That did not excuse the work or the misdiagnosis, which is why this is not a solid 5 star review. He offered to refund the detailed inspection charge to satisfy me and I agreed. He told me that he would send me a check I asked if he had the address he said yes. I really thought I could give him a positive follow-up for making things right and here we are a month later and I have received the check. He also refunded the charge for what they did fix as part of a good faith gesture which I appreciate very much. The reasons for changing the review to 4 stars are clearly about the integrity of Aaron the owner of Anchor Plumbing. First, not to go into personal details, he shared the reasons he was not available to his team during the repair visit. If he had been available I am positive we would have achieved a much better result. Emergencies are just that. It doesn't excuse the issue. What it does is more important. A small business owner who even looks at the Yelp reviews I have been publishing these many years is reassuring. Especially when we are looking for tradesmen who come into our homes. I do want to say that I appreciate the effort involved in replacing our main sewer line and…read morerecognize that was a significant repair. That said, I do want to express my dissatisfaction with aspects of the project execution. My understanding per the contract and my discussion with Baker Bros, was that the project would take 2 days and included restoration of the yard, with existing grass being replaced where possible and sod being installed in areas where the original grass could not be salvaged. Instead the project extended from last Thursday through Friday of the next week, which was substantially longer than anticipated. Although the plumbing was complete, the backfill, and yard restoration was not. Ultimately, I'm disappointed with the condition in which the yard was left. While I understand excavation work will inevitably impact the appearance of the lawn, I expected the restoration work to be performed with greater care and attention to detail. Some of the sod had been laid over each other or over existing grass rather than being properly cut and fitted into areas where replacement was actually needed. My expectation was never that the yard would look exactly as it did before the repair. However, I did expect the restoration efforts to reflect the same level of professionalism as the sewer line replacement itself. For example, on the first day of yard restoration after I had chatted with a Baker Bros Service Plumber about the yard, who I am assuming to be the general foreman of the 3rd party restoration crew, showed up to my home and I walked out to a group of around 8 men, and he stated, "my boss said you have a problem". But I would've expected Baker Bros to come out to check on the status of 3rd party contracted work. I've used baker bros since we bought our home over 3 years ago and have always had positive experiences; however, this piece was not a great one.

I busted him and his office manager for lying about obtaining proper city permitting (his office manager Laura had the gall to come up with a fake story about a fire at the Plano court house) and doing my job without any permit at all. And the job he DID do was an insufficient Band-Aid fix that addressed the problems temporarily, while charging my insurance company for a full repipe which was a ton of money that he stole. I sent a 3rd party plumber to inspect his work after the winter freeze to ensure that the new piping that I was tricked and deceived into believing he installed due to his scam and fabrication was left exposed for SIX MONTHS. It was at that point we learned that despite telling me the pipes were replaced, he hadn't touched a single pipe. He hadn't done any work at all but took all the insurance money. When I told him what we discovered after leaving my job incomplete and a hazard risk to the residents, he sent people out to do it and the did it completely wrong, with improper, substandard materials and couldn't pass city inspections. I have a ton of documentation and proof of this including a report with two inspections from the independent 3rd party plumber and witness who work at the City inspection office. Do not hire Robert Aguilar Jr., Serenity's the Art of Plumbing or Serenity's Plumbing out of Mesquite or Dallas, Texas. He will defraud you, lie to your face and scam your insurance company. His license (License # 42207) was delinquent because the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners knew about his felonious malpractice, so if you hire him, please be advised that he could be working with an expired and delinquent license and improper / insufficient permitting. He is dishonest, has zero integrity and is not worth the stress of working with. There are far better plumbers out there. I highly recommend Onesource Plumbing. They had to redo all of the work I hired Serenity's for. They are honest, diligent and amazing to work with. Call them and save yourself a tremendous amount of time and energy.
