Horrible customer service! First time in Seattle, I saw a Groupon for my partner and I- but there were no times listed nor the website was working properly, so I sent them an email. Whoever was on the other side of the computer was extremely rude, sarcastic and short. Told me they couldn't accept my Groupon and was told to go to the website. (Which was not working at the time). Every email he/she would send, they would reply by saying "as I said"... It's very sad that a upcoming company can lose clientele that fast, by lack of professionalism. I will not recommend this place just for that fact. I am a huge advocate for great customer service but sadly some companies just don't care. read more

I was looking for an alternative for the Underground Tour that's located just a block away, and I found Spooked on LivingSocial (90 minute tour for 2 for $18). For the record, the Underground Tour is far better as you really get to travel underground to the old sea level of Seattle. If you're looking for some great ghost stories, Spooked might be for you. Not many things scare me, but I can honestly say my heart was pounding a few moments, especially at the end in the haunted room... I wouldn't do it again, but if you're a first timer and can get the LivingSocial deal for $18, why not? read more

This tour is only $15 dollars and you get a lot of cool history with it. The tour guide was very entertaining and witty. He was knowledgeable and loved answering questions. You get to stop in a bar and get some drinks and sit for a bit underground and take a break from the walking and standing. The tour doesn't try to scare you. It is all about actual history and deaths in the area. The location that the tour ends and begins has a lot of really cool oddities and tarot card readings and a medium that can communicate with spirits. read more

Rai was our tour guide. She made it interesting and interactive. I enjoyed her explanations of ghost stories and then showed us documentary that has been obtained on some of the stops. I'm something of a ghost tour buff. I go on one in just about every city I visit. Spooked offers several tours and I'm going to come back and try a few more. What is different about these is that they are lead by a paranormal investigator. They are trying to be informative and entertaining at the same time. I enjoyed the tour. The stories were not quite as entertaining as some other cities but if you don't have much to work with you can't really do anything about that so I don't count that against them. Everyone was friendly and answered questions and did their best to cater to those who believe and those who are skeptical. I'm looking forward to my next tour with Spooked. read more

My fellow and I are both fans of the macabre, so when the livingsocial deal for the ghost tour came up, we jumped on it. A night out walking around, and some interesting Seattle history, sounded great to us! We had a good time! Sure, we would've loved more information and stories, but there's only so much time allotted and we enjoyed what we got. We would've loved a more intimate group, but we were one giant group of procrastinators who had ample time to redeem the deal, so no one's fault on that front but us! =) Though.. gotta say. If the Spooked in Seattle team would like to visit a real haunted museum of death you all should come over to my house! =D read more

"Turn on that Fa-yun!" Honestly I wasn't expecting much. My friend (who recently moved here from Denver and is getting to know the city) bought a voucher (2/$19) from living social and was unable to go at the last minute, so she gave it to me. I usually turn up my nose at touristy things, but it was free for me, so why not? I have to admit, despite growing up in the Seattle area, I'd never heard most of the stories. Rai was our tour guide. She was informative, entertaining, and her stories were just creepy enough to to give me actual goosebumps. After touring pioneer square haunts, we went back to The Death Museum, which is also really interesting. Death jewelry and death beds and haunted dolls and vintage blood-sucking machines. . . All worth seeing. And staff as knowledgable as encyclopedias. Like did you know funeral flowers functioned as a kind of air freshener because dead bodies reek so badly? Truth. This is the stuff I love to learn but would never think to google. I would recommend this. It's probably a one time thing for most people. I wouldn't necessarily do the tour again, but I WILL be going to one of their ghost hunts. For obvious reasons. --sidebar. So we went to the Friday night ghost tour and unfortunately our tour guide was not the best. We've been on several tours around the country because it's something we enjoy doing, but our guide- he said his name was Bob (not sure if that's true)- was just not the best. He seemed to be really nervous speaking in front of people, maybe he was new? It made it hard to follow the stories. We both enjoyed the stories and the clips he played for us were pretty creepy. It was just disappointing that our tour guide wasn't better. read more

