I don't know how I got this photo. I barley can hold up my camera

First let me start by saying how "COLD" that water is! It's unbearable! It felt like knifes stabbing you, could barely move! If you get the hour pass just be advised it's going to take you about that much time to even get to the course! Can't even breathe. Besides how cold it is I think it could have been a lot more fun. For me... it was more I couldn't enjoy myself because how cold it was wish I would of known I would of wore a wet suit. They really should add that to there site so people can be prepared. I wouldn't even bring my younger kids would be waste of money because they wouldn't even want to get in. We got lucky we came afternoon someone left and we got a great spot off to the side. Staff can be a little rude but if you don't feed into it there's no problem. Didn't like that I had a little one at home and had an emergency so had to pay for WiFi. I paid the WiFi and it only worked if I was standing around the cabanas another thing they didn't mention so here I am standing in the middle of random peoples area just felt a little uncomfortable. The place has so much potential I would come back "maybe" but so much not mentioned just figure it out for the next time.

Prior to getting here, I inquired about discount pricing, or any discount since there was a field that indicated you could put in a code. After I had left a message, Mary provided me many helpful tips: 1. Internet connection is weak so it is best to purchase tickets on-line prior to arriving 2. Complete your Waiver ahead of time to be processed faster 3. Discounts are applied to groups of 10 or more 4. Discounts available on certain days of the week for military veterans(Mon.?), 1st responders(Tues.?) & teachers(Thurs.). I would double check, but once you present your badge you are given FREE admission. Wow! I was really surprised at how much they appreciate people working in these fields, it really touched my In addition, don't forget to bring $8 for parking, & water shoes. What I also love about this place is the staff, majority of them being high schoolers, maybe college aged, but everyone was really helpful. The life guard was attentive to my daughter when she was struggling to get out of the water. Without prompting for help, the life guard automatically came & skillfully wisked my daughter easily out of the water. Let me tell you it is not an easy task getting someone else who is a little heavier than you out, so kudos to the young life guard. What I also appreciate about S n' D was they allow you to bring your own food & drinks in. In most amusement/water parks they use concession items to help make their revenue, but not so here, they really just want you to have fun at an affordable price. The obstacle courses made me feel like I was part of the Ninja Warrior show, things are definitely harder than they look, from monkey bars to balancing rope platforms, to water slides to the Blob, to going onto the Saturn & Ship Floatation Device. For the Saturn & Ship you really need great upper body strength to mount yourself up there. I wish both had a ladder for easier access. I was fortunate enough to have a kind stranger push me up, otherwise I would have never made it. We all enjoyed venturing out to the various stations. I highly recommend this place, there is so much to do. It isn't your typical water slide park. So glad my daughter found this hidden treasure, despite the long drive.

    Park just opened 12:00 p.m.

If your kids or grandkids have been there done that and your looking for something new this, is it. When I took my 11,8-year-old grandkids last year without even getting in the water they asked if they could come back this year....so we did this August. It's a long drive but worth it. Yes the water is cold but if you come on a hot day it offsets it. The kids just love it and don't want to come in plus its good exercise! We did do the water gun fight but that would have been more fun with lots of kids instead of just our 4 kids. They would have preferred to just stay in the water. For the adults I recommend a cabana waterfront. We rented it both times they are big and conveniently located to watch the kids and the action. I wished we had brought binoculars. Next year they will be 13, and 10 so we will see when they outgrow it, however I did see teenagers and some adults out there. You must bring water shoes.

It was great! Not to busy for a Monday. We got there at 11am checked in and started. It was 103° but the water was ice cold. Life guards were doing their job. We did this for about four hours off and on. It's a work out for some of us "older" folks, but it was fun. The kids enjoyed it. I would definitely go again.

I make a room reservation at Harris Ranch Resort in Coalinga, CA. I can't check-in at Harris Ranch Resort until 4:00pm so I was searching for kids playground on Yelp. And I came across Splash N Dash Aqua Park. So I decided to take my daughter to Splash N Dash on Saturday since it's on the way to Coalinga, CA from San Francisco. $37.99 per person weekend all day play. The weather in August was 103 degrees but the water is ice cold. My daughter and I thought we can't make it to floating Aqua Park. But when my daughter and I started swimming we felt less cold. When we got up on the floating Aqua Park playing. You can bring a pop-up tent & beach chairs. I highly recommend you bring your aqua shoes. That's all you needed. Life vests are provided.

