Always nervous bringing my baby girl to a new groomer. Especially one with blacked out windows and even one negative review. But we're in from out of town and she's been going on multiple walks a day as opposed to just going in the grassy backyard back home so I needed to get her paws clipped down at the very least. This place was close and had enough great reviews that I felt ok with bringing my 9 month Pomskydoodle who had only been professionally groomed 3 times. Well 90 minutes later I was told she was done and she looked fantastic. She seemed happy... not scared like the first time she was groomed at home. I didn't want her washed, (because I had already done so twice in the last month) but I think they did so anyway. But she looked and smelled and felt so good, I was happy with whatever it was that they did. It was $50 (cash only) for what was supposed to be a scissor trim, paw shave, full brush out, teeth clean, and hygiene shave which in my mind was a bit much. But after seeing her I even gave $10 more as a tip. If I were here longer, I'd definitely go back.

I was very satisfied with Connie's service from the phone call inquiry to walking out the door with my clean bully baby. My dog had never been to the groomers, she's nearly 70 pounds and i'm not the most motivated to bathe such a heavy pooch lol. I'm new to Long Beach. Was hoping I could establish a new place to get my poodle groomed on a Regular basis. They were able to squeeze me in this morning, which I really appreciated. I picked her up just 2 hours later. Very fast service. I also appreciated that. When I got her to my car, I noticed that she had a gash on her elbow. It was pretty deep. There was no blood on her fur, so that told me that they new they had cut her and cleaned the wound. It would have been nice if they had been honest with me and taken the time to apologize instead of acting like nothing happened. I would not have been mad. Sometimes this happens, but own up to it. I will not be back

I would definitely give this place 5 stars and I'm extremely cautious of where I take my dogs. I moved to Long Beach from Sherman oaks and just couldn't continue to make the drive every 5 weeks with 2 dogs in my car so with hesitation, yet a feeling of comfort I chose this place and I'm glad I did. They really take care of your dogs! I picked them up today and they had cute little bandanas and their hair looked so poofy and cute! They love to show off their haircuts it's so good for their self esteem to look good!! I have tried one other place in LB and they just didn't do a good job at all which made me hesitant to try this place but rest assured, if you're a diva about your dogs this is the place to go!

We have a 5 month schnauzer and this was his first grooming. I know it wasn't an easy task to get him to sit still and cut his scraggly hair but they did such an amazing job and were fast too! Only about an hour to groom him! They suggested we come back more periodically so he can get used to the groomers. Will be back ! They even gave him a cute bandana!

Unfortunately I had been a terrible mom and let my dogs nails get super long since he will squirm away/fight to the death rather than let me cut his nails. The last groomer I took him to was not able to cut his nails since that is not his favorite thing to have done so they only bathed him and left his long nails while charging me over $50. I called Spoiled Paws and they were able to fit my dog in for a same day bath and nail trim for only $20. They were able to get it done (I am not sure how) and in only 45 minutes, so I will definitely be coming back.

I was calling different dog groomers comparing prices after Yelp reviews, and I got a great price for both . I got lucky that I was able to take them the same day . They were done in less than 2 hours . "wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am"! No bad cuts , dogs look happy not scared. The lady who answer the phone and helped me at the door very nice and helpful. I'll be back . Oh it's on a busy Main Street. I parked on the back parking lot of the subway right next to it . But I made sure I got in and out quickly.

So happy we found Spoiled Paws! Staff is super friendly, helpful and gentle with our dog. We usually take our dog to the vet to get his nails trimmed but they're not doing it due to Covid. I called a few groomers but most required purchasing a full grooming service - which we didn't need. They let me hold our dog while they quickly trimmed and filed his nails...he was not at all stressed or uncomfortable. Highly recommend. read more

I read the reviews a few months ago and was hesitant to go here- actually to go anywhere because our dog is so tiny and I was afraid I would never like the haircut she got. We decided to try them out and couldn't be HAPPIER!!!!! She had a last minute appt and was done in 2 hours. Organic wash, nails, anal, ears, and full cut! Our little 4 lb pomchi looks AMAZING and seriously smells better than my own perfume!!!!! I was worried the cut would be dicey or too short but she looks so good!!!! I will definitely be back and she came out so happy! LOVE THIS PLACE. (I rarely write reviews on yelp, my bf said if you're this happy, I think now you need to write a good one somewhere! :) read more

