A cute farm to check out. Note: there was no restaurant or food truck on at the farm on this date/time we went and there was confusion on breakfast. I recently stayed at this campground after booking Tent Site #6 with power hookup, and my…read moreexperience was extremely disappointing due to multiple service failures, safety concerns, and unprofessional communication. 1. Incorrect Check‑In Instructions The self‑check‑in directions provided were inaccurate. The instructions stated to "turn right toward the barn", but the correct route required an immediate left. After a long drive, unclear directions created unnecessary confusion and delay. 2. Power Hookup Failure & Safety Concerns After setting up my tent at 7:24 PM, I discovered that none of the four outlets were functioning. When I called for assistance, I was repeatedly told to "press the reset button," despite explaining that the outlet was not a GFCI, which is a safety requirement under Tennessee electrical standards. This was not only unhelpful--it was unsafe. 3. Lack of Communication & Delayed Support Between 7:24 PM and 9:15 PM, I made multiple calls for updates: 8:25 PM - Called again because no one followed up. 9:00 PM - Walked to the office; no staff present. Calls went to voicemail, even when selecting the Urgent option. 9:15 PM - Finally informed that no technician was available until the next morning. At no point was I proactively updated, and no immediate solution was offered until I insisted. 4. Poorly Communicated Alternative Accommodation Only after pressing for a resolution was I offered a cabin. The instructions given were simply: "It's the cabin with the red roof and red deck. You can find it on the campsite." I explained multiple times that I was facing Highway 109 and needed clear directions. Instead of providing assistance, the staff member repeatedly said, "You can easily find it, it's the only one with a red roof." After a 10‑hour drive, breaking down my tent in the dark, and navigating a nearly pitch‑black campground, this vague guidance was unacceptable. A basic courtesy would have been for a staff member to meet me, use a flashlight, or at least point me in the correct direction. Instead, I was left to wander the property alone until another camper kindly helped me locate the cabin. To add to the disappointment, the "farm" itself was poorly maintained. The gazebo area was covered in bird droppings, and the netting above it was improperly secured, trapping several birds -- some alive, some dead. The overall environment did not resemble a well‑kept campground. A long‑term guest named Tom allowed his husky to roam off‑leash. At one point, the dog nearly urinated on my tent. He also did not pick up after his dog. The bathroom facilities were equally substandard. There was only one toilet booth and one shower booth for the entire area, both built with noticeably poor workmanship. I have never encountered a campground with such limited and inadequate restroom facilities. 5. No Support During Checkout At 10:14 PM, I called again for checkout guidance and was hung up on. My follow‑up voicemail was never returned. I checked out at 4:00 AM, left the key inside, and locked the door without any staff interaction. 6. Unprofessional Call the Next Day The following afternoon at 3:42 PM, I received a call asking whether I had checked out and how they were supposed to access the cabin without the key. This made it clear that no one had listened to the voicemail I left the night before, where I explained exactly how I checked out and where I left the key. The staff member then made an issue out of not having a spare key -- which raises concerns about their preparedness if a guest ever loses one. When I explained again that I had left a voicemail and followed reasonable checkout steps, she responded rudely, saying: "We upgraded you to a cabin and I hope you are happy being a rude guest," and then hung up on me. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable in any hospitality setting.

We especially enjoyed good, hot coffee in the mornings. The environment, though, was not as shown in the photos. The house is extremely cluttered and somewhat strange, with collections of items displayed virtually everywhere. The furnishings are a bit shabby, but generally clean. Breakfast was sub-par. Fruit was good, but pancakes and pre-fab waffles, unappetizing sausage, and some kind of baked oats mush was just not appealing. The owners are very nice and accommodating, but we would not choose to stay here again. It is the closest to the cave, though, so worth considering for that.

When we pulled up, the owner was on the porch welcoming us into their home. The dinner was finishing on the stove, and the house smelled wonderful. The owners were very welcoming; I felt more like a family member who needed somewhere to sleep while in town than a guest. We chose the most significant room with the best bathroom ever. The owners had a mini-fridge in the place with complimentary drinks. They had wine for purchase, but we had brought our own. I like how the owners didn't mind us bringing our own. They have a beautiful fire pit in the back of the house. The owners offered to light one for us, but we were just too tired to enjoy it. We did, however, appreciate the bed; it was the most beautiful bed I have ever slept in. The linens were like what a penthouse suite would have. It was incredible after a long drive. We had forgotten everything at home, shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. I had no razor, and I was not looking forward to sleeping without brushing and shaving. However, to my great surprise, ALL THOSE THINGS WERE THERE! I was so shocked and relieved. The next morning we got a knock on the door for breakfast. The most fantastic meal was on the table from the freshly cut strawberries to the homemade omelet. I felt again like a family member coming to visit. We walked around the property, and it was beautiful! Every one of the birdhouses had baby birds in them. The porch sits among a picturesque front garden. The little details all around show a lot of love is invested there. We had to leave that morning, and I felt like again, my family was sad. I had to go and want us to come back. The owner stood in the window as we drove off. I will be back to bed and breakfast. My boyfriend and I after being introduced to B&Bs with such a positive experience have decided to not stay in chains ever again. I know why this is a 5 star place and will stay that

They are very hands on, serving breakfast and covering the reception desk. The other staff are also very friendly and helpful. The inn is filled with a lot of memorabilia and old books. It if fun to look at it all. The nice thing is it is well kept, not dusty or moldy smelling. Lots of old pictures and photos. All the rooms have their own bathroom. Ours was compact but had all the necessaries. The room was comfortable. Like the rest of the inn it had old books and other antiques. The bed had a hand stitched quilt. It was comfortable. The light from the street lamps outside was bright so the room was not dark. I do not know what the rooms on the back were like. The television though small got over 100 channels. The train passed by 2 - 3 times a night so I was glad I had earplugs to help. Breakfast was not included and was $10 per person. It was served family style. Scrambled eggs, waffles and bacon served with juice and coffee. They are located off the Mammoth Cave Railroad trail and within 7 miles of the park. If you are looking for somewhere to stay near Mammoth Caves the Grand Victoria is a great option.

OMG! The Cedar Grove Inn is the BEST place to stay…read more Let's just put it out there, most places that are available to rent for either the night or a week are either really seedy or are expensive cookie cutter rooms. At Cedar Grove Inn, not only are the rooms large and clean but at the Inn the love that goes into each room can be seen as you walk in. Every guest room has a large basket of snacks...cookies, chips, granola bars, etc. I stayed downstairs and I had a very spacious, comfortable room. The adjoining bathroom has a walk in shower and a huge claw foot soaking tub. Bath bombs are supplied if you want to take a long soak. There is also a mini fridge in the bath so that you can put drinks (supplied) or left overs in it. The breakfast is delicious. The food in the fridge is available at any time. If you are staying any length of time Kim or Rich will do their best to get it. Kim and Rich also supply beer and wine in the main kitchen so you can enjoy a happy hour before going out to explore Nashville for the evening. The couple are delightful to visit with. Don't be surprised if you see family stop by. Everyone is fun. I stayed a couple of weeks and received invitations to their open house at Thanksgiving and Christmas. I had fun! They raise chickens on the grounds and are certified to to sell both eggs and chickens. The chickens are delightful to watch for a city girl. They are released from their coop late morning and are allowed to free range until dark. I don't usually post reviews of places that I have stayed to but go see Kim and Rich at Cedar Grove Inn. It is an exceptional place to stay.