LOVE Splash-n-Dash Aqua Park!! Friendly customer service and amazing food! Thank you to Louis for being great in the kitchen, Lily for being helpful and having great customer service, and Veronica for being amazing all around from customer service to a friendly face. Will definitely be returning and letting everyone I know about this place.

Clearly asking the park how it works and there was no information given regarding, days - who could use the discount.

I would also love to mention- zippers are broken on the cabanas. The manger walks around with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth - while working and talking to teenage employees.

The place is awesome.... Kids really enjoyed themselves.. all the Staff I dealt with is top notch... I had an unfortunate incident and broke my leg and they where extremely helpful and where on it and did everything right.... Owner should be extremely proud of the staff he has... I will be back might not be playing in the structure for a bit till I get fully healed up but sure will be bring kids back along with friends....

Is there phone service at the park, so I'd be able to find my family when I get there?

Not really. You can pay for wifi service, but cellular does not really work.

Does anyone know if they have lockers?

    No lockers.

    Are dogs allowed?

Unfortunately the owners of the lake do not allow dogs in the day use area. They are allowed in the campgrounds and other areas, but not near any of the beach areas.

This meant peak summer heat with no cooling off. The grounds of our site were not well maintained. The only useable space was the picnic table which seemed fairly new. The rest was overgrown and full of sharp sticker weeds & razor grass. Ticks were also at an all time high, which isn't the fault of the parks, however, that requires maintenance of the sites to mitigate that a bit. Our particular site was also oddly shaped and the photos were misleading. Our driveway was a cliff & very long but the actual useable space was really lacking. The only way I'd recommend this campground is if you are able to book in L loop which has updated electrical & sewer. The bathrooms were horrible. They were definitely not kept up. They smelled as bad as they looked. They were overrun with bugs. It really sucks because this place has a ton of potential... between the lake accesses, the marina, the size & availability... but it just can't live up to it with such poor maintenance. Recommend Mcclure Point instead. We won't be back :(

DECENT CAMPGROUND…read more Growing up I love camping - it's the most American thing to do in the summer. I love nature-sleeping when you sleep on the ground and wake up the next day due to the sun. The last time I went camping was in the summer of 2014 at Lake Oroville. Unfortunately that was the time of the drought. The water at Lake Oroville was so receded you can see where the original shoreline of the lake. I had a good, relaxing time at that campsite. However the water on the surrounding lakes were less than 50% capacity in my estimation. I wasn't thinking about camping again unless the lakes would be full to capacity. During this past winter and spring California experienced record rainfalls that the lakes were starting to get full again. This was the opportune time to go camping again. There were no more spaces at Lake Oroville but my cousin once went camping at this campground. Through my cousin we were able to book 4 campsites where we stayed 2 nights last weekend. The campground is situated between 2 bodies of the water - Tuolumne River and Turlock Lake. The river is located on the campground while the lake is about a mile away from the campground. If you already paid for the campsite you do not need to pay for the admission to the lake as long as you show your car pass from the campground. There are positives and negatives about this campground. The first negative is the grill. There is only half a rack to place your food. In addition the distance between the rack and bottom of the pit is substantial. Unless you have wood the fire from the charcoal won't reach the rack. The grill at this campground is great for smoking meat. I smoked pork ribs on that grill for 2 1/2 hours. I do recommend bringing your own grill if you want to dictate hot fire when you cook. The second negative is the bathroom. Granted most bathrooms at campgrounds aren't clean however the bathrooms at this campground didn't have any paper toilet seats. There are positive things regarding this campground. The shower stalls are cleaner than I expected at a campground. You can get both hot and cold water. I recommend bringing lots of quarters when you take a shower. (Please note you can purchase quarters through the campground manager.) The second positive thing is the river, which cleaner than the lake. In addition since the river is in the confines of the campground you do not need to pay admission for the river. I recommend bringing a specific type of water shoes when you go to the river as there are slippery rocks on the ground. Here are some other observations. The campground isn't very spacious as the campsites are close to each other. The summer weather at this campsite gets hot but surprisingly in the morning this campground is cold. I didn't bring a light summer jacket as I presumed this place would be really hot throughout my time here. This campground isn't perfect but it is a decent place to go camping with the family.

