I tried this salon for the first time this weekend because of the high reviews. I asked for a women's basic cut (a trim and some long layers). The stylist I saw was friendly but the way she was cutting my hair made me nervous because it seemed uneven. She never had me stand up to check the bottom and my chair was never raised so she was looking down to cut instead of straight ahead. I asked several times if the back was even and she assured me that it was. I also addressed the front angles because they didn't seem right but she once again told me everything was correct. I had only booked a cut (not a blow dry) but because of my concern I asked if she had time to blow-dry it so we could check the final cut. She told me she didn't have time (which I totally understand) but there were 2 other stylists standing around and I honestly feel someone should have stepped in to help. When I got home, I dried my hair and unfortunately my concerns were validated. My hair is choppy, uneven and looks terrible. Now I have to go somewhere else to pay to have this corrected. read more

Excellent shampoo and cut from Liz! I've been looking for a place for my hair to call home and I'm so glad yelp led me right to here. I called ahead on a Saturday afternoon in hopes that I would be able to swing by within an hour. The lady on the phone said they would be able to accommodate me so I showed up about a half hour later. I expected a wait. There was none even though they were busy. I went in there with no idea if I wanted to cut my hair short or leave it long and layer it out. Liz made me feel confident about her recommendation and I let her take the wheel. The cut came out great and I will definitely be returning to her for a dye or highlight job too in the future. I had a check-in coupon for yelp but I didn't give it to the lady during check out fast enough. Completely my fault. I recently visited this salon and had a full plan to order my go to my base color refresh and a simple trim. Drew Colors was the stylist I had and was a very convincing force to venture out of my vanilla comfort zone of color. I ended up going a to a lighter shade than my natural color and getting honey brown/blonde highlights. He then updated my cut and evened out my ends so I had a more edgy look. I was definitely shocked with the color change and length but I am in love with the change! I have great color to jump into Spring with and the service was awesome, everyone at this salon was helpful, gracious and fun! read more

I stoped by around midday to get away for a short work day. I decided to get a quick hair blow and a 25 min massage. Since I didn't fully dry my hair prior to work. Hailey did my hair and it's not worth blow drying my own hair because she blowed and hair styled it for me. The massage was Omg amazing, I had Jill for my massage very light and mostly around the neck and upper back. I would definitely recommend usually not over busy and great aroma smells. read more

Got a balayage, cut and blow dry/flat iron by Deborah. The salon was great and they had great customer service. I went there today for an appt with Raul, the guy wasn't even there, even though they said he was sooo booked so i had to mess up my day to 'fit'in....Raul didn't even call to say he couldn't be there for appt!! imagine!! And the salon was empty ...no customers!!! Don't believe the great reviews!! they are either friends, family or phoney which is in violation of yelps' policy so i am letting them know....This guy thoroughly messed up my day...How unprofessional!! he needs another job! read more

I tried Split Endz Salon for the first time based on all the great reviews. Gabby did not disappoint! The salon is clean, friendly, easy to make appointments, and conveniently located. The prices were very reasonable in my opinion, and I tend to be a little on the cheap side, or so I'm told. I saw Gabby who cut my hair exactly the way I wanted it, though I didn't know it at the time. She gave me great advice, didn't shame me for saving a few dollars by coloring my hair at home (you were forewarned I'm cheap), and didn't try to sell me every product on the shelf. I came to this salon on Monday for a haircut. I'm pretty laid back when it comes to my hair but I felt I was very specific with the stylist about what I wanted and even showed her a picture. Needless to say I left the salon wanting to cry. I've NEVER gotten such a bad cut in my life and the worst part is I don't even know if it's fixable at this point. I wasn't going to write a review because I thought I'd give it some time to see if it would grow on me - but after straightening it today and seeing just how choppy and messed it up it is, I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else. I called yesterday and made an appointment to come back in and they wanted to put me with the same stylist. After realizing how bad it really is I'm not going within 50 feet of that salon. The salon is very cute and friendly, with a great staff. I especially love the stylist Noemi! She is definitely the best when it comes to hair color. She takes her time to make sure that the color comes out perfect and that the hair does not come out super damaged, but instead looks healthy. Not only that but I feel that unlike other hairstylists who try to add their own touch to my hair, she truly listens and focuses on what I want and executes it with skill. Scratched my neck with cheap Wahl electric razor. I have very short hair and only about 1/4 of an inch needed to be trimmed from the back and even less off the top. The young lady who did my hair seemed VERY nervous, shaky hands, indecisive, and took an hour to accomplish the cut. She had colored it which took a reasonable time of 30 min sit and 10 min application. I noticed she uses a low end razor which the blade was so dull it scratched my neck in multiple places. Hair dressers need to invest in quality tools not only for ease of their job but for comfort of their clients. Be warned this is one of those "charge for a blow dry" places, which I hate! If I'm paying you 45.00 to literally trim my hair I feel a blow dry should be included. Of course this is just an opinion. Look, if came in just for a blow out yes or even if I had hair thick and down to my knees, maybe..just maybe I understand charging for a blow dry. Not one single woman in the world wants to walk out of the salon with wet unstyled hair! Bottom line is this place does have typically lower prices than the high end salons and no it isn't a "chain" salon.. however it feels like one with the pricing. Great haircut, for a great price! I called about 20 min before coming into this salon on a whim not knowing what to expect. I was greeted promptly and taken right away to get shampooed. The entire staff was kind and courteous. I got a cut with Noemi, she took the time to understand what I wanted and the look I was going for. She took extra special care to ensure my layers were even and fitting my face perfectly! I was shocked to learn the cut was only $25! For starters- my stylist was super nice. Went for a color correction- wanted my natural dirty blonde color but got a dark brown that almost looked black. I was highly upset and it looked terrible to me. After that the stylist started to put in partial highlights.. then I decided to get a full head because they put the wrong color on my hair when I specially asked for my natural dirty blonde! I figured the highlights would lighten my hair up and it did so I was happy about that. The stylist wanted to blow dry my hair but I said no only because that would have had me at the salon for 5 hours so I turned that offer down quick. Down side of this all was that I was there for over 4 hours. My appointment was at 11:30 but got started on at 12 and the color process didn't start till 12:45...... read more

