Appetizers and banh mi menu (5/26/25)

My boyfriend and I are were looking for some lunch specials in Renton and mu boyfriend chose Fortune Noodle House out of the options that I had for him. We arrived here and there was only one other table occupied. We were greeted by the cashier/hostess/waitress who let us pick our table and dropped off some menus. I noticed the lunch special menu wasn't included and had to ask the waitress if they were doing a lunch. She brings over the lunch menu and tells me that they only have combo 2 and combo 3 so I went with my combo three while my boyfriend got the Single Dinner combo 2. Our entrees come with a soup which I thought would be a simple soup but we were provided what taste like a Vietnamese soup that came with some noodles, meat, and vegetables. It was delicious and not too spicy that even my boyfriend enjoyed his portion. The food came after several minutes and it was just okay. The sweet and sour chicken tasted off, the meat just felt really off. The phad thai for me was not really flavorful and it was really clumpy which I'm not a fan of. The crab rangoon was delicious though. My boyfriend's beef lumpia was pretty tasty and he said the Mongolian beef was tasty but agreed with me about the sweet and sour. The portions are pretty big for a lunch special but it just wasn't good. The waitress never checked on us after dropping off our food which was unfortunate as we needed water. The inside was nothing memorable either, they barely have any decorations or any attempt to give the restaurant an identity. They had a large flat screen TV playing views of different tropical islands but there was no music. After we got our food, the waitress turned on a very loud fan and I wasn't sure what that was all about. Overall, don't think we'll be back as the only thing really good was the soup and appetizers which should not be the case for a restaurant.

We ordered delivery here because I was feeling under the weather and craving soup, and prices are decent here. We ordered the Tom Yum Talay, Shrimp Salad Rolls, Fried Egg Rolls with chicken, and Thai Honey Chicken Breast. We enjoyed everything, everything was tasty. The Tom Yum could have been more sour, or maybe not enough tamarind. And I ordered that 5 stars, and my bf ordered the Thai Honey Chicken Breast, and neither one was spicy or had a bit of spiciness at all.

This place has been in my neighborhood for quite some time. I was starving for Pho and didn't wanna drive a few more miles so I decided to try it. I was not disappointed. It is a smaller location probably only has about nine tables. But the menu is packed full of a lot of different things ranging from Vietnamese Thai and other others. I of course, ordered the beef and some shrimp spring rolls. The shrimp spring rolls definitely were handmade fresh. And even though they didn't have all of the other extra ingredients like cilantro or cucumber, they were delicious. The fuck came just shortly after piping hot. I did enjoy the quality of the meat. It was not fatty and very lean and the noodles were nice and chewy. The broth was very good. It made me actually think why I didn't come here sooner to try out this place that's just up the street. If you decide to come here and eat, you won't be disappointed. It's a small family run business as the husband and wife were in the corner enjoying some lunch as well while they were serving their customers.

My go to spot for pad Thai & yellow curry! Every time I come here, whatever I order is delicious! Pad Thai, yellow curry, pho, crab Rangoon, ban Bo hue, banh mi, the list goes on. Never disappointed. I wish I had more photos to share!

I came here for convenience being that it was so close to the UPS store and it was too late to cook. I haven't been here in years and had forgotten what it was like inside. I thought initially it was sort of like a Panda Express where you point to what you wanted and they scoop it up but it wasn't. Theres a menu posted right when you walk in. I ordered pho and banh mi. The menu has a hodgepodge of Asian food. It took a while for the food to arrive - as in..ordered at 630 and didn't get it till 645. Ordered to-go. It wasn't busy either. It seemed like the older lady had to get help from the possible owner of how to order. The banh mi was okay. It wasn't really authentic and lacked the pate in the mayo mixture. Also, the cucumber was sliced strangely and it was warm and soggy. I think they should have sliced it into wedges instead of half moons. The pho was ok but also not super authentic. The place looked clean and there's a big TV at the place. Would I come back..um..don't know.

I have NO PROBLEM with this.

Food: Excellent. Thus, Fortune Noodle House is GREAT for takeout. Dine-in leaves a bunch to be desired. Pho doesn't come with chopsticks. Eating pho with a fork felt downright weird. No one comes to check on you or refill your water - even when there are no other customers. When you are eating something spicy, like their Bún bò Huế, this can be a problem. Ordered brown rice, but got white rice [fixed though], and ordered one hot tea but got two [OK, I guess]. Bottom line: while the people running the place were certainly nice enough, accuracy in service is not a priority at Fortune Noodle House. We had the Broccoli with Chicken and the aforementioned Bún bò Huế, which were both EXCELLENT!

They have good pho! I like to try out pho places all the time and this one hits like home.

Probably one of the best pho places I've been too, and definitely the best pho place in Renton! This place is a hole-in-the-wall restaurant and has that small restaurant vibe. Unlike most establishments, Fortune Noodle House is quick-service concept - meaning you order and pay first, then sit down. I ordered a small steak and meatball pho and it came out pretty quick. The pho was so good. The meat was tender and flavorful. The broth was super flavorful as well, to the point where I wouldn't need that much hoisin sauce/sriracha. The service is below average. We weren't checked up on at all and didn't get any refills on our water. Overall, I'd come here again.

On their menu they have something called "Bangkok noodles" with a picture of what ramen noodles look like, and this did not look like that. To make it worst, trying to split the tiny amount of yakisoba noodles on the platter for my two kids, there wasn't enough. If I wanted yakisoba I could have went to a teriyaki place and got double the amount of food for that price. Then came my dish, I ordered tom yum noodle soup, 4 stars. My mouth was burning, my tongue was on fire, even now as I am writing this my stomach is still hurting from the spice. I can eat Thai chili pepper straight up, so my spice tolerance is very high. This noodle soup was not 4/5 stars! This noodle soup was like 9/5 stars!!! I couldn't continue, so I told the waitress. She didn't offer a new dish or take it off my bill as I barely touched it. She simply said " oh yeah sometimes it's a different cook". What?!? Shouldn't your cooks all be consistent! Or at least the procedure of how much spice to put in per each stars be consistent? I packed my barely touched noodle soup to go. Maybe I'll add water when I get home, or maybe I'll just dump it in the trash.

Why? Because the young woman who works the front is one of the hardest working restaurant workers I have ever seen and she has a very welcoming, fun personality. Tip her well! The food is also good, but the pad thai noodles seemed a little too sweet. I suggest ordering an entree rather than the lunch combos which I think emphasize too much on the pad Thai noodles which aren't their best offering. Interior isn't that large, but they can put tables together for a large group of friends here for a fun time. Meet up here with your fun friends, and be cool with the nice, fun staff.

I have only had a few Laotian dishes and so I was really looking forward to this spot! I ordered their chicken Pad Lao on DoorDash and was very happy with it as the flavors were some of the best that I have ever had, minus the spice level as I ordered a 4 and it felt very mild. The next time I visited in person with my mother and brother who were excited to try them out as I raved to them about the food that I had received. We got their 40 minutes before closing but the kind gentleman said nothing about closing soon and let us choose our seats. The inside was decently sizes to accommodate all party sizes. The decor is thoughtful and feels like a cozy home. Our waiter handed us menus and then got us waters before taking our order. My mom got their pad kee mao with chicken (2 stars), my brother got the pad lao with chicken, I got their traditional Kao Pon, and a order of their lao pork sausages. I was surprised by how fast food arrived as my Kao Pon arrived before the sausages but it wasn't too long before the rest of the food arrived. My family members were also impressed and happy with their food, though they said the spice levels were definitely on the spicier side than other places.
