milwaukee. My friend and I each had different martinis, both were tasty. I felt prices were a little high for a rural bar and they did not have good happy hour specials. At the time of my visit, they were out of all the ingredients to make their advertised appetizers. Our waitress was cold, uninformative and just plain rude! She also spilled drinks on two or three times that went onto the table, clothing and a purse! I want to start by saying I love this place. I've never had a bad martini, they have a great patio, love the fire pits in the fall, I even like the hot pretzel they have on their menu. The bartenders are all friendly and welcoming. The reason for my 2 star review is the lack of proper staffing. We have been to the bar several times (during cocktail hour) and there is only one bartender working. By one bartender, I mean one customer facing employee serving the entire bar and the entire patio. This place gets busy in the summertime evenings. It gets to the point where you feel guilty for ordering because there's a patio full of people and one bartender working and trying to clear tables, tend to the bar, serve the patio, deliver and cash out checks, not to mention make all of the drinks. We have gotten to the point where if we see the patio is full and there is only one person working, we turn around. Understaffing is not good for anyone - employees and customers alike. This place would be a 5 star spot if it were properly staffed! read more
