Well.... just to be honest, not sure how I feel but, I came to this place some months ago and it was kinda new and just building it's customer base and had such a great experience cuz the owner who is always out and about came over and sat with us and spent a lot of time explaining stuff to us, so that made it a good experience but when we came back today and the place is still not busy but there was a group of people that weren't black and the owner, again was out and about and he seemed to not with the one black girl at the bar but he did do a lot of mingling with the other people, but then after about 15 minutes, a decent size group came in so I thought to myself, maybe he never came and greeted us because he was getting ready for the group until 2 white women came in and sat at the bar, then he left the group and spent a good amount of time speaking to them and honestly, that's when I realized, he just not speaking to us. And the thing about us going there, was to support and for the experience but now, I felt ignored and honestly there are plenty other places I would have rather went but to be a small business, you should acknowledge ALL your customers! I won't return here because I thought he was a genuine person but what I feel now is that he does not treat ALL customers the same and I want no parts of that. Heads up I don't drink alcohol, so I can't speak to the wines and other drinks they have, but they do have a very large variety and that seems to be the prime focus. But the food was delicious and really fresh. It tasted like it was cooked here. We had the shrimp appetizer and the Sicilian pizza and they were both delicious. The pizza had really good crust, yummy sauce, artichokes, red onions, and pepperoni. I was so impressed with the food when it's clearly a winery. I got a non-alcoholic sangria and it had a wine flavored aftertaste. So I didn't like it, but I don't drink alcohol. It was better with a little sprite added. Very unassuming for the outside. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside it is clean, straight edge and comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We sat at the bar quickly as there were reserved spots all over the room. The owner/sommelier was friendly and easy going. His conversation is informative and shows his depth of knowledge. It is an experience. I am certain it would be a great nite out for a group too. We enjoyed wines we would not typically find anywhere else around the area. We did try the dip duo app with pita points. The whipped feta was way better than the bland hummus. We spoke to a nice man near us and he mentioned that there are many excellent things to order on the menu. Once again S&V did not disappoint. I can't believe that I waited a year to make a reservation after my positive take out experience. It was a few days after my birthday and I wanted to celebrate with family which included my mother, sister and son. We dined there for lunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I mean EVERYTHING was perfect! The food, the ambience, and the waiter, Reid[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. He made us feel so at home and comfortable. He even had my 82 yr old mother deep laughing and when it comes to restaurants she can be difficult to please. When I saw the smile on her face I knew I had made an excellent decision to have our outing here. Don't be fooled by where where it's located. The service made me feel like we were downtown or on the north side. As a south sider I feel a bit shame of admitting that. But kudos to Spoke and Vine for being an establishment that makes the south side a place to be and go. Now the bill was pricey, but isn't everything now? And most times I believe you get what you pay for. Our bill came to about $130 and we all had entrees and drinks, non alchoholic for mommie dearest. I am so happy I stopped in this wine bar. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The lightning and aesthetics of the place makes it welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I went early evening Fri and there weren't many people in there but more started to come in afterwards. Savannah was a great help explaining the wine menu. I recommend the peach and white sangria. I thought they would be sweet and they weren't. They were a nice blend. Now on to this Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese is definitely a 5/5. I'm a hard critic on Mac and cheese and this pleasantly surprised me! I also ordered the margherita pinsa with chicken. The pinsa itself was delicious. The chicken needed a little more seasoning for me. I'm not sure if they boil it but if it was grilled on placed in the oven with the pinsa I'm sure it would've been better. I will be back. read more

Great place to have a glass of wine or craft beer and superb small plates. It was our first time, but will returning often. With 100 different wines you can do a tasting(flight) or you can choose a 2oz, 6oz or 9oz pour. Food was fantastic! first of all, I wanna say thank you for the server very attentive. After spending $300 and having one last drink at the bar, the bartender owner/manager not very attentive. Sitting at the bar, observing that everyone was being served with the exception of myself and my wife. Was very annoying no refills on water no check ups on how was your experience any other service needed?
