Very close to where I live. This place is directly adjacent to Starbucks and Papa John's Pizza. Very adequate parking and a great looking restaurant when you walk in. I ate here on a Saturday afternoon and there was one other party when I arrived. By the time I left the place was full. My server was very warm and welcoming. She was attentive and kept my water glass topped off and checked in frequently. I started with the fresh roll prawns that featured vegetables and prawns, wrapped in rice paper and served with warm peanut sauce. The warm sauce was a nice touch and you could tell that these rolls had been made fresh. For the main meal I selected Phad Kee Mao. Expertly prepared, if featured wide rice noodles and several stirfry vegetables, including broccoli, eggs, carrots, onion, bell pepper, and fresh tomatoes. Every time I am back in the Seattle area I crave Thai food as AZ did not have good Asian food. We chose this place as it was close to where my grandparents live. They have a nice dining area and dark ambiance but it fits the vibe. We started with the pot stickers. It came with 6 and they were delicious and perfectly crispy. It also came with the amazing dipping sauce on the side. I had the chicken and shrimp fried rice. I paid extra to have both but not terrible. The shrimp were large and not fishy; they were cooked well and easy to get the tail off. The chicken was also delicious with no sketchy pieces. I loved the fried rice. It was incredibly flavorful and mildly spicy. I asked for 3 stars but definitely could have done 4! The only thing I didn't like about the fried rice was the immense amount of onions. Thankfully they were large enough to easily pick out. My grandma had the cashew chicken, which was phenomenal. The crispy garlic chicken was breaded and so good. The Currie was also fabulous. My family and I went back there the day before Thanksgiving. I have to say service was not great at all! The lady who handed us the food didn't even look at us. She just drop the food and go. They gave us the check when we were waiting for our last dish. Instead of apologizing, they asked if we still want our food. The other girls try really hard but they definitely need more training. The restaurant was steady with customers, with a few other parties dining in. The menu wasn't huge; but it had enough items to choose from, including lunch specials that featured a classic entree, which came with rice and phad thai. I ordered a Thai black coffee and the golden noodles, which were yellow curry noodles with veggies and ordered mine with chicken. The food didn't take long to get, and it was pretty tasty. I loved the curry and egg in my dish, which was perfectly mixed with the wide noodles, veggies and chicken. I also ordered mine with four stars, which seemed to be a good amount of heat. The Thai black coffee was refreshing. Overall, if you're looking for some classic Thai food in Maple Valley then the name says it all at Maple Valley Thai Cuisine. We moved to the area recently, and I had been wanting to find a new favorite Thai spot. Didn't think I'd find one THIS good. I don't know what took me so long to try it! Walking in, the restaurant is VERY nice - not what I was expecting for some reason. It's cozy, dimly lit, feels higher-end with lots of wood detail, roomy larger booths for big groups, jazz playing overhead, very clean. The menus have excellent pictures of the dishes, so you aren't left guessing or relying on customer photos online. Reasonably priced dishes. Service was fast and friendly. I was surprised they weren't busier on a weekday at dinner time - though I did notice many to-go orders being picked up. My husband nearly always orders fried rice at Thai restaurants, but I forced him to go with something new that looked tasty - crispy garlic chicken. It looked just as good as the pics, AND TASTED AMAZING. He was VERY happy with his choice, and ordered a side of jasmine rice. Ate every bite. We also ordered the fresh rolls w/ prawns - as we do at every Thai restaurant. I loved them, but the hubby has a texture issue with certain noodles, and these were a bit "gummy" for his taste. LOL More for ME! (they were good!) I ordered my standard Phad See Ew w/ beef, 2 stars. SUPER tasty! ... just typing this up, I'm salivating and ready to go back for more! I ordered the Panang Curry and was excited to try a new place. I was shocked by the very small portion size. See the photo attached. For $20, I got a tiny serving. Compared to other places, I always get at least double this much for the same price. The curry itself has great flavor. I saw a sign that said takeout only due to short staffing. I assume they might be having a tough time; however, the cost/serving ratio was way off. Also, I kept finding little black things in my curry. Kind of looked like little thin plastic pieces, unsure. AMAZING. We actually got it twice in 2 weeks The pad Thai was not too sweet or tomato-y like some places - great flavor and I loved the thin rice noodles. 