As a single woman I need all the help I can get. Besides teasing me that I need to upgrade to a Harley, Sporttech has consistently had my back on any issues that come up. I'm close to the shop, (so I even get pick up service). I'm comfortable and confident my bike gets what it's suppose to and for the most part a little bit more..They work closely with Road Rider, so tires and special parts are done quickly. Had my motorcycle serviced here a few months ago. They did a great job - the bike runs better than it ever has before. Their charges, I felt were on the expensive side and they could have been a little more responsive about questions/queries, but they definitely know what they are doing, and I was quite pleased with the outcome. I brought my bike in for a leaking tire, planning to get it replaced or repaired if possible. I had tried the water trick to find the leak but I didn't have any luck -- my mechanic (Joe) tried it again and was able to find it, and later took the tire down the street to have repaired and re-mounted. In the meantime, I asked Joe to go through the bike for me and find some other maintenance items that I'd need to do soon. Main things on the list were new chain, rear brakes and throttle freeplay. Joe fixed my throttle freeplay in about 30 seconds and my chain was painlessly repaired the following Friday during my lunch break. Joe respected that I was coming in from work and did his best to work fast so I wouldn't be late getting back. No surprises during that repair, either. And when he told me that my rear brakes were mostly shot, it wasn't in a you-will-die-on-your-way-home-if-you-don't-do-this-now kind of warning, which was appreciated. But it's still on my radar, and I'll probably be back in to have them done in a few weeks. The bottom line is that this is a friendly group of guys, who genuinely enjoy working on these bikes. When I think of mechanics, I think of gruff guys who get pissed when you ask questions about the work. Not Joe. He enjoys sharing his knowledge, and getting his work done with high quality. Big rob, rafael, joe best mechanics ever as well as good people.Simple, straight forward, no hidden work. Best shop I have ever been too. 5 stars for quality and quantity work. Excellent diagnostic skill ( I went in they test drove it and boom carbs need to b cleaned blah...blah blah...not gona bore u), finshed job on time and put bigole smile. On my face. Overall if you are looking to get your bike inspected, diagnosed, svcd, this is the shop that you woud like to bring. If possible I wud give em 10 stars but till thn 5 stars from me. I don't take my bikes or cars to shops but cuz of my wrist injury I was unable to wrk on my bike. I happened to meet one of Sporttech's mechanics on a ride to Aptos a few years back. He gave me their card, and since he had the same ninja as me I figured they should know well how to work on these bikes. I've been back several times for service/repair and always been very happy. The bike's engine always comes back sounding like it has a brand new warp core. On the last regular maintenance, for which they charge a flat fee, every single valve needed replacing (a first from what they said). They did it without additional labor charges, despite the fact that it must have taken many hours extra. I'll continue to take the bike there even though it's nearly 2 hours for me to get there by public transport for pick up/drop off. read more