My fiancé and I loved this tour. Ross was a great guide and we were lucky to get him. I will also add that the other people working at the Spooked in Seattle start off point and Death museum were all very informative and they know their spooky facts (they have some creepy artifacts). Back to the tour, Ross was very informative and not full of bogus information and fake stories but actual real stories backed up with real evidence. On the tour we had access to the underground of a haunted restaurant and a few other places. We also loved that he had real photos to share and recorded sound evidence too. He made it a point to interact with all of our group, and even though we had a slightly larger group it didn't feel like we were in a large group. I really think that the guides telling true ghost stories is far better and much more spooky than some random making up a bunch of scary stories that have no truth. We look forward to trying some of their other tours! Side note.... It was like we went back in time and had a young Robert Deniro as a guide! Just an observation! To some of the negative reviews on here that bash the guides...... One for being too perking when asking if anyone has questions (wow... too perky, she was merely trying to make sure nobody was left curious about anything! You get the courage to try and lead a group of strangers through haunted places and let's see how well you do!) and one for saying they should change the name because they weren't spooked.. Seriously those people are crazy. (You would rather walk away being scared by false information??? You probably get scared watching Nightmare on Elm Street and any other movie that is bogus. That fake stuff isn't creepy and you'll end up looking like a fool when you tell other people these fake stories of events that never took place... AMAZING Tour - really learned alot & laughed alot. We decided to take the Haunted Pub Tour & am glad we did as we learned a lot about the seedier history of Seattle (where many of the ghosts come from anyways!). Spencer was our tour guide & he was fantastic - very funny, very easy to hear & was able to answer all of our questions. He made great suggestions to the tourists on our tour along the way & made us feel safe in Pioneer Square. I've taken tours in every city I visit & he was the best tour guide we've ever had. There were many opportunities along the way to sit or to grab a drink (which I really appreciated). You also get one free drink at the end (which is the only bar my boyfriend actually felt & saw a few things so it was the one bar he wanted to leave quickly :-p ). The tour did go underground (which I was not expecting) but not for long (thankfully as it was very hot & humid down there). I liked the opportunity to look at the Ipad (fortunatly we were a small group). If you're not going to see a ghost you might as well be able to imagine one! I'm a Seattle local (born & bred) and really felt that I learned alot on this tour - it is a great history tour. Want to know why construciton on a building has never finished or what some statues represent? Or why you feel a brushing at your neck whenever you sit down in your favorite bar? My boyfriend and I are locals, and we decided tonight was a good night to get out and see a different side of Seattle. Turns out, neither of us had done any of the usual tourist things, like any of the underground tours, so we were so down. We did the underground tour first at 7pm, which didn't feature any of the ongoing hauntings, definitely recommend that tour as well! And then we were actually able to make the 830pm. We had Ross as a tour guide, and also Caree (sp?) as an auditioning tourist. (Which as a side note: She did so great! She looked amazing, had some great things to say, and I found myself really enjoying when she spoke!) Ross did such a great job, too! Really knew his stuff, and captured my attention every time he spoke. He's a professional ghost hunter as well, so that was a treat. He has the coolest stories. (Also, TO ROSS; I found my phone!!! The lil ghoulies didn't get to it at the Merchant Cafe lol) The tour flew by, we were so interested by the history of the city. Everything was so authentic. We haven't stopped talking about it still, and the tour ended over two hours ago! As someone who works downtown in the market, literally dealing with tourists more than the average local, I recommend things to do in our area, and I take it pretty seriously. Our tour guide was great and did the best she possibly could (though I would ask that she maybe cut down on the perky "Any Questions?" at the end of every site visit -- she often couldn't answer the questions and it ruined the spooky mood that the tour was failing to create). That said, she overall did a good job. My main issue was how overly BOOKED the tour was. Our tour was full of rowdy drunks who clearly weren't listening to the tour and made it super difficult for others to pay attention and listen. And this is coming from a twenty-something who is drunk all the time -- even *I* found people in the tour group too sloppy. If I had known how irritatingly packed it would be (it was like seriously 30 people.), I would have booked a full-price tour where the tour guide wasn't super flustered and struggling to keep a giant group of drunks who kept wandering around and off together. I have a bunch of friends who are local and who like to visit Seattle, and I would NEVER recommend them to take this tour. read more

I went on a Spooked in Seattle ghost tour recently and it was a lot of fun. Our guide was Ross, and he did an amazing job. He took us all over Pioneer Square and the newly-acquired Spooked in Seattle headquarters, along with some creepy bars, hotels and parts of the Seattle underground. We were very impressed with Ross's knowledge of Seattle and how he involved the group in his ghost stories. If I am ever back in the area I will definitely look up Spooked in Seattle for another tour! read more

