Typical convention center - no outside food allowed and security was tight. Ordered dinner from my hotel and couldn't get it through. Had to quickly gobble up dinner while sitting in the hotel sitting area right next to the event center boarder line. Ordered cappuccino for $7 and fries with chicken is $15 at their stalls. read more

I was here for the Western Regional Oireachtas this weekend. This was my first time in Spokane and I went into it with low expectations. We were told one day ahead of time that no metal water bottles or outside food or snacks were allowed, something that is unacceptable at an athletic event. Everyone brought their own stuff anyway and security didn't give us any issues. The convention center is huge with multiple ballrooms. There are plenty of bathrooms that are kept clean and well-stocked throughout the day. There's a parking garage next to the convention center that was $15 per day for us, not sure if that rate changes per event. There are a couple of food vendors inside the convention center, one doing breakfast stuff and chicken strips with fries and another doing Mexican food. I got the chicken strips and fries today and they were alright. It was $15 for a basket that had a few small chicken strips and a bunch of fries. I would have rather had more decently-sized chicken strips and fewer fries but oh well. My friend got a burrito and said it was good but it wasn't very authentic. I would probably come back here in the future if another event were happening, but I would try to park elsewhere or just walk if I can because parking can get pretty expensive when you're going to an event multiple days in a row. read more

Always enjoy coming to conferences here in Spokane. The convention center has covered walkways to both the Hilton Doubletree and Davenport Grand hotels. The conference center is very clean and modern with friendly staff always available to help you if you need assistance finding a specific room or location. Its proximity to the beautiful riverwalk and riverfront park is a perfect setting to take a break or stroll around during lunch or in the evening. read more

We were at the Spokane Convention Center for a conference. I unfortunately forgot to take photos. I decided to give a middle ground review, because I'm not sure if the lower points should be given to the convention center or the sponsors of the event. The lunch provided was hideous. Bland chicken, and soggy, overly cooked veggies with a side of saltwater rice! I think they must have soaked the rice in the Dead Sea beige serving, it was so salty! The convention rooms were nice. Nothing amazing, but ok. I wouldn't not go to another event there, but I wasn't "wow'd" either. Definitely a solid 3. read more

Recently went to the Inlander Winter Party here and fun it was .. hence, the convention center shares the credit as well .. he he. But as a matter of fact, I think for people travelling here on business meetings or conferences the location is the best one could ask for .. right next to downtown .. a few good places to stay, dine or maybe party :P Well about the Inlander party though .. it was really nice and all .. lot of people and beer and music .. the band sang the covers of old songs and being an old school I enjoyed the Beatles and all they sung .. There was this prize wheel as well .. and we won a whistle .. hehe .. not much of a winning but we do not own a whistle well that worked .. didn't it :D All in all, the crowd was great and made the party as well .. the venue was perfect to be honest and that is why Spokane Convention Center is a wonderful place .. not just for business meetings etc but for fun parties as well. read more

Overall this is not a bad venue. My main gripe is with the catering/concessions while here. No outside food or drink is allowed, so you would think they would at least put some effort in to what they offer. Perhaps they figure since you are a captive audience they needn't bother. When I was here concessions staff were really slow. Friendly enough, but there always seemed to be a long line and several times I saw people get exasperated and leave. And the offerings were rather pathetic. Small sandwiches like you see at 7-Eleven and tasting about as good. Overpriced salads that didn't even compare to a McDonald's side salad for flavor. And $3.75 for a bottle of water??? If I was at a movie theater I might expect that. And not a single warm food item to be had. Our booth rental seemed high, then you figure parking, and exorbitantly priced crappy food unless you want to leave the building. Doubt I will work another event here. And I will encourage others to avoid it as well. It is business models like these that keep me away from downtown Spokane. read more