2 star was a perfect amount of spice for me. My two year old even loved the food - he had Thai fried rice. My husband always gets pad see ew - again great. And the crab wontons only last about 5 minutes they're so good. My sister went to this restaurant for a night out just to be handed the check right at 8, and as soon as she walked out, her server came out and harassed her about not tipping. When my sister asked if tipping was mandatory, the lady proceeded to say no but still counted on her rant. After a couple of minutes, my sister asked if what she wanted was a tip, and the lady proceeded to say no again but kept on her rant. My sister wanted to end the interaction, so she asked for a pen, to which the lady handed her one, and as soon as my sister left a 2 dollar tip, she walked away!! This is unacceptable. What if it was someone who doesn't have the luxury to leave a tip? Would this lady just go and make them feel bad? Tipping is optional!!! I don't know what people think to go harassing people again. I chose not to tip because of the service, and then the lady came outside, yelling at me and asking why I didn't tip. This was our favorite place for years but after countless refusing to answer the phone an hour plus before closing or refusing to take phone orders and saying we have to come in to order, then trying to refuse the in person order and getting hung up on because they don't want to take more orders I think we are ready to move on to a different local place. Great place for Thai food! Their Tom Kah soup with prawns is my favorite over here ! I also am in love with their crab fried rice, although this last visit it was extremely spicy and pretty much killed the flavor because of it ! But still I would order it again, just not so spicy. We love this spot. It is a must for my parents when they visit from Canada. A point of warning- if you are spice sensitive, even two stars can be uncomfortable. We have been going here for a few years pretty regularly, but lately even two stars, which in the past was a medium spicy, has actually been too hot to enjoy. (Maybe they have new cooks? Not sure) The crispy chicken is awesome. The Maple Valley fried and pineapple fried rice are a fan favorite for me. Pad Thai is good. We haven't had anything we haven't enjoyed. read more

I received the absolute worst chicken padThai ever at this place! I went in and ordered my meal for carry out. I told the lady who was working. I wanted three out of five stars no sprouts and no carrots. I get home open up my meal. There is no spice at all, it's riddled with bean sprouts. I called the restaurant to let them know and the lady made excuses saying well. We don't make anything really spicy. If you want extra spice, you can get on the side! I have ordered chicken pad Thai many times at other places and each one of those places had spice. I would not recommend this place. I wasted $16 plus a tip. But the last straw was a price of wire in the chow mine that lucky no one swallowed. I went down to talk with the manager and was told I would have to have brought all the food with me to get a refund. Luckily I had a piece of the chicken with me and the wire. A statement was made that they "handed the rice to us". Why would I lie about $2 worth of rice? They only refunded me for the dishes that were bad - which is fine if you are a three star restaurant. I've been coming to this place for years. Their food is wonderful. Service inside can be slow at times. I utilized their online ordering function tonight and got confirmation back that it would be one hour until it was ready as it's Friday night. Makes sense. I got to the restaurant 10 minutes early to find a lobby full of people waiting for to-go orders. I checked in and was told that they were busy and my order would be another 30. That's fine... I'll wait. During this time I've seen tons and tons of people complain, cancel orders and continue asking for the status of their order. Inevitably I ended up waiting 10 minutes shy of two hours. A few things to unpack here. As a business, you should not continue to allow for online/phone orders to be placed when you are backed up not only inside your restaurant, but with a lobby full of angry customers. Definitely provide more support to your younger employees working the front having to deal with the brunt of some rude customers expressing their anger. They should not be verbally assaulted without manager/owner support because your kitchen is ultimately understaffed. Will try again on a weeknight before deciding whether or not this is no longer a viable option in the future. Disappointing read more