Many people who were not sleeping over left at around sun down. Upon arriving, the park ranger helped us find the campground and informed us of different campsites that were available. We paid $25 for our campsite (#14) and that included the site and one car. We paid an additional $8 for the second car. Our site included a picnic table and a grill (propane or charcoal only). What's really neat about this site is that their bathrooms are clean. They have a women, gender neutral, and men bathroom. The women and men's restroom came with a toilet, sink, and shower. The gender neutral restroom came with a toilet and sink. It was incredibly convenient and nice to use! The site itself doesn't have much to offer. If you're looking for scenic hikes, this is not the place to come to. Bagby sits right on Lake McClure and many families were in there with life jackets, speedboating, and doing all sorts of fun water activities! This is a great place for alone time with each other or just bonding activities! Also, the stars are beautiful at night from where we settled. We were able to locate the Big Dipper and my boyfriend was able to geek out with his constellation knowledge, haha! There is no service here at all, so if you need to contact anyone or do anything work related, I do not recommend. Service cuts in and out on the way to the campground as well-- so if you're traveling in a group/pack, be sure to be following each their closely!

The campground itself is both RV and tent camping. It's right on the lake so it's really pretty. Not too crowded, the atmosphere is pretty chill and peaceful...except when the birds start cawing at 4am. I actually call them "monkey" birds because they sound like chimps. It was really really annoying. I wanted to shoot them all down. Also, I think sounds carry here, because I could hear people snoring from 4 sites down. We got a campsite that's basically on gravel which is not too nice to sleep on if you don't have an airbed. I would have liked a more woodsy site. There's only one bathroom/shower which is layed out kind of strangely, plus the lock was broken, so basically anyone could just walk in & see you on the can. They also don't allow campfires so that was kind of a bummer. But they have picnic tables and a grill at most sites. Fees were reasonable. Overall, it was an ok campsite. Pretty, but would have liked a campfire and better bathrooms.

I didn't swim here, and that's a tragedy. Oh, it was a conscious choice. My hiking partner sure…read moredid, but I had just made the 6-plus mile hike up 1500 feet and was ready for a snack, which turned into a photo stop, which turned into some great shots of the scenery, the lake, the ski hut, and the incredible granite cliffs through the haze of wildfire smoke. So I still had a great visit, but I didn't swim. Not that I didn't swim in any alpine lakes on this trip. Don't worry, I made up for it the next morning. But if I go to Ostrander again, you best believe we're going to stand on the shore, take a deep breath, and jump in those icy waters. It's so so refreshing! It's life! It's living! It's being IN nature and letting the water surround you, and for a brief moment being a part of that ecosystem. There are two trailheads that make the most sense to reach here. Ostrander Lake is the obvious choice, but you could start from Buena Vista and it wouldn't add a ton of distance. But since Glacier Point Road is on a shuttle, it probably doesn't really matter if you just hop on and head up to the Ostrander Lake Trailhead proper. The trail is very lovely. It starts at 7000ft and wanders through some meadowy terrain for a while, and then you get to the little creek and trail fork. From there, you're going to go up. The views are stellar. But let's just talk about this lake some more, shall we? This is not Yosemite Falls. This is not Half Dome, or El Cap. This is very much an off the beaten path adventure, and while I was on the entire hike I only saw maybe a half dozen other parties. At the lake, there was a family there when we arrived, but after a short time, we had the entire thing to ourselves. It was getting a little later in the day (maybe 4pm) and we were pressing on a little to find a place to camp. You can reach the lake as a day hike, but I think it makes a spectacular backpaking destination. Cross-country skiers love this lake, too. In the winter, you can ski in and rent the ski cabin. It's very spartan, but does have a wood fire stove, and fresh water (that needs to be filtered) that comes in from the lake. I don't ski, but I do wonder if you could reach it snow shoeing. They say that it's not for the faint of heart, but just think of that adventure! To come to the snowy, iced over lake and stay in the old stone cabin, look out the windows from the warmth of an historic building, over the vast Yosemite wilderness. Let's put that on the hope and dream list, ya? And then let's take the steps (literally and figuratively) to make it happen! My summer visit, though, was really special. The scenery here is incredible, and you can look up at the massive granite cliffs that surround the back half of the lake and just be boggled at the scale of it all. I'm so glad I took the time to get out of the valley and see this obscure but gorgeous scene. I just wish I would have gone swimming. Let's add it to the list!