Stopped in today spur of the moment for a cut. SO GLAD I DID!!! Not only was everyone a pleasure to deal with (front desk assistant was very pleasant and thorough) but my stylist Kari was AMAZING! I went in not knowing what I wanted except I knew that I needed a lot cut off. Kari sat me down and actually consulted with me, thoroughly, prior to putting me in the shampoo chair. Customer satisfaction was high on her list and you could tell. She was an absolute joy and knows exactly what she is doing! My hair looks fabulous and we had a great time bonding while she cut my hair. I recommend Split Endz to anyone, near or far, if you are looking for a great cut. I drove 20 minutes to come see Raul and I will do it again. He is a master of his craft. I went from long in stylish hair to a nice long bob. It was a huge change because I usually go for long cuts and I was nervous about it. I came in and Raul made me feel comfortable about my decision and also gave recommendations such as doing a razor cut for an edger look. And I completely agreed. The price is awesome too for the quality stylist they have! Sometimes it's craaazy busy and sometimes it's slower, like any salon or beauty business-it really varies! I came here to get my roots done because my normal hairstylist was sick. Upon beginning I could tell that Liz friendly amd sweet as she was, was very nervous. Upon consultation I asked how much it would cost to bleach and color my roots. She quoted me $50 but charged me an extra $10 because of the density of my hair as well as the extra bowl of bleach she would need. Still not a problem, assuming she was going to pull the color through and not just color my roots. Before we even got started she asked me what number developer she uses. I thought a licensed hairstylist would know that information especially after charging me more for the "density". She began the process and must have asked me atleast 7 times if I needed something to drink, even though i politely declined each time. I also noticed that she backtracked her steps 3 times to make sure the bleach was even Im assuming, which it wasnt in certain spots especially around my face the most noticeable part when my hair is pulled back! Not only had she only done just the roots but it was missing patches in the front. On top of that because she ONLY did my roots and not pulled the color through, I was left with faded ends that were drastically different from my roots. Desperate I ran to sallys and bought the color I normally use to go over and retouch all the spots she missed. Which means I spent an extra $12 on top of the $60 I just spent just to have an even color payoff! Its been a week since I got it done and there are still small patches where the color didnt take this never happens with my old hairstylist. Will not be coming back. read more

First time client and was put into the hands of Raul. We hit it off right away. He is super friendly, lots of positive energy, really listened to what I wanted and looked at pictures of what I liked. He took his time and was very meticulous about getting my hair color just right and making sure I was happy. By the time I left there I felt like I had just spent the afternoon with an old friend and I walked out of there looking FABULOUS! I came across Split Endz here on Yelp, and was convinced by all the glowing reviews. Well, I have to tell you...I wasn't disappointed! I went for a root touch-up and to refresh my color. I was assigned Raul, and absolutely loved him from the gate! He's young, professional and loves what he does! He couldn't get my hair the exact color I wanted it during the first visit (which totally wasn't his fault), but got me right where I wanted to be by the second visit. Don't book on Yelp. I booked and came in. Waited until 10 minutes after I arrived until my hairdresser noticed me. Even though I had checked in with someone when I arrived, no one told her she had a booking so she wasn't ready to do it. I was on a time crunch and couldn't wait any longer as she didn't give me any indication of when she would be ready. I ended up having to cancel the appointment and walk out. I have four kids and this was my first opportunity in weeks to get the time to get a haircut. Now I'm going to have to run into a dodgy Supercuts or something and get butchered. read more
