Came for the all you can eat Crab legs. First ones in at 4:00pm seated and greeted by Jennifer our server. Took during and food order and off to the buffet. Lots of choices. Sampled a little of each I thought I would like. Music was from the casino and was not real loud. Tables and seats were clean and well maintained. Food was goooood. Service was awesome. OMG!!! Went in at 12:40pm on a Tuesday, for lunch. Was a terrible experience. Food was unappetizing and almost inedible. Half of the food was empty and the other half was cold and rubbery. If I had known there was another option at the casino I wouldn't have wasted my money on the buffet. It was gross. read more

We stayed at the hotel and decided to give the buffet a try. Our dinner at the steak house the night before was so good we were hoping the breakfast buffet would be decent. The selection was good but the quality, not so much. The lunch items were better than the breakfast items but we will definitely try Legends next time instead. read more

Food was absolutely the worst I have ever had at a casino. It was cold, fried shrimp to hard to eat as well as some of the pastries. Okra was cold and hard as a rock. The baked fish was my only thing Simi eat able. Wife's fried chicken and potatoes were cold, very little taste. The Mac and cheese was congealed. So After dinner was a blunder, we traveled out to the casino floor to try and have a little fun and what a financial mistake that was less than two minutes on a slot machine and there goes fifty and on, and on....get the point, you won't win. My wife got awarded 14 free spins, and would you believe not one cent. I understand that not everyone can win, but at least, let the player have a little fun. Not the best food in the casino and buffet not maintained which is one of my requirements when others are serving themselves. People are messy so it takes a village when serving open food and guests. Recommend the sandwich bar or steak house. read more

The food was completely gross. The entire buffet was inedible. It was a slow night so it tasted and looked as if everything had been sitting there all day. We did add on a lobster tail and a steak ($15/each extra) and that part was worth it because it was the only thing cooked fresh. But $75 for two ppl at an old stale buffet was not worth it. read more

We are there on Thursday and the food was terrible. The steak they had was thick and so tough you could hardly cut it. the pork chop was also tough as a bpot. All the food was not steaming hot and most of it was limp from sitting there. The salad bar was disgusting with all food out of a can. We won't ever go back. it is out priced and food was horrible. Food was ok but sparse and none of the specialty items you see on bigger casino buffets. Highlights are the stir fry area which Lois like it's an omelette station at breakfast. The chili was outstanding! Meat choices were few but tasty. Catfish was ok, mashed potatoes were good. Service was friendly and attentive but not overly so. The venue is straight forward and clean but nothing too exciting. Cookies were tasty and the soda had the right amount of flavor and carbonation. Lowlights, all the vegetables were over cooked, bland and mushy. Too many fried foods, not enough meat options but several chicken and fish. Most of the deserts were a pass to me. They were not worth the calories. My main gripe is the smoke, it's horrible here. Where most casinos have really good air handlers this place was thick with smoke and so is the buffet. Arrived at 130pm -ish for lunch buffet. The sign says lunch is 11-230. Price $12.99 and no senior discount. Cashier told me buffet closed at 230 and no more food put out after 2pm. I was okay with that, and after all, its in the middle of nowhere. First stop was the pizza. It looked pretty pathetic. Dry and needing to be replaced. I grabbed a small slice of pepperoni pizza and moved on to the salad bar. The salad bar was well cared for but lacking in condiments. The romain lettuce was fresh and crisp, salad dressing selection good (creamy ceasar good) and the crab salad and macaroni salad were okay. But they had no kidney or garbanzo beans, hard boiled eggs, ham, bacon, etc. overall, salad bar weak. Only one soup, chicken noodle which i did not try. As expected, pizza had qualities of leftover pizza. The croutons saved the salad. The meat and potato part of the buffet was okay but nothing to drive to the middle of nowhere for. What they called demi glaze steak was tough as shoe leather. And since they only give you a butter knife, nearly impossible to cut out the edible parts. I passed on the mashed potatoes because i could see deep cracks as if they had been there awhile. Grabbed a fried chicken thigh, a piece of lemon pepper seared cod, and a couple of the smallest chicken wings ive ever seen. They looked like Quail wings. Very Dinky. The chicken thigh was crispy and juicy inside, kudos. The star was the cod. I think it was a lemon pepper sauté. I squeezed fresh lemon on it and ate with pieces of my romain lettuce. The desert bar looked good and well stocked, but due to A1C issues, i save my sugar fix for better battles. Times are tough right now and i dont want to slam this place. They offered a variety of food at what is likely a fair price as of Apr 5, 2022. In summary. If you want a variety of foods, and want to pig out, not a bad place. But for a $12.99 lunch without a doggie bag, in my opinion there are much better options. read more