I've been to this convention center multiple times, on multiple years, prior to the Bloomsday walk/run, to pick up our race packets and attend the running/fitness fair there. This is a wonderful venue, a real class act. The rooms I've been in are all incredibly spacious, there's a ton of light always streaming in from all the tall floor-to-ceiling windows, there's plenty of bathrooms and all are clean and well-stocked... The views to outside are lovely, with vistas of Riverfront park, and of contemporary sculptures out front. The staff here have always been helpful and friendly to me and my family, with no exception. And we really like how clear the signage is. We've never gotten lost in this huge complex (miraculously so!). I can't imagine wanting anything more in a city's convention center. read more

The Convention Center of course is a necessity in such a growing city. I've attended a number of events here and the hardest things are parking, the price for parking, and navigating to wherever you are going. I enjoy the staff and the service though and have been on the back end planning and executing events here too. read more

Recently, I flew over to Spokane to present at a conference held at the Convention Center. One of the best things about this facility is that it only took me 15-minutes to get here from the airport! It's also in close proximity to hotels if you need a place to stay. During my breaks, I walked along the river. Bridges, ducks, and trees. What more do you need? It was a nice change of pace to have such a cool place to hang when I wasn't in session. The facility itself was very clean and staff seemed responsive. I sat at a table for quite some time getting some work done and two staff members continuously (and I mean continuously) walked back and forth ensuring that people weren't coming in the wrong doors. The plenary room is quite large and the breakout rooms were appropriate for a conference. Audio/visual needs were taken care of with great support staff. Why not 5-stars? When I arrived, there was NO ONE (staff or attendees) outside and definitely no signs. It was a ghost town even though the conference was underway. I searched for sandwich boards, read digital reader boards, and looked for any sign I was in the right place. No luck. As someone who is not from Spokane, I had no idea where to go and wandering around in uncomfortable wedges looking for the entrance is not my idea of a great time. Additionally, the food was not great. I know, I know. Catering is a hard thing. Yes. It is. However, there is a spectrum of food along the way and this was not top notch. read more

WOW! No one has reviewed this! I just returned from a very full, busy conference. I was so impressed with the skill and pleasant care displayed by all staff from 6 am the early shift of security, room prep and coffee and food servers to evening when crews had changed. We had 1000 or so people through there each day. Staff was unfailing in courtesy, watchfulness and caring for individuals as situations arose. The food/coffee servers were friendly with lines which never disappeared of tired, hungry, inspired passing through to our meetings. Phenomenal in friendliness and preparation. read more

There are some beautiful views of Riverfront Park to be had from the interior and exterior of the CC. The staff is very friendly with exceptionally clean restrooms. As I'm almost Monk (the character not the religious ascetic) like in terms of my fear of germs, I appreciate this attention to detail. The rooms can be a bit cramped with more furniture than space (or so it seemed), but short of this, the place was quaint and amiable overall. read more

I've attended conferences at convention centers around the country, and the Spokane Convention Center was one of the nicest venues I've ever seen. The open spaces are lovely, full of rustling trees and rushing river views. Have a 30 minute break? Go for a walk, or just go outside to get some air. The indoor common spaces were lovely as well, full of light and space to breathe. The only disappointments were that some of the rooms felt awfully crowded and that the bathrooms were inadequate (but when aren't event bathrooms inadequate?). All in all, a lovely venue. I would be pleased to go back. read more

Went to Sasquan the 73rd World Science Convention here last week. There were many panels and events which they seemed to handle with panache. I was pleased with the quality of the bathrooms which were regularly cleaned. It's such a large venue, it seems like they could handle any event no matter the size or complexity. Easily accommodated our group of just over 500. The food was decent for convention food (pro tip: the gourmet cookie is about 10,000 times better than the regular cookie). The staff was friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to come to another conference at this venue. read more

Nice venue, very scenic along the river. Visited for a conference and you really got a work out locating/walking to different areas for activities. Room numbering is confusing as '301' is NOT on the third floor (it is in an entirely different building) and maps are hard to follow due to overlays. Staff are plentiful and very helpful. Food is WAY overpriced at kiosks and catered food is not good. Plenty of restrooms. read more