As I'm writing thisSporttech has my 2006 R1 and are currently rebuilding the whole top end. they have done a fantastic job of keeping to the deadline and price they promised. Rafael has been awesome since the beginning answering all my million and one questions and Rob has been a great help too in letting me know exactly what needs to be done. the last mechanic I went to left such a bad taste in my mouth that I didnt have much faith in local mom and pops shops anymore but the guys at Sporttech have definitely restored that. I've been to this shop several times for service. They have great customer service and explain many aspects of the repair for those not familiar with the technical stuff. Their charges are reasonable and much better than service from the stock dealerships in the area. They are located very close to a motorcycle parts store that helps expedite the entire process. Absolutely great customer service. I called them on a Monday, even though they're closed on Mondays. I had overfilled my motorcycle with oil and needed them to drain it. Luckily one of their employees, I forgot who, was there on his day off and offered to drain it for free. When I asked how much I owed him, he let me off for free. OK, I finally decided to get my 45 year old bike out of storage and get it repaired. Rob at Sporttech was recommended, and I now know why. They diagnosed the problem, took two weeks and Rob said it came to him in the middle of the night. Understand, this bike is older than they are. One of the mechanics told me he has to call his dad to find out how the oil filter worked. They obviously like what they do and are up for a challenge. My '98 Yamaha yzf600 was running rough after sitting in the garage all winter. First place I brought it too (well known dealer on El Camino) told me the carbs needed a rebuild and I was looking at minimum $500 plus parts and couldn't fix for a week. Found out about Sporttech after reading the YELP reviews and brought the bike right in. Rob, the owner is a really great guy, smart and really knowledgable about bikes. The bike was ready to be picked up in two days and cost a little over $400.with parts. They even checked my cylinder compression as a courtesy. Bikes been running great, I can't recommend these guys enough. If you want to get poor service and overpriced repair there are many bike repair places that will be happy to take your $$$. 10/31/2017. Cowabunga! I've been riding motorcycles for 53 years and have encountered a lot of motorcycle repair shops. But none like this one. The personnel there usually range from indifferent to curmudgeonly. At this place you find yourself greeted, informed, and helped to a degree previously unknown. They diagnosed my problem (a bad rear brake rotor) very quickly and ordered the parts right away. I brought in my 1998 Honda Valkyrie this morning and they did the replacement in 90 minutes! Sporttech believes in servicing it's customers to the fullest extent. Raphael is the greatest ever. I've been coming to this shop for a couple years from a referral. Last week the clutch cable on my 2006 Kawasaki Ninja 636 snapped on my way to work in the morning. I was stranded on El Camino in Palo Alto and my current insurance, State Farm, does not provide emergency roadside assistance for motorcycles. Instead of paying out-of-pocket (which would have been super expensive), I called Raphael and he immediately mentioned that he could pick up my bike for only a 1/3rd of the price that State Farm quoted me. I couldn't believe it. An hour later, Raphael shows up with his truck and off my baby goes to get fixed. He charged me a really fair price for both the tow and new cable. I recommend Sporttech for all of your motorcycle services. Not many mechanics believe in providing excellent customer service but Sporttech will never disappoint. read more

I love taking my bike here! I was taking to another shop out near Santa Clara and wasn't really sure about their work when a coworker told me about this place. Once I was here there was no run around. They feed you straight answers and go over what they are going to do, if there is the slightest change they make contact with you and give you all the options. When the work is done they keep the old parts to show you what was wrong with them and then go over what could have happened if it got worse. They are prompt and just down to earth bike guys. I was told they can squeeze me in and out in no time. They also looked over my bike to let me know what might need to be changed or to keep an eye on. Woohoo! As good as it gets! YES! Totally. My first motorcycle in US and I didn't do a good job in taking care of it. But the guys up at Sporttech were awesome!! This the best shop in the south bay, bar none! The mechanics are super friendly and personable.. unlike a lot of shops that will turn their noses down at you if you aren't a motorcycle expert. I have a used 08 Yamaha r6, and these guys fixed it up and repainted it in no time flat, and for a great deal too. They always go the extra mile to take care of your bike and to prevent problems from reoccurring... to satisfy the customer. When my headlights went out, they found a great deal on a HID kit - swapped it out, sealed the electrical, and helped me change the oil (first bike) for a great deal. These guys are the best and definitely my go to mechanic for all my motorcycle needs! read more

I just purchased a 2013 Ducati Grand Turismo Multistrada and had Rob and Joe at Sport Tech installed a full Termignoni exhaust system. I have never left a YELP review before but I was so impressed by the great customer service and expertise of this motorcycle shop that I felt compelled to write an review. This shop completely cares about their customers and improving the performance of their motorcycle. I have been an executive in the motorcycle industry with Tucker Rocky, Custom Chrome, and as the CEO of Ducati North America and I have personally worked with thousands of dealerships and shops. All I can say is Sport Tech is passionate for the sport! The new exhaust on my motorcycle completely improves the performance and my enjoyment of riding. I have a 2008 Ducati 1098S and I needed to have "some exhaust tuning work completed" Dealers won't touch this type of job because of strict emission regulations. I was given the name of Rob and his company. I purchased the necessary parts and had it put on hold at the dealers. I dropped my bike off at Sport Tech and Rob 1st did a full Dyno analysis of the bike and then drove me home and then went to pick up the parts. Rob completed the "tuning" in less than 2 days and did several more Dyno runs to compare before and after. Rob and his employees will treat your bike as if they owned it. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with his company and service and highly recommend this business for all your motorcycle repairs and service. read more