Buffet just so-so. THE GOOD: The service was good. They ladies who checked us out were very friendly and the waitstaff was very helpful and friendly as well. They have a Noodle bar where you can choose your ingredients, sauce, and noodles and it's cooked on the flat top in front of you. The food was fresh and tasted good. The desserts were good as well. THE BAD: The food other than the Noodle Bar and desserts was horrible. The salmon looked dry. The catfish tasted like it had been cooked a few days ago and put it out every day until someone eats it. The crawfish weren't seasoned well and the meat selection didn't look appetizing at all. I would say this place needs a lot of work on their food. Next time I go to this casino, I'll eat at one of the other restaurants instead. read more

The first thing I noticed was the food all looked old. The steak and pork chops were dry and overcooked to the point of being leather. Very hard to cut and chew. We tried several different items on the menu and found nothing above mediocre. Even the desserts were bland and almost tasteless. Not at all what you would expect from a $25 buffet. Unfortunately, this restaurant has gone completely downhill. Crab legs came out still frozen and smelling awful, the buffet food is cold, stale, and tastes horrible, not to mention the smell of the food makes your stomach turn. Highly disappointed!!! First time players here at Downstream Casino. Went to the buffet and had to wait in line 30 minutes. Then got up there and found there wasn't hardly anything to eat. Almost everything was picked over or empty. Nothing was replenished. The noodle bar didn't have any noodles in it and just had veggies instead. There wasn't any lettuce in the salad bar. Even the desserts were far and few between. Not worth the money!!! Won't be seeing us again. read more

If rating the hot food buffet I give it a 3 star. If rating the salad and dessert bars, I give it a 4+! The salad bar has super fresh greens and toppings. The dessert bar has so many cakes and pies, it is impossible to try them all but I sure want to! The hot food buffet frequently was out of different dishes. The food was good but not outstanding, especially for a price of $15/person! If it is your first time at the casino, get a slot card and they will give you a free buffet...now that is worth it! read more

An okay buffet, however, definitely not worth the money unless you go on the all you can eat crab legs night. We usually aren't compensated like a lot of the guests are, so that drives my decision. This buffet was unusual because most of the food tasted very fresh. It did not have that "institutional" taste that you get at most buffets. The service was impeccable. It is priced a little high for the area but there are coupons and specials available. We ate on "BOGO" night or Buy One Get One so each of our party was half price. I fell in love with their Brussel sprouts, smoked brisket, and mashed potatoes. Their cherry pie was awesome too. read more

This place was way overpriced for the variety and quality of food available. ( A whopping $18 per person) It was buy 1 get 1 free if you were fortunate enough to have a companion with you. For the price, we would've expected at least crab legs but there was only steamed shrimp. The tongs for the shrimp were so tiny that you could only get 1 shrimp at the time. Even at that, they allowed the bowl to go completely empty for some time before refilling it. The fried catfish was dry and tough from being under the heat lamps a long time. The beef brisket was flavorless. The fried chicken was tough and stale although they did put fresh chicken out during our visit. There were few highlights, however the fresh salad bar was okay and they had tasty and interesting desert selections. Overall, you would be better off going to the Golden Corral up the road in Joplin. 1 of the worst casino buffets I have ever experienced. read more

I have been going to Spring River Buffet since it was opened. Unfortunately, this restaurant has been steadily deteriorating for the last year or so. Every visit is a little worse than the previous. I just returned from Sunday brunch at Spring River and it was no exception to the downward death spiral--there were fewer items to choose from and quality decreased. In my latest visit, one of the few remaining items I still enjoyed, the beef brisket, was missing. In its place was more poorly prepared pork. The desert bar used to be exceptional, now it consists of inedible items like hard as a rock cinnamon rolls and cookies along with thawed cherry pie. Today, as an added bonus, my waitress served me water in a clearly dirty glass. The lack of quality in service and food is apparent everywhere you look inside Spring River Buffet. read more

all i gotta say the service sucks,,,, and if you want to get sick keep on eating there,,, not only myself but other people i know that i recommended to go there have been sickened by theyre seafood,,,, nothing like puking up shrimp that wasnt cooked,,mind you i used to love seafood,shellfish,, now icant even stand the smell of it allone eat it anymore,,, thats as we,, really sad then they dont honor theyre senior discounts,, and over charge as well..dessert bar something to be desired well and theyre selection for diabetics,,, is far and few between,,, could off diabetic ice cream as well but they dont,, and the atmosphere sucks as well and to top it off, we spend right around 300.00 a trip per person to go there, and get sick,,,,,not anymore read more