Connie and Marvin are great! They always take such good care of my Penny. This is the only place I've ever taken her and even though she rather be playing fetch (lol), my baby girl feels comfortable with Marvin and he's always so patient and gentle with her. What can I say that hasn't already been said? Spoiled Paws is exactly the kind of neighborhood groomer I've been looking for. I've been able to get my little guy in last minutes more than once. Connie Ginger was not like this when we dropped her off yesterday. We knew something was up when she dug her nails into me and was whimpering I've read other reviews and your response is the pet has " hot spots" way too often like that's your go to excuse for a shitty botched job. You are rude and defensive and very non caring in your responses to reviews. You come off as "ohh well move on to the next". Shame on you!!! read more

Let me start out by saying this was my very first time taking a dog to a groomer-I have always been a cat owner, but came across an adorable pup who needed a home and a groom desperately. I looked on yelp and found Spoiled Paws close by. Called on Saturday morning and they were happy to help me. I dropped the little guy off looking like a dirty mess and exactly 2 hours later I got a phone call advising he was all ready. What a difference in him! He looked so good! Being the emotional sort, I could have cried. Connie took excellent care of me and the pup, she and her team did a great job. I enjoyed speaking with her, she was really friendly and helpful. Happy to report that the little guy found a home too! If I had a dog of my own, I would absolutely go to Connie at Spoiled Paws. read more

1st timer with my little man Chiko. A really close friend of mine recommended this place. So I definitely went ahead and gave them a call to set an appointment. Chiko went in for a wash and nail trim and let me tell you he came back smelling Good. They also came back home with his rainbow bandana they put on him. He was so happy ! read more

Australian Shepherd owners, BEWARE!!!! If I could post a review without giving any star I would. There should be an icon to represent something less than one star. The pictures I have posted should explain everything. I will add this for non-Australian Shepherd owners: these wonderfully intelligent and beautiful dogs are NEVER SHAVED as a "normal typical" grooming procedure. Connie, the owner, emphatically insists it's a normal grooming. I have had 3 Aussies in my life during the past 35 years, my family also owns several and unless SPECIFICALLY INSTRUCTED, I have NEVER been to a groomer who buzzed my dog as these people did to Ruby (just turned 5 years old). While I was away on vacation, my dog sitter brought her to this shop and was at this groomer's mercy. Connie told me she explained to my sitter Ruby's hair would be cut 2", a "typical" grooming for this breed. Connie's "typical" IS NOT typical, besides washing "normal grooming" includes body shaping (very finely) to include the feathers and mane, a sanitary trim and of course the rest of the "typical"; trim paws, nails, clean teeth, ears, anal glands, etc. I wish they had ONLY taken 2", someone there seriously needs glasses. Of course, my sitter's story differs greatly, she was clear when leaving Ruby that she had no idea what to request and relied on the groomer's direction. Connie has an excuse for everything, she merely pointed out my sitter was a LIAR. She said my sitter was very happy when she picked Ruby up. Ruby's sitter is always happy, she even tipped these dopes because my pet sitter is a lovely person. Actually I tipped these dunder-heads AND PAID for this HORRIBLE HACK job my poor pup will live with all winter, spring and into the summer, will need to buy her a coat for our mountain trips. When her fur does grows back in, I pray it will be the same as before although that is uncertain. I pointed out to Connie she knows nothing about this breed and by the pictures on yelp only grooms small dogs suggesting she needs to keep her buzzer away from shepherds and stick to small breeds. HOLD ON-excuse for that too, she had a picture of a large breed terrier she shaves, of course she couldn't remember the breed. Hmmmm, I wonder if she knows a terrier (big or small) and an Australian shepherd (any shepherd) have DIFFERENT COATS- hair/fur- and are groomed differently. I declined to see the picture- WHY?? BTW: Ruby is seriously embarrassed now, she may need therapy. Not once did she offer a refund but did point out we received a 1st time $5 discount. Yea. Can I have my tip back? read more