I'm going to start by saying we had our six year old son with us and I'm giving five stars because it was perfect for families. It was spooky for sure but not too scary for young children. The stories were really creepy and true and the length was perfect. The artifacts around the shop added a great creepy touch. Our guide was super knowledgable but kept my young one interested. I did the 8:15 Pioneer Square walking tour with Ross on Friday. Really enjoyed it. I have been on a couple of tours in different cities now and I like the historical and paranormal evidence-based take that this one brought. I am not a big believer in ghosts but am a casual history enthusiast and found the morbid but true tales to be compelling. I also enjoyed the technical aspects. It used multimedia elements, the tour was on-time and smoothly run and Ross was easy to hear and follow. I would recommend to anyone looking to learn more about the darker side of Seattle's history, who wants a provoking presentation on the supernatural, or who just wants a good date idea. read more

My girlfriend and I bought a group on for the tour. We got there about 15 minutes early, which I suggest doing. They have a lot cool stuff there, like a museum, gift shop, tarot card readings. I would definitely consider myself a non believe but that place is the perfect amount of craziness. I mean that with the absolute most amount of respect. Seriously. The tour started. Our tour guy was "Atten" i think that's how you spell it. He kept making jokes about us leaving reviews and mentioning his name. He had a whole comedy routine, I'm not saying he's the next George Carlin or anything but he went out of his way to make the group laugh. Which I definitely appreciate and that's why I'm writing this review, oh and yes that's why tipped him 5 bucks. Yes. You should tip tour guides. If you tip some clinically depressed person in a green apron to pour you a cup of coffee.... you should tip your tour guides too. Anyways after a brief "seminar". We hit the streets! Went to a few buildings, went to these cool restaurant and even went down to there "haunted" part of the underground. Our guide was great about keeping the group together and no one got hit by a car, that's something, right? But mostly I loved all the history I learned about Seattle. My girlfriend was extremely happy with the tour. I'd recommend this to really anybody. Would be great for tourists and even locals. I mean, I've lived here my whole life and I learned an insane amount about Seattle. I LOVE ghost tours!!! I try to do them in every city I visit but this tour was by far the most disappointing. Our tour guide was not engaging and lacked basic storytelling capabilities. He was knowledgeable about local history but could not weave that into the fabric of a relevant ghost story or haunting -- a critical success factor of other ghost tours I've done. Usually I find these tours riveting. The Seattle Ghost Tour was boring at best. I mentally checked out halfway through the tour and physically checked out (meaning I walked away) from the last 15 minutes of the tour. It was not worth my time or money. Stay away! read more

It's not fair I took so long to write this review. Spooked in Seattle does and amazing job of providing a though provoking look back into Seattle darker past. They aren't taking you on a ghost hunt, at last not the tour we took. It's an easily walkable tour that stops at the sites of some well known and lesser known haunts in the Pioneer Square Neighborhood. For history buffs, you are in luck. If you don't learn something new on this tour, then maybe you should apply to give the tours because there is a lot of information and things to see. There new historic underground digs are awesome. Part museum, part event space and unique gift shop. I cringe at saying "gift" when it's more of a reference and oddities that you might be interested in adding to your collection. Our tour was on a night that it rained a bit, and in Seattle that just added to the charm. Wear comfy shoes! Seriously people no spiked heels. The guides are full of information and really love questions. Our guide arrived in early 1900's attire and was able to give our group access to places that the public wouldn't normally be allowed on their own. This is VERY worth your time! The real big thing to acknowledge here is that this tour is unsafe. Our tour guide didn't turn back once to make sure everyone was together and several members got lost. After half of us were stranded at an intersection, we had to run a block to keep up, missing the next talking point. The thing that really got my goat was that we stopped in front of this large building to talk about the many many deaths inside. The building itself was deadly because it is substandard housing where the most downtrodden in life have to take refuge. Our tour guide stationed us in a park surrounded by camped out homeless, drug addicts, and prostitutes. I had to pull someone else's child over to me because (I kid you not) five feet from me was a man shooting heroine. Our guide made no acknowledgement, no attempt to keep everyone together, and we had absolutely no business being in that neighborhood. Pioneer Plaza can be sketchy and any lawyer will tell you that two bail bonds offices in a 1 block area is not a safe neighborhood. The tour itself was a snooze fest. It consists of standing across the street from a building (you won't go inside) and being told some people who work there (whom you will not meet) had some weird stuff happen to them so it must be ghosts. We got stopped several times on the street so our guide could show us some stuff on an iPad, so if you like huddling around an iPad for 90min, go for it. I did learn some neat stuff about the development of Seattle, but that was all in a room before we even went out on the tour. All-in-all; not fun, sketchy neighborhoods, and disingenuous tour guides who hear some white noise on a digital recorder and think their talking to the dead. Just saying the words "we aren't responsible" doesn't excuse a company from accidents without any of us signing a waiver. Don't waste your time nor money. read more

