Stopped here for lunch by myself last week. I was kicking myself for never checking it out before when I previously lived in Maple Valley. Ordered the chicken vermicelli bowl with a spring roll, which is my usual order when I visit Pho restaurants. The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly, with a nice char on it. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the lettuce was fresh. The dressing was on spot, and I don't get that excited over spring rolls, but this was the best spring roll. She simply shouted at us from across the restaurant to take a seat and plopped the menus infront of us. Maybe she was having an off day so we let it slide. Came here for dinner with my mother, it was fantastic! We both got fried tofu veggie pho, she got veggie broth and I got beef broth. We both thought it was really good. So normally, I like the food, I feel like every time I get food from here lately within the last six months or more the quality has got less and less and this is a place I go to once a week for myself and my daughter. Thought I would give this place a try. During Covid, this place kept cleaned and the tables are wiped with disinfectant every time it. The service is good. I only took the photo of the garlic fried tofu. One of the best fried tofu I have ever tried. The pho broth is pretty clean. Taste good. I had beef and tendon extra large. I had good amount of the noodle but I think a few more pieces of meats would be better. I totally good understand business is not easy nowadays. The menu is big with teriyaki and Chinese food. I can see why some of the comments are not too positive when it comes to other cuisine. Maybe just focus on what you good at? Who knows. Maybe someone else like them. The pho tasted average and chicken in it was totally old and didn't taste good. Veggie broth wasn't good either. The fried rice both chicken and veggie was so bland and had almost nothing in it. I love Vietnamese fried rice but this was absolute disaster , had 3-4 scoops of plain white rice . The appetizer plate seemed reasonable but I liked only the coconut shrimp and spring rolls others were like bone dry . Got mango and taro bubble tea, both didn't taste good. Sad to say this restaurant has changed and it not good. My wife and I have eaten there many times before and dropped by for a meal. My wife ordered the Stir Fried Lemongrass made with pork and steamed rice. What she got was completely different than what they used to serve. The listed ingredients were out of balance with a huge amount of undercooked green bell pepper and nary a trace of carrot. The pork was not stir-fried and tasted pre-cooked. It wasn't served Vietnamese style but Chinese style with the rice on the side. My dish was a similar sounding Lemon Grass vermicelli bowl with pork. Once again, this dish had no resemblance to what the Spring Kitchen used to serve. The pork portion was just plain stingy and the pork was not grilled and tasted re-heated. The veggies were OK as were the noodles, but the seasoning was weak, even with the fish sauce added. I hope for the sake of their business they read this review and do something about this disaster. We can't justify spending over $40 for a dinner this poorly prepared. read more