DONT GO HERE!! **UPDATE** Look at all the other one star reviews. They do this often, leave dogs burned and terrified. Bitchy shop owner replied to my review below saying "glad you will find another place " and made up lies as to why my puppy was patchy and why she did a horrible job. They gave up half way through trimming her, she has long fur and they used the shortest clippers possible (obviously not what I selected). My dog was never shaved by anyone else. I picked the fur length and spoke at her in detail about what I wanted and that was not even close to what we got. My baby was shaved TO THE SKIN in some places. It's very clear none of them have any clue what you're doing. Would give 0 stars if I could. Just proves my point even more this place is awful and unprofessional. My puppy is very young but her fur grows quickly so she needed a little trim. I was explicit about only wanting a very small trim. They ensured me that's what we would get. Five minutes after dropping her off, I get a call from the employee advising me that my pup is "very squirmy" and they may not be able to trim her fur at all. Obviously she's squirmy... she's only months old and this is her first time to the groomer. I thought professionals would know that. I then suggested to them (which is absurd that I'm advising someone I'm paying for a service) that they should try having one employee hold her while another trims the fur. TWO AND A HALF HOURS later I come back and she's still not done. 15 minutes after that they finally call me in to pick her up. She's a small baby and they aged her 10 years. Shaved her so close to the skin in some parts her entire body was patchy, with some patches of fur over 2 inches long sticking out from surrounding fur that was buzzed to the skin. It was a complete disaster. She had a giant patch of long fur sticking straight up from the center of her head like an alfalfa. They told me that her nail trim would be included but I paid $50 for my 8" long puppy that weighs 5 lbs.. When they handed her back to me she was so excited to see me she started licking my face and immediately scratched me to the point of bleeding. The employee goes "oh watch out her nails will be really sharp!" after she sees this happen. I understand they may need time to dull through walking but every time the vet has trimmed her nails they're never sharp...? And I have definitely never been scratched by her. After all that the lady rudely decide to tell me "not to come on a weekend again because it's too busy to have two employees work on one dog.....lmao don't worry I'll never be I ended up paying $50 for this nightmare and spent the entire rest of the day fixing her fur by hand with a brand new pair of shears I had to buy. She looks much better now but no thanks to this place. Needless to say I will never be coming back. I recommend going anywhere else! read more

First time here today and on short notice my lil guy was accommodated and taken care of quickly (which always is a plus in my book! I don't want him sitting in a cage all day). He already had a short haircut and just needed a trim. He looks fabulous and def less expensive than any other groomer I've ever taken him to (ever!). I brought my cat, Louie, in here to get his nails trimmed and the staff was friendly and helpful and the service was very quick. I would have tried to do it myself but it's hard enough to keep Louie still for as long as it would take me to get his nails trimmed. Connie was very professional with our dog Buck. He received a very good and much needed wash, his ears cleaned out, anal glands taken care of and toenails clipped all for a very good price! When I came to pick him up, he looked so much happier and like a new dog! They even had a fan on him to make him comfortable while he waited. My dog started to be that "smelly kid that no one wants to hang out with" but his regular groomer isn't open on Sundays and is pretty far...so we decided to take him somewhere closer. I read the reviews on Spoiled Paws and I have to say I agree with the good ones! Billy looks fantastic and smells amazing. Not only is it convenient locally but they're open Sundays! Wow Wow Wow! Connie and Andres have left my family speechless! I truly mean it my puppies look amazing that I almost cried. My puppies are a year and few months and have never been too a groomers I would do it myself as best I could with whatever little equipment I had. After this visit I realized why there is professionals that do this great work. My dogs look like show dogs and just look super happy and soooooo fresh. First off, I wish I could give less than a one star review to Connie. I am writing about Connie on behalf of multiple friends who have been here prior and who are also wonderful and loving dog owners. Connie's response to my friends reviews was both disrespectful and defensive. I work with small businesses and I have never seen a business owner be defensive back in a review like I have seen here. I am shocked and disappointed with the reviews I have read thus far and I would hope that you would never bring your loving pet to her care. read more