JEROME!! My wife and I went on the 8pm tour on a Monday night and were lucky enough to have our very own personal guided tour. We don't think it had anything to do with quality, but just because the city had a pretty dead week. Jerome was our guide and he did an awesome job. The tour quality did not suffer at all just because there was the 2 of us, he obviously cares a lot about his work and is dedicated to making a lasting impression on his guests. The tour itself was well put together and we learned a whole heck of a lot about the city, more that what is just haunted. It was a little bit creepy though. I like how they incorporate the underground portion which apparently is a new addition. OK, bottom line, do it! Take the tour and have an open mind if you want to have some fun tonight! read more

The tour was informative on both Pioneer Square history and the field of paranormal investigation. The guide was truly passionate about his life's work on the afterlife. I would recommend this to anybody tourist or local, wanting to learn more about the city's history and maybe even meet some actual (spiritual) remnants of that very history. A friend and I went on The haunted pub tour and I was very pleasantly surprised. I am from Seattle and I learned a lot of things I never knew about the buildings and their history. So it was great he didn't only talk about ghost stuff. Ross was a great tour guide! I loved the way he told the stories and used his Ipad to add photos to them. He was very sincere, he didn't try to scare us or make things up. I would recommend this tour to everyone, whether you're from out of town or lived in Seattle all your life. I wish I had cash on me to purchase his book or donate to AGHOST. As for what a previous reviewer mentioned, there is walking as this is a walking tour but I am definitely not in shape and I did it with no problem. I attended this because my friend had saw and bought this off of google offers. It was two tickets for 16$, half price of the normal rate which was cool. I give this tour 4 stars because it is incredibly hard to reach someone to inquire about questions or reservations via the phone number listed. I believe when calling, you're speaking with the man himself, Ross- the ghost hunter. We took the 815PM tour and met at Ye Olde Curiousity shop. From there, he checks and collects our vouchers and / or tickets and we proceed. We make our way to pioneer square walking on Alaskan way and he begins with a story about Ivar. The ghost stories he tells you are as follows: Ivar of Ivars restaurants Ferry to Bainbridge The Pioneer Square Hotel The underground vault The Mutual Life Building Merchants Cafe The tall white office building (forgot the name) And at the end of the tour, he will bring you to the Spooked in Seattle building to your his own part of the underground. His own section of the underground is unique from the underground tours underground because he tried to restore it or keep it the way that it would have been in the late 1800s. His part is obviously not retrofitted with a whole bunch of iron beams so it may be a bit dangerous, but his section is also supposedly haunted so who wants to stay down there anyway, haha. Overall, the tour was very informative with Seattle's history and hauntings. A plus is that he's a real ghost hunter and none of the stories seemed truly fabricated. He even plays real audi recordings for you of his own encounters which are a bit freaky. I did do the underground tour earlier in the day though and I noticed that some of the information that Ross gave differs from my underground tour guides variation. I would say that if you're in Seattle during the time of the ghost tours, definitely do one. He doesn't purposely try to scare you or anything but the whole thing was pretty fun- and cheap. read more

As soon as we walked into the building the ambiance was great! The tour guide was very informative and had lots of information about the sites we were seeing. The tour guide also brought along an iPad and a very loud speaker which showed different historical pictures and videos which one along with the sites we were looking at. We loved her era garb. Aten was my tour guide for my first visit here, and as much as I wanted to discuss the works of Bauhaus and Joy Division with him, I was content to listen to his stories of history and haunting. He was excellent at bouncing back and forth between upbeat and amusingly morose. Having moved here from Ohio, I always wanted to get involved in ghost hunting in the area, and he inspired me to inquire joining as an investigator. I recommend taking this tour in conjunction with the Seattle Underground tour as the first will give you a good history of the city and Spooked gives you all the things no one wants to talk about. Our tour guide, Jules was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and supplemented her facts and stories with photos and video on an iPad. The tour doesn't involve too much walking but I feel that we covered quite a bit in the 90 minutes. It was interesting to hear all the stories, see the photos and see the sites.