A friend of mine recommended this Groomer and I'm so glad she did! I love this place! Everyone was super nice and I felt at ease leaving my dog in their hands. My terrier mix was given to me with her coat heavily matted. We drove all the way from Anaheim and it was worth the miles for the excellent job and service they provided to us and our dog, Molly! They always take my beanie boy usually without an appointment. By the time I am done ordering my icky subway sand, walk back and answer some emails. The little red powder keg poochie is finished with his wash, nail trim and gland cleanse. Super nice staff and always put cute triangle material on him and he smells great. All for $20. I made an appointment this Friday to get my dog groomed and I specifically stayed in Long Beach so my dog to get groomed here and then when I show up Friday morning there's a sign that says all my Friday and Saturday appointments are canceled due to a family emergency. I understand things come up however as a business owner it's your responsibility to let your clients know ahead of time so we don't have to waste our time coming to the shop and seeing that I could've made other appointments with other groomers however I can't now because everything booked. read more

The only place I take my dog Joey. Connie and her team are the best. They are patient with my maltese and are very accommodating to his needs. He has separation anxiety and it's not the easiest task to groom him but they do a great job and he always looks so perfect when I pick him up. I love this place and highly recommend it. read more

EL & Kyla went to the grooming area and I set myself up in the waiting area to watch a movie on my IPad. Did I mention they have free guest Wi-Fi? I was also offered beverages several times and checked on to make sure I was well and comfy. The entire staff was friendly & so we're most of the clients. One client even sat and chatted with me while he enjoyed a nice flute of champs. I snuck peaks at my baby girl who looked pleasantly relaxed each time I played spy. It looked like a total spa day for her. When I knew she was almost done I went to the nearby market. I was completely unmissed because when I came back my little girl was still happily vibing with her new friend. I saw people use the self service wash which looked amazingly stocked. I usually self wash my baby somewhere else, but decided she was at a point where we would both benefit from a real groomer. So glad we did. When all was said and done Elli looked amazing! Her double coat was fully blown out! Shiny shiny shiny! Her nails were beautifully trimmed. She came out happy, bandanad, bowed and bedazzled! Total love this for her. Unfortunately, the service we've received over the past several months has declined so dramatically that we can no longer trust this business with our three dogs. When Leah left, the owner, Joanne, personally assured my wife and me that nothing would change and that Maze, Buddy, and Denahi would continue to receive the same level of care we'd always experienced. That promise was not kept. The last two visits were the final straw. On one visit, we were told that senior dogs took priority, which resulted in us not being able to pick up our dogs until approximately 8:30 p.m. On the next visit, we were told cats had delayed the schedule, and once again we weren't able to pick up our dogs until nearly 9:00 p.m. Those aren't reasonable pickup times, especially when customers have planned their entire day around your schedule. Every business runs into unexpected situations. What separates a great business from a poorly run one is communication and accountability. We received neither. What disappointed us even more was the complete lack of follow-through. My wife called specifically asking to speak with Joanne. She was told Joanne would return her call within a couple of days. That phone call never came. No explanation. No apology. No acknowledgment. Nothing. That silence spoke volumes. Loyal customers deserve better than excuses, broken promises, and being ignored. We spent years supporting this business because we believed our dogs were in good hands. Loyalty should mean something. Instead, it felt like once they had our business, our concerns simply didn't matter. The most frustrating part is that this didn't have to end this way. A simple phone call. An honest conversation. An apology. Taking responsibility. Any one of those things could have gone a long way. Instead, we were left feeling dismissed and unimportant after years of supporting this business. We didn't make the decision to leave lightly. Finding a groomer you trust with your pets isn't easy, and we truly hoped we'd never have to look elsewhere. Sadly, Joanne's lack of communication and declining customer service left us with no choice. If you're considering Purrfect Pet Parlor, understand that our experience has been one of declining service, poor communication, broken promises, and a complete disregard for long-time customers. Based on what we've experienced, we simply can't recommend them anymore. We're incredibly disappointed that a relationship built over so many years ended this way. Our dogs deserved better. We deserved better.

Just in case anyone else is reading this that has a one-eyed dog (or any dog with blindness), Tanyss's most recent rescue is a one-eyed dog too, so that made me feel much better :) APPOINTMENT/COMMUNICATION: I called on Thursday but they were closed for a staff event; they got back to me asap by text & I ended up scheduling for Saturday afternoon. Elle called when Lily was almost done (only 30 mins later). Their communication is very quick and clear so if you have any questions regarding services, feel free to ask ahead of time! PAYMENT: They accept cash and check, but you get free enzymatic teeth brushing if you pay cash! My dog is 9-10lbs & pricing depends on weight, but for an all-inclusive flea bath (nails, teeth, blueberry facial, gland expression) I paid less than $50 before tip. That is significantly less than I've been charged at other places. Tanyss even explained that with the rising costs of living, they strive to make such services affordable :) MY FEARFUL REACTIVE DOG: was very comfortable here. When I picked her up, Elle (we share a name!!) was holding her & Lily wasn't shaking?? She also wasn't desperate to leave; she was so chill?? Keep in mind this is the same Lily who loses it if I bring her to a pet store (another place that smells like a bunch of dogs have been there). Do not get me started on the vet--this chihuahua acts like she's being deployed. She was confused when we first tried to enter, & Elle (as in not me Elle) suggested I pick her up so she doesn't get out of her harness, which is TOO accurate bc that exact thing has happened to us sooooooo many times. Elle clearly knows dogs, haha. But when I picked her up, she couldn't be more chill! PARKING: So turns out you can stop at the red loading zone right in front for pickup/drop-off, & Elle even explained that if the police pull up, they'll bat for you as a client who was literally unloading a dog, LOL. I didn't see the text about the loading zone & ended up parked a few blocks down the street, because parking in this area is a struggle. Use the loading zone! Save yourself! From the very first phone call with Signal Hill Pet Grooming, I knew I had found the right place. The receptionist was incredibly sweet and welcoming, making the appointment process so easy. When we arrived, the groomer, Gloria, greeted us warmly, really listened to what I wanted, and immediately understood exactly what my pup needed. When I picked him up, I was blown away. He looked AMAZING--calm, happy, and honestly like he didn't even want to leave. I love that they're kennel-free, so the dogs aren't locked up before or after grooming. That alone gave me so much peace of mind. This was hands-down the best haircut he's ever had. Not a single nick or cut (which sadly has happened at other groomers), and the entire staff made me feel safe, comfortable, and truly cared for. Between a few back and forth we were able to get him in last minute. She squeezed us in day off which we were very thankful of. The place itself was in a mini strip mall with a few other businesses. A thrift/vintage shop, a bar, a few coffee shops, hair salon and nail shop. There's a decent size parking lot but when we arrived it was packed but lucky enough to find a spot. When we walked in, it was a little confusing as it was a vet. The ladies behind the counters were all sweet when we checked in but wasn't sure we were at the right place. Well, it's a vet and groomers on site. It was just a couple minutes wait till Sara came out to greet us. First off, she's such a doll and sweetheart. Very professional and takes pride in what she does. Chatted with here for a little bit about what we wanted before handing over the little pup to her. We were quoted about 2 and half hour or so which she'll call us 20 minutes before hand to let us know he'll be ready soon. Freddie Mercury was in good hand. Picking him up, he was such a cutie. The bathing, cut and grooming was great. Nails were cut and file for that nice finished look. Also he had the cutest little bow tie on which was the little icing on the cake. From the chat on Yelp, Sara explained all the pricing and services ahead of time to give us the breakdown. As it was our first time, she did take good care of us with everything. Total for everything and extra add on including gratuity and discounts for first time, it was just short of 130.00. Price wise for everything was good. It was worth it and her service was very well worth it. Even though we're not from the area and it was a last minute appointment, we're keeping her in our book as we'll be back in town again and know Freddie will be in good hands next time. The place was very professional and clean. There's a drinks section with a mini fridge of drinks and a water station for refilling your bottles and coffee machine. It was busy which is great for them. Sara, a professional and sweet person who has a special skills for what she does. Friendly, sweet and a doll. Highly recommend Sara.

We LOVE Spoiled Paws. Connie, the owner, is GREAT! She genuinely cares about the pets. She has great customer service and the prices are very reasonable. The groomers are THE BEST! Our dog, Molly, did not like going to the groomer....that is, until we found Spoiled Paws. Now, she goes willingly to be groomed and when she's ready to be picked up she is absolutely beautiful. When we take Molly for a walk, people comment on how beautiful she is! I would highly recommend Spoiled Paws to everyone.
